Bin Laden rumored to be working on a book

By Marjorie Kehe | 10.28.08

Is Osama bin Laden writing a book? Rumors that he’s working on a book called “Nidal” (”Struggle”) have been circulating around the globe for several days now. These reports appear to have originated with unnamed Pakistani sources.

According to accounts from both Italian internet news site AKI and the Press Trust of India, bin Laden’s book is a defense of Al Qaeda, a “response to ‘negative propaganda and insufficient information’ ” about the group. Bin Laden is said to be writing in Arabic with the help of a younger writer of “Middle Eastern background” who will also translate the book into English.

Quoting from the Arab daily Al-Quds al-Arabi, the Italian news source says the book looks at “atrocities committed against Muslims by the West and how the Crusaders have harmed world development.” The book is also said to blame the United States for the current crisis in global finance and to offer new information about the 9-11 attacks on the US.

Jihadica, an Internet site that serves as a clearinghouse for global information on jihadism, this weekend carried a similar report about the book linked to a Pakistani newspaper.

However, as US publishing industry newsletter Publishers Marketplace makes clear today, “no website or person considered close to bin Laden has confirmed the reports.”

Maybe a book is being written but not by Bin Laden. He’s been dead for at least five years. It’s in the interests of both sides of this conflict to perpetuate the myth that he is alive so now he’s writing a book! Maybe **** follow up with a cookbook on cave cuisine.

I’m with Alan. We haven’t heard a new “live” thing from Obama, er, Osama for a good 4-1/2 years. All of his last videos have been either audio or cut-and-paste jobs.

It would be real easy to prove he’s alive, of course. He just needs to show up on video, look straight into the camera with a close-up, and say those all-so-important two words that nobody living in a cave would possible have known four years ago:

“Sarah Palin.”

I call Osama “Snowball Bin Laden” after Snowball the pig in Orwell’s Animal Farm who was last seen escaping the farm with blood on his shoulder never to be seen again. He is blamed for everything that goes wrong on the farm for ever after….more of Snowball’s sabotage… Perhaps he can be found in a luxury condo in Palm Beach or Santa Barbara or Wazirastan. Perhaps he’s dead. His myth, however, lives on because it is useful to both sides.

Those who have read Robert Fisk and Howard Zinn, among others knowledgeable about this history of “Western” predations since the end of WW1, know that Bin Laden would have a great deal to write about. His book would be widely read, and perhaps, just perhaps, it might give some a more balanced perspective of “Western incitements” during the pre-9/11 years 1920-2001. Those who believe that the “West” (mainly US, Britain and France) were without mortal sin during these decades labor under a false belief. Mighty as the “West” may be, it cannot alter Newton’s Third Law of nature: “To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

Good title - “Struggle”. Reminds me of another famous book “My Struggle”
which is also known as Mein Kampf. That was written by Hitler. They have much in common.

binLaden has been dead for some time– God rest his soul– so any book would be writen by Zawahiri, who is a bad a writer as he is an abdominal surgeon.

for the boys who believe Bin Laden is dead. What are you using for an info source? US govt reports? No one has any idea where he is, or what his health is. Second, the 911 incident is easily provable as a “false flag” incident. It isn’t possible that Bin Laden and 19 Arabs (some of which the FBI has identified as being alive and well) could defeat the entire US Air Defense System, or the entire US Air route and Traffic Control System. Only the uninformed believe the Bush Canard that the Arabs did it.

Ref. TimothyL, Fisk & Zinn…
U.S.A., the biggest bully on the block, with its air of injured innocence has become a master of the “He hit me back first” justification. Many a war has been started because a politician lies to the media and then believes it when he reads it in the newspaper. or as Voltaire said, “Who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”

I’m sure Obama will want to meet with BinLaden after he is elected President, so we’ll find out if he is alive or not!
