The Limits of Power: The End of American Exceptionalism by Andrew J. Bacevich was published this year and in just 182 pages, Bacevich clearly and succinctly tells how we arrived at the situation we are in today. He is a professor of history and a former colonel in the military. I found his clarity compelling. “Freedom is not static, nor is it necessarily benign.” Such provocative words make me read on … and on. I will look on myself and all of us today in a much different light. ” |
