Harry Potter books become collectibles

Do you have an early edition of a Harry Potter book? If so, don't throw it away! One just sold in Dallas for $19,000.

Of course, it was no ordinary book. It was a soft-cover first-edition of the first Harry Potter book published under the title of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." It was one of only about 200 printed with illustrated wrappers by London publisher Bloomsbury – and it was signed by author J.K. Rowling.  (The book was later published in the US as "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.")

The book's price at auction surprised experts who had estimated that it would sell for about $12,000. The purchaser was reported to be a vintage comic book collector from Dubai whose wife is a Harry Potter fan.
