Monitor editor John Yemma rejoined the Monitor in 2008 after 20 years at the Boston Globe. He has been a foreign correspondent, foreign editor, political editor, and business editor in his career and has also worked for the Dallas Morning News, United Press International, and the San Antonio Express-News.

Managing editor Marshall Ingwerson has been a reporter based in Moscow, Washington DC, Miami, Los Angeles, and Boston. He covered the White House during the George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations, and the Russian White House during the Yeltsin administration. He has been managing editor since 1999.

National news editor Cheryl Sullivan is a 20-year Monitor veteran. She has led the paper's features sections, served as deputy national editor, managed an internal writers' training program, and reported from San Francisco and Boston. In a brief foray outside of journalism, she worked for a consulting firm and an engineering company.

David Clark Scott has been the Monitor's international news editor since 1999, coordinating prize-winning coverage from eight overseas bureaus and from dozens of freelance writers. In 2007, he won the Dart Society's Mimi Award for editing. As a correspondent, he has covered Wall Street and served as the Monitor's Latin America bureau chief and as the Australasia bureau chief.

As the Monitor's online editor, Jimmy Orr leads a team of editors who produce and manage CSMonitor.com and develop new ways of presenting Monitor journalism in digital formats. Before joining the Monitor, Orr was chief Internet strategist for President George W. Bush and later special adviser on Internet communications for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
