When to water ornamental grasses

Most ornamental grasses are drought-tolerant once they’re gotten established in your yard. (That usually takes about a year.) So typically you won’t have to water them unless the dry spell is prolonged. How do you know when it’s time to water? The edgs of the “leaves” will curl.
