Biden endorses Hillary for VP, kind of
By Jimmy Orr | 09.10.08
Tired of all the Palin news?
All it took was a little nudge and Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden proved he could get himself back in the news-cycle by saying he was unqualified. Well, that’s how the McCain campaign is translating Senator Biden’s words anyway.
Mr. Biden actually was being gracious when an attendee at an event in New Hampshire in a rambling almost nonsensical endorsement said he wasn’t a fan of Hillary Clinton and thought Barack Obama made a wise move in selecting the Senator from Delaware.
Modesty? Senator Biden?
Biden, who has yet to win the coveted Mr. Humility award, flashed a little modesty however by stating that Senator Clinton was not only qualified but could have been the better choice (see video below).
“Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America,” Biden told the crowd. “Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend; she is qualified to be president of the United States of America. She’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and, quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me, but she is first-rate.”
Rapid response
Almost seconds after Biden uttered those words did the McCain campaign light up like a neon Christmas tree in Las Vegas and blast a transcript of his remarks out to the media to make some hay.
McCain spokesman Ben Porritt followed the transcript up with some words of his own.
“Barack Obama’s most important decision of this election and Biden - the candidate he selects suggests himself that he wasn’t the right man for the job and that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice,” Porritt said. “Biden certainly has a credible viewpoint on this.”
No swift boat this year
The gracious Joe Biden lasted only so long, however. When discussing Republican attack ads, Biden referenced the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign against John Kerry in 2004 and said he’s not going to let that happen again.
“Swiftboating is not going to work this time, and the reason it’s not is No. 1, I’m going to smack ‘em right square in the chops,” Biden said.

The major candidates should ALL get up and admit they are unqualified.
Unless you are one of the Sheeple that pays no attention, and blindly votes party lines out of pure ignorance or arrogance, try voting one of the third party candidates, all of whom are more qualified than McInsane and I’ll-Bomb-Ya.
The USA is in a flaming tailspin and only the voter can pull her up and put out the fire
Bet you stupid sheep don’t have it in you…….
4. Dems Will Win | 09.10.08
The Democrats will win. The strategy is clear. Biden will continue to lay plans and create a build up for Hillary Clinton to assume the VP nomination. The tension will grow. A real experienced politician who is also a woman–Hillary Clinton, not Sarah Palin. The media will suck the hot air out of McCain’s lame Palin tricks as it speculates if Biden will step aside. End of September, just a day or two before the Biden-Palin debate–a stunning announcement. For personal reasons Joe Biden has decided to step aside and throws his full support for Hillary to be VP. Obama and Clinton appear together with the full endorsement of the Democratic Party. Clinton shows up at the Palin debate and cleans Palin’s clock. The GOP is completely thrown off balance and can only spin its old Clinton attacks. An African American is elected President fulfilling the dreams of Lincoln and King. A woman is elected Vice President fulfilling the dreams of Obama’s daughters and generations of women. The nation is saved. PS Joe Biden is a hero who really placed Country First!!!

There’s nothing bad we can say about Hillary Clinton either way, I think that was her only weakness against Osama bin Barrack. Politicians will continue to be politicians, one should acknowledge how Hillary Clinton was cheated from her delegates in Michigan and Florida because one day that might save your life against liars/abusers such as politicians. You pay your taxes and as far as I know these people can pretend to be your mother, but they really aren’t.

Isn’t Biden a stroke survivor?
Has anyone done blood work on him recently ?

What else has one come to expect from the McCain campaign these days? There was a time when McCain pledged to run a “respectful” campaign. Anybody remember that? Anybody? No? Well, there’s a reason. If the way one runs a campaign is any indication of how one will be president, it is clear that McCain will be a carbon copy of Bush. His tactics– the unashamed lying, and distortion of his opponents’ words and records–is right out of the Carl Rove handbook. In the case of his attack on Obama for the “lipstick” comment, he was downright hypocritical: he made the same comment himself concerning Hillary’s healthcare plan. If he wans Obama to apologize to Sarah Palin, then maybe he should start by apologizing to Hillary Clinton.

Are the american people in the hands of the 21th Century massmedia freaks and are they really qualified or fit to vote at all? The american two party God Particle, should be run in the Large Hadron Collider for analys if this election is nothing else than “Gender Fascism”. This US federal election is more important for people in other nations than for the americans. The american people seems to look at the election like it was a horse race. The whole spectacle says more about the american citizens than about the chosen horses! It’s really a sad chapter in our common history…

Republican diversion is the Bush way and the Mcgirlieman campaign is an ardent practitioner. Soo sensitive and deficient in the English language. Biden said “might” McCain’s girlie man campaign needs at least a refresher course in 8th grade English.
I was going to vote for McCain until he picked a female pitbull as a running mate. Yes, they are mavericks, imagine Mcgirlieman walking in a neighborhood with a snarling pitbull on a leash. A vacant neighborhood with rundown schools, laid-off people and these two are worried about lipstick. I guess they are just following that guy who has the bit between his teeth. I left a grammatical error or two, also.

I’d never paid any attention to Joe Biden before he got the VP nomination. I thought he was just another white guy in a gray suit. Now, I can see why he’s been elected so many times. Very likable. … Don’t know much about his qualifications, but I’ve heard enough to know it’s not a problem.
Hillary’s proving to be a class act, which I always knew she was. Cool that Biden’s giving her credit for it.
Here’s hoping Bubba jumps on the Obama wagon soon, too. And what did Jon Stewart say about Obama getting his white war hero uncle out on the campaign trail? (Well, the guy’s probably not interested, but that itself says something.)

anyone who is not rich who votes republican is an idiot. plain and simple. they don’t care about you! they just care about making themselves and their big business friends richer at your expense! they want a country of two classes: rich and working poor. do you want that? do you want to be used? do you want to be miserable for your entire lives with no opportunity to move upwards? do you want to be controlled by an elite few? do you want to lose complete self worth because the people you elected to be your leaders care less about you than the waste that comes out of their rear-ends? why are we, as a nation, doing this to ourselves? where is our dignity? why are we so easily falling for the deceit and abuse that the republican party is carrying out on a constant basis? i don’t get it. i just really don’t.

The Dem party was fragmented over Obama being considered at all. No one was asked to vote for a Japanese name during WWII.
The Party was further fragmented when the femicidal practices were allowed regarding gender and resume.
Now the statement about pigs from foreign Islam named B.O. was just too much.
Joe Biden is an honorable American guy who simply stated the truth about Obama and his judgement.
Clinton / Biden is a vote getter.
Change is good.
Didn’t a switch of candidates occur in 1972?
Palin will break the glass dome if the change is not made.
17. abel | 09.10.08
Obama, made a huge political mistake!
Remember Obama only got 1/2 of the votes of the Democratic Party.
The election will be determined by the other 18 million voters that he tossed aside and put in their place, along with independents.
Again Obama only got 1/2 of the votes from his own Democratic Party.
Why because he did not appeal to the other 18 million. His first real decision in politics was to pick the best V.P., and what a political mistake he picked Biden. It divided the party. Many passionate female democrats will not forget for a long time.
Obama could not even unite the Democratic Party, so how will he unite the nation. Fireworks at the White House?

Obama, if, God-forbid, is every elected President, he will do his best to fulfill Osami’s threat to use our own laws to destroy our beloved country from within!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pure mud slinging and I love it. If She really was a pig I’d have one reason to support the republican party. Pig + elephant= cute new pet YAY! Obama should continue the attacks on Palin reinforcing the idea that she is only a spokes model for the economicly irrational and globaly destructive. She is the brass on the Titanic

What is stupid, Mr. HappyHungDong, is throwing away your vote on a 3rd party candidate who has no chance of winning.
You can thank our liberal media, who only give attention to Democrats and Republicans, for creating what is pretty much a 2 party system in America. Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils.
Am I completely thrilled with either candidate? No. Am I going to arrogantly fool myself into thinking I am making some sort of grand statement by cutting off my nose to spite my face and voting for a 3rd party candidate? Absolutely not.

I’ve become disenchanted by this election cycle.
It’s all about diversions.
There Will Be Backlash.

Too much deceit, and now the mindless spinning about “lipstick on a pig,” and hourly Rove style childishness.

26. Justice | 09.10.08
This is the last nail in Obama’s coffin. Even if it was not an outright admission, and Biden was just being galant, the mere suggestion that Hillary should have been VP MEANS that it was discussed by Obama and his henchmen as a viable strategy to win the presidency.
Obama’s problem is… OBAMA! His ego is far too big to allow anyone else to be a star. Unlike McCain, whose masterful choice of Palin skyrocketed his chances, he doesn’t mind letting Palin take the spotlight. He knows that even if people only vote for him because of Palin, at the end of the election, it is still “he” who will be president!
Genius!

Jack Dawes ranted “If she’s [Palin] such an unqualified nothing, why are you guys all so scared? ”
I’m scared that an unqualified nothing will be elected and be a heartbeat away from launching nukes. How’s that?
28. Cindy | 09.10.08
Hillary Clinton is more qualified than any of them. I am a republicant but I voted for her because I knew in my heart that she is the right one. I am ashamed of how the democratic party treated her. How the Kennedy treated her and how many of her so call friends in Washington treated her. These people in Washington who worked with her knew that she is the most qualified candidate and in the end they all voted for the least qualified candidate to represent their party. If only she got the support, she would have won the nomination and could also win the election in November. They casted Michigan and Florida aside like these people have no voices. They did this to her because they hated her husband and the idea of a woman as a leader. But you know what, in the end, they will need a woman like Clinton to help pull Obama out of the dirt. This is first class discrimination.
29. auramac | 09.10.08
Biden will do just fine as VP- thanks but no thanks. They don’t need Biden to step down or Hillary to step in- they don’t need anything as long as people put aside there stupidity and racial hatred and realize that McCain/Palin is not only a danger to this country, but to the world- and You. This is the most disgusting campaign I’ve ever seen, and I don’t blame it if every minority and young person joined me in dropping out of this society and “pray” for the conservatives and red states to secede and join the third world. Barry Goldwater, an old conservative wanted to bomb the “enemy” back into the Stone Age. Today’s conservatives want us to vote ourselves there.
30. Chris | 09.10.08
If Biden steps aside and HRC takes his place and the Obama/Clinton team takes the White House, what happens in 2012? No VP can run against the incumbent president unless that president is on his way out after his second term. Have can you have a current VP out campaigning telling everyone she is better equipped to be president than her current boss who is president? I can assure you HRC won’t wait until 2016 to run for president, by that time she will be about as old as McCain is now.
31. Lee | 09.10.08
Liberal is not a dirty word. Christ was a liberal (in his time), who preached against the money-changers, and taught that we should love each other and take care of each other. I see a lot of hatefulness on these blogs, when we should be discussing issues like adults.

Can we focus on what matters? The issues and the candidates positions on them — Economy, Energy, Education and Foreign Relations, our Freedoms, Liberties and Justice! I am so tired of the lies the Repuglicans are making about their own positions, thier accomplishements and their beleifs. They jump to sling mud and miss-characterize the positions and accomplishements of their opponents. The God Fearing good peole of America are being used once again by the power brokers and manipulators in the Carl Rove Repuglican party. You people are being lied to. You are in bed with the devil. These people don’t care about the USA — they care about money and power. Independents - don;t fall for the lies being spewed by the Repuglican party. I applaud Barack Obama and Joe Biden for not getting into the petty, mud slinging that the Repuglican Party and Candidates are doing. Shame on John McCain and Sarah Palin - you both know what you are doing and you know you are lying to the American People. By the way - I was a John McCain backer in 2000. He was a man of principle and someone who wouldn’t sell-out like he has to the poweer brokers in the Repouglican Party.

Hillary didn’t want to be VP. And why should she? Whether Obama wins or not with Biden, she’ll have more political power as a popular senator from an important state than as VP.
Hillary lost to Obama and that doesn’t make him a misogenist. He never disparaged her for her femininity or her admirable feminism.
37. Cindy | 09.10.08

Don’t vote for the stupid (unethical) prom queen and her creepy leering chaperone McCain.

Does anybody else get the impression that Obama would much rather be running against President Bush? HaHaHa! People that are trying play the McSame card, simply come off as being ignorant. We’ve got 20+ years of watching McCain be different! One Democratic commenter (#4 Dems will win) above is actually saying that electing an “African American” President (as if Obama is even blood related to a true African American) will fulfill the dreams of Lincoln and the Rev Dr. Martin Luther King - that’s the funniest one yet! BOTH President Lincoln AND MLK were Republicans and would NEVER embrace the socially liberal and morally stained agenda of Freshman Senator Obama (of course, for my money, they wouldn’t like McCain’s liberal stances either!).

Biden is going to smack who? These people talk like their a tad daft. Biden belongs to the classic/traditional “good ole’ boy” club inside the beltway. That old **** couldn’t jog to the mailbox, let alone fight. He does not represent any sort of change either.
Perhaps Obama would be wise to fire him now, beg the Clintons to forgive him and for Hillary to save him and move on. The truth is, the old “mainstream press embarrassed itself by treating
Obama was like a king waiting for his crown to be placed gently on his rather dense noggin by a kneeling prolitariate. Guess what, dude? Not going to happen.
After the media left him sitting in his throne all alone to save itself, Obama began to wander aimlessly and babble nearly incoherently. He is angry and confused and dumbstruck.
On the other hand, McCain and Palin are running a tight ship with fewer mistakes made. There is little doubt that seeming to call Ms. Palin a “pig” was a huge error in judgement whether done purposely or through a lack of focus. You could almost hear the gasp of white conservatives and moderates of all stripes collectively gasp.
I think the media oversold Obama as intelligent when he’s actually not very bright at all in the scheme of things. And that whole 20-year mentorship with Jeremiah Wright…. Come on, you white folks supporting Obama. Do you really believe the man sat in the Trinity pews for twenty years and had no clue what his mentor, Jeremiah Wright was about? And you white liberal women STILL supporting the Trinity Church mediastar Obama… what’s up with that? Do you have no pride as a woman? Geesh. You all should be embarrassed.
Peace,
Mattooso

Okay Justice what the **** are you talking about? That move of Palin was desperation move! It’s you and people like you who are going to vote the wrong person in office! Basically your gonna vote McCain in for 3 reasons.
1 Obama is Black
2 Palin is a white woman
3 Obama is black
You stated nothing about views on what he was going to do once in office! Your clearly voting for McCain just so he can he mess up worse than his predecessor! And for What all to get Hillary in 2012! That’s stupid you could still vote Obama in and if he messes up get Hillary in! But why vote in someone who wants to bring back the draft, Start a War in Iran and Russia? You people can’t get past skin color.
BE SMART ABOUT THIS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! Repubs are only playing on your fear and your falling for it

Say it ain’t so Joe…
Joe Biden knew what everyone in America knew… including Sarah Palin.
That Hillary Clinton would’ve been most probably a better Vice Presidential nominee. Wow! What is the “underlying message” here? Truthfully, Hillary is the strongest candidate for President among all the candidates of both political parties.
Is Joe going to step aside and let Hillary take his place?
Tomorrow, Barack and Bill Clinton are having a luncheon…?
Stay tuned… this is the best political drama ever!

Hi all,
I think the Republicans are really sophisticated in manipulating truth. It is scary for them to continue to run the Whitehouse for the next term. Before you notice, the country may have gone so far that the distribution of wealth will be too extreme to be rectified. If the unfortunate results, you know what; the society will not be good, of course to the poor, and will also be not good to the wealth neither. We all are neighbors no matter is near or far. We affect each other. Only fairness will bring better harmony to society. Some socialism is good. Don’t be blinded by the fierce attacks on other economic models than capitalism.
Despite the fierce attacks on the Democratic side, a sober mind will still be able to tell that Obama is the winner in this campaign. I never saw a presidential candidate who has gone that far in spite of attacks and challenges waves after waves. Obama has proven his excellency. If we don’t vote him in the Whitehouse, honestly, it is our loss.
48. Kel | 09.10.08
If Obama asks Hillary to be VP, I won’t be voting for her in 2012. If Obama does asks her to step in as VP and she says NO, I will definitely be voting for her in 2012. BTW - I am voting for McCain/Palin simply because she is a woman - that’s right. I don’t care if that is the REASON that McCain chose her. We can talk all day about women’s salaries in comparison to men’s salaries.
I would love to see Hillary/Rice in 2012 as weird as that may be. It would be the first time TWO women ran for presidency/vice presidency!

Obama has, by far, the best understanding of the economy, which is in a much worse state than most people realize. The people that McCain surrounds himself with are the very people that created the legislation that repealed the Glass-Steagall Act (that would have prevented this housing and banking mess we are in). This is why Ron Paul, a true conservative, said today in his press conference, that he could not endorse the candidate of his own party, John McCain. Of course, he is not going to endorse Obama, either, but he did say “NO McCain,” and did not say that about Obama. Ron Paul did ask people to support third party candidates, but I am voting for Obama.
McCain is backed by the very same oil people that backed Bush and you know where that got us. If you think gas is high now, vote for McCain and you will see it double.

Obama to replace Biden with Clinton? Nope. Three reasons:
1. He doesn’t want the two Clintons in the White House, de facto sharing power and policy making at his expense. And he’s right.
2. Hillary I think is smart enough to feel that Obama very well may lose, and that she’s well positioned for 2012.
3. Palin’s image will be fractured as we learn more, by revelation of genuine errors in what she has said and done. (Note that I say “genuine”, as opposed to the garbage found at places like Daily Kos.)

I do not hope to change someone’s mind who has already made their choice for this election. But for those who have not made their choice, please read through both candidates websites and make an informed decision. I am trying not to be biased but the McCain ticket seems to keep trying to make issues out of really stupid things like “lip stick on a pig” can we please stick to real issues.
54. John | 09.10.08
Obama is an arrogant elitist and the most liberal of all Democrats. Just look at his record in the Senate. If that is not enough, just examine his associations with Jeremy Wright, Rezco, and the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. The media just built him up and made him their Messiah, the One. What a big mistake! Obama is a fraud and when will you blind followers open your eyes? I am a Democrat but I won’t vote for Obama. I hate voting Republican but this time McCain is the better choice.

It would put my faith back into an America where anything can happen and does,if the two best people rise above the bad guy.
If Hillary and Biden can capture the ticket and kick Obama and his bad decisions to the curb, they would have the Whitehouse in Dem control 2006.
The problem is not Biden, he is an answer.
Osama Obama is the foreign one on the ticket that no one relates to.

Are we not yet tired of McCain’s campaign? Until very recently, even during the primary season, I was still thinking (and hoping) that this was finally going to be a clean, or at least much cleaner, election season. I thought it will be a gentlemen (or ladies) election where each candidate talks about his/her own agenda and what separate him from the other, without taking a small section of a speech completely out of its context, telling bold lies, and using smears and false rumors.
For example, On Wednesday, September 10, 2008 the Washingtonpost.com quoted John Feehery, a Republican strategist, saying “the campaign is entering a stage in which skirmishes over the facts are less important than the dominant themes that are forming voters’ opinions of the candidates … there’s a bigger truth out there and the bigger truths are she’s new, she’s popular in Alaska and she is an insurgent,” Feehery said. “As long as those are out there, these little facts don’t really matter.” So I am asking, are these the people we want in the White House? Are these the values we admire and respect? Give me a break!
How mistaken I was! McCain is running a campaign just as low and dirty as Bush ran, and apparently completely forgotten the primaries eight years ago - how he got burnt be low class tactics. This is not a change, this is not a maverick; this is just more of the same. I am proud of Obama for sticking to his principles, values, and promise of change. I admire him for not sinking to his opponent’s level. I really hope, however, that the American people can, and will, see through all this and vote for the genuine person: the one that brings real change - even in the face of adversity.

The best solution for the democratic party and the country/world is for Hussain obama to resign now as the democratic pick. his chances are slim to non. For one his experience isn’t even as much as Palin’s. He will also have to answer to his masters from the islamic world when he loses. All those billions he’s spent buying all these good ole boys political endorsements will come due soon.
It’s far better to give obama an out now and allow him to leave in peace rather than wait until after the election, and have “all 57 states(57 islamic states)after him.

If Obama droped Biden for clinton that will show America he can’t make up his mind and he would be doing it just to win. I hope if he does do it people will wake up and see if things aren’t going his way the first time he would do anything to make it his way. He would only be using Clinton to get him the white house. She should say no way. I will run myself in 4 years and beat you at your own game. She should not step so low as to be a second choice to make him “the One” she would lose a lot of respect if she did.Another thing i am wondering is Obama going to ask for ad for the magnitude 6.6 earthquake in Indonesia that happen today? If he does then he does have ties still in Indonesia. He should not even get involved in any of that. Let congress deal with that.Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t help but Obama needs to stay out of it unless he wants people talking about his past all over again.

I saw a good one today out on a web page.It was about why 22 country’s want Obama and why we should vote for him.Wal-mart buys their stuff in the store from other countries and so does k-mart so we better do what they want or the might stop selling to us.So this guy is real smart so i think and we need to do what he say’s… Vote for Obama to save wal-mart..LOL. what a joke some people need a life
62. Katharine | 09.11.08
Hillary didn’t ask for, or want, the VP slot- they worked that one out long ago, and you can see from Joe’s comment that if she had wanted it she would have gotten it. Politics is a complicated business, people- don’t pretend to know what’s happened by what you see on the surface. All the details are worked out where we do not see them. Do you think Obama has all this backing from Biden and others without giving Hillary what she wants? Hillary is very capable of making her own decisions and getting what she wants, and it is obvious from the time and the timing of her and Bill’s appearances at the convention that that was what they asked for and Obama gave them everything they wanted there. Do you doubt that she has not gotten the position she wants in an Obama administration? It is not VP. Yes, Joe Biden was a second choice pick, but not Obama’s second choice pick. And he’s a good pick, and greatly approved of by Hillary. Vote Obama, and Hillary will end up on the Supreme court, or perhaps Secretary of State, or wherever it is that she wants to be. Of course they cannot tell this while they are still on the campaign trail, but Biden let the cat out of the bag (a little) for a reason. Jeez, look at things a little smart, for once.

Joe Biden get on your own Swift Boat over the Violence Against Women Act. you have little empathy for fathers.

I’m sorry to burst some of your bubbles, but for a major candidate to change his running mate this late in the game is political suicide and would be viewed as a stunt. Obama never thought that McCain had a chance and his ego made hime pick a V.P. that would sure up his lack of foreign policy experience, not get him more votes. Poles are fickle, but when you see them jump from one side to the other by a 10 or more point margin, something is going on. I still feel it will be a very tight election, but for the first time I feel McCain actually has a very good chance. By the way, for all you Hillary supporters, Palin has more experience than her as well.

Truth
Mark Halperin, on Anderson Cooper 360, September 9, from Talking Points Memo:
“AC: Mark, has there ever been a vice presidential candidate who has yet to talk to the press at this point in the race?
MH: No. And it’s another thing I get that I’m embarrassed about our profession for. She should be held more accountable for that. The “bridge to nowhere” thing is outrageous. And if you press them on that, they falter because they know they can’t defend what they’re saying. They’re saying it on the stump, as a core part of their message. It’s in their advertising. I’m not saying the press should be out to get John McCain and Sarah Palin. But if a core part of their message is something that every journalist…journalism organization in the country has looked at and says it’s demonstrably false, again, we’re not doing our jobs if we just treat this as one of many things that’s happening.”

If a woman votes for a woman simply because she is a woman, and not because of the issues, than there is a fundamental problem in the education of people in our country. This should not be about gender or race, it should be about repairing a once great nation.
Mccain voted with Bush 91% of the time. They have the same politics. If a voter, man or woman, wants continued unemployment, loss of health care, environmental destruction, failed foreign policy, fighting wars that are ruining us financially, and to put money in the treasuries of the Middle East, then they will vote Mccain/Palin, which means they are voting for Bush.
Fix America. Vote Obama.

I quote:
“Can we focus on what matters? The issues and the candidates positions on them — Economy, Energy, Education and Foreign Relations, our Freedoms, Liberties and Justice! I am so tired of the lies the Repuglicans are making about their own positions, thier accomplishements and their beleifs. They jump to sling mud and miss-characterize the positions and accomplishements of their opponents. …..You are in bed with the devil. These people don’t care about the USA — they care about money and power. ….Shame on John McCain and Sarah Palin - you both know what you are doing and you know you are lying to the American People. ….”
Nice comment.
To summarize: Let’s get back onto a discussion of the issues and be done with mud slinging. But first, let me be clear that the “Repuglicans” are mud slingers and liars that are in bed with the devil and out to get power and money. Our candidates, Obama and Biden, are as pure as the driven snow and will not say mean things about anyone, especially not George Bush.

Republicans are unscrupulous, lying, hypocritical , incompentant, money-grubbing
policy naifs who dishonestly manipulate every angle instead of engaging in real debate.
When they get into power they act like world police cowboys, make up scare stories and
invading foreign countries, wasting 3 trillion dollars in the process. They trample the
constitution, run up the debt, practice and attempt to legalise torture, ignore their
allies, cook up “axes of evil”, present fake evidence to the UN. They don’t give
a damn about ordinary people except so long as they are appearing to them to be the
patriotic or Christian party, which they achieve by despicable lying adverts pumping
fear and xenophobia at the populace, all paid for by massively wealthy financial and
business interests.
If Americans elect another Republican after the last 8 years of blinkered arrogant
lunacy and tragedy, they deserve to be relegated to the dustbin of history.
Sorry guys, but its just true. Time to wake up from your television dreams and
fantasies and take part in the world as it really is.
Obama, on the other hand, despite all your attempts to smear him is the most
level-headed and inspiring politician I have ever seen in 30 years of close
attention. Proof (if we needed it) that America has got real resources of genius.
Take your chance, please. For once. For all of us.

Like I said in response to PETO | 09.10.08, our candidate (well at least Obama) is as pure as the driven snow and, therefore, we will not stoop to the low level of the “Repuglicans” and get into all that name calling and mud slinging. We’re just going to debate the issues. We’re certainly not going to give anyone the finger or imply that they are a pig, even though we could get a nice laugh and applause for doing so.
71. Lonnie Wheeler | 09.11.08
Palin is clearly inside the Democrat’s decision cycle, and they can’t figure out how to get her out!
- Biden has lost his confidence and making positive references to Hillary’s qualifications.
- Obama is being careful with his words and only focused on lipstick.
Its hard to conclude anything from this other than the Democrats are faltering in their own stupidity!
72. PR | 09.11.08
Joe Biden knows when to turn the lights off when the party’s over. He “smells” the death of their campaign and he openly admits it by his commit that Hilary would have been a better choice for winning the election.
73. SJones | 09.11.08
In response to “Dems Will Win”. Let me make sure I understand. Biden will step aside shortly for “personal reasons” so that HRC can take his place. If he steps aside so that HRC can take his place, how can that be for personal reasons? That is unless you are suggesting that Biden will only pretend to step aside for personal reasons. Why not just say he is stepping aside because the decision to nominate him was a mistake? Could it be that the best way to not have to admit to this mistake (and it is a whopper!) is to say “personal reasons”? You may be right in your prediction, and I guess the majority of those who will vote for Obama will not really care. But let’s be honest, the election is only a few weeks away, and the dems will do anything to win. So the promise of a new kind of campaign, the end of politics as usual, all that was just hot air. If Obama/Biden need to come up with some bold face lie to get Biden off the ticket, that will be O.K. with you - right?
74. CM | 09.11.08
Are there still people who ACTUALLY believe that Obama is a muslim? Why don’t you try putting this ignorant rumor to rest and start looking at the facts and the policies that underlie this presidential election?
Crawl out of your dark holes, people. This is getting ridiculous!
75. JTM | 09.11.08
Unbelievable. A bumbling fool for sure. He has second guessed Obama’s decision. This plays well into the republican claim that Obama has a hard time making difficult decisions. The dems keep handing video clips to the republicans at an alarming pace. They are imploding and losing the election. By the time election day arrives, the poles will be near double digits in favor of McCain.
76. JTM | 09.11.08
response to 62.Katherine:
This sounds like Washington business as usual. You know. Back room deals, secret earmarks and hidden promises. I thouht Obama was supposed to be different. I thought he was bringing change to Washington. You may be right. It may be exactly as you say. But, is this really change? I dont think Obama would endorse your perpective. Do you?
77. Rob | 09.11.08
I think the real thing that needs to happen here is for Obama to admit he was afraid Hillary would overshadow his run for Prez as Palin has McCain. Therefore he went against the will of the American people for his own selfish, insecure reasons.
Then, Barack should also admit that only Hillary is experienced enough for a run for the White house and that he now supports Hillary for precedent.
Then Hillary can in humbly acknowledge he is right and she gladly accepts the nomination, but only if he agrees to stay on as Her Vice Precedent.
If that happens… I will vote for her!
But other wise I vote for the Palin/McCain ticket.
78. Fred | 09.11.08
We know less about Senator Obama than about any prospective president in American history.
79. Michael | 09.11.08
Recently my 10 year old daughter asked “what’s the difference between a democrat and a republican”. Since she also wants to run for class president I asked her following.
What if, since there are 30 kids in your class, you promise 20 of them that you will take some of the pencils, and books, and erasures etc… from the other 10 classmates and give them to the 20. She immediatly realized she could be easily elected. That’s the democratic philosophy. Is it fair? No. Is it moral? No. But it will get you elected. If you steal from Peter to pay Paul, you will always have Paul’s support. Sad but true and it is the politice of division.
If you want America to be the leader of the world, encourge personal freedom. Encourage individual responsibilty and the people will achieve. Government produces NOTHING they only take from the successful.
Discourage individuals from succeding and you will have France: France — Unemployment Rate: 8.7% (December 2006 Est.)

Obama was born a muslim and remains a muslim. Your Father is a muxlim so you are automatically one. The fact he went to a so called christian church is misleading as a good majority of his Trinity church people are in fact muslims. The doctrine of that church is Black Liberation and the Black Value System and these are both doctrines Obama believes are “sensible heartfelt lists” Try reading these doctrines sometime.
As for Hillary being the best candidate? We the people voted her in as she won the popular vote. It was the unDemocratic leaders that cut her out of the race.
81. suzyq | 09.11.08
To Lee,
If Obama is so worried about our economy then why is he giving the corrupt U.N. 845 Billion more of taxpayers money to spend? If we are so bad off then surely we are giving enough already without an EXTRA 845 BILLION! In the same bill he has put forward to the Democrats he is removing all small weapons and firearms. So there goes the second amendment.
82. david | 09.11.08
Talk about throwing someone under the bus! Had Clinton been picked, it would have made the McCain/Palin look like a copycat. Maybe all his years of experience in politics is finally paying off. (plus it gives him a shot a vp for Clinton when she runs later)
83. Mark S | 09.11.08
Guilliani called it, and now Biden has to step aside, or the Republican’s will have a hay day.
Obama will do what ever is necessary to win this. If an Army of 30 reporters and investigators can’t destroy Palin, he will send more in until he gets something. And if that doesn’t work, he will have to fabricate it.
If I were in Alaska I would quickly open a chain of Palin Scandal Shops in Juneau, Fairbanks, Anchorage and Wasilla.

CM,
Mnay more people question HUSSEIN OBAMA after the show up at the wtc memorial.
We were lucky to get him to wear a flag lapel pin. He was dim about placing his hand over his heart to pledge allegiance.
So where was Michele making an appearance of respect for the butchered in an act of war?
It wasn’t very “first lady ” of her to be so disrespectful at the battleground ground zero.
Mrs. B.O. has never hidden her lack of respect for the USA.
Obama tossed his flower at the memorial in a rather disrespectful fling.
Nothing much heartfelt at all.
John Mcain knelt and laid a flower with respect for the victims of the attack.
Cindy McCain with proper “Presidential 1st lady respect” did the same.
Can you believe an Arab guy named Hussein is standing at ground zero, Islam”s war marker, with an all American war hero, both seeking to be Commander in Chief?
Only in America!!!!

I’m all for change..I intent to vote against all incumbants. Don’t care what party. Can you imagine how that wouold change things??? I believe that the founding fathers intended for the congress to be a convention you elected delagates to, send a rep there, then have him/her go home and live with what they have done to themselves and to the people they represent.I don’t think any of them envisioned a professional politician that has lost touch with the people that they supposedly represent. As far as president…gotta go with a fellow vet

That audience member didn’t just say he was glad Biden was picked over Clinton - he was trashing Clinton. If Biden hadn’t defended Clinton, he would have been blamed for that too.
87. Aaron | 09.13.08
First of all, the people who keep saying Obama isn’t from this country (fyi: you can’t be president if you’re not from this country), is Muslim (religious persecution), or is friends with terrorist are just flat out ignorant. I work with people who have these views. It just simple doesn’t make sense. The question is raised often as to why the media or republican party doesn’t point these things out to the American people? Well, the answer is simple…they have researched all claims and none of them are true. Absolutely NOT TRUE! The only source was a hate email that was spammed to thousands of people. So, please stop the lunacy. If you’re racist then just admit it but you can’t keep hiding behind the lies (seems to be the going trend for republicans). If you continue to believe so, you’re a bigot (definition: a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion).
Second, religious or not, why do we not understand the importance of separation between church and state? The founders of this country left their homes in search for freedom from oppression (let’s ignore the fact that we stole land from and executed the native americans). The veterans have fought and died to maintain freedom of oppression. So why do we want to put religion into politics and destroy the civil advances that we’ve made in this country?
Third, every time a church so much as mentions politics in their sermon, their tax privileges should be stripped from them. In my opinion, I think it’s ludicrous that they are even tax exempt at all. Maybe someone could explain why. Also, next time you make a contribution to your church, just remember that it’s paying for your pastors expensive material things…something Jesus wouldn’t be too happy with. Then again, all they have to do is say “please forgive me, for I have sinned” and all is forgiven.
I don’t belong to any party but I do believe in liberty not oppression.
The republican party used to be a party that stood up for the American people. The new republican party is a party that has divided this country and isolated itself.
Enough of the same old republican politics from the ’80s. This is 2008! It’s a new world with different, more intelligent morals. We need a new direction.
Obama/Biden ‘08

Lipstick on a pig, umm is that like dogs playing poker what are we all really talking about here? Somebody help me!!!!
Anyway Gas is high, the 99 cents only store is now the 99 cent and up store, and food that used to be 2 and 3 dollars is now 12 and 13 dollars for the same package and the package has gotten smaller. Hurricanes are still leaving people homeless, New Orleans is still being forgotten about, and all of our candidate choices for this year seem to be comical. Anybody seen Jesus lately we are in need of a real leader, so enough about my soap box, Im just going to relax now and sit and wait for the sky to open.
But I will be voting for Obama in ‘08. ![]()

Thank you! People should get theire heads out of the ground and visit the candidates’ website and study their platforms and then make an educated and well-thought of choice. Leave race, color, religion and bigotry out of this it says a lot about who you (the ignorant individuals bringing race, color, relgion, etc. up) are …
