Ted Nugent blasts Matt Damon on Palin

By Jimmy Orr | 09.16.08

Ted Nugent and Matt Damon disagree. Imagine that.

The noted hard rock star and hunter doesn’t see eye-to-eye with the popular actor in assessing the qualifications of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

Palin is “absurd”

In a recent video interview, Matt Damon was asked his thoughts about McCain’s surprise running mate. Saying that he knew very little about Palin outside of her mayoral and gubernatorial experience, he chalked it up to pure politics before calling it absurd.

“It’s like a really bad Disney movie,” Damon told the Associated Press. “The Hockey Mom.’ Oh, I’m just a hockey mom from Alaska, and she’s president. She’s facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It’s absurd.”

A calm Nugent

Anyone who has watched Ted Nugent appear on talk shows over the years knows he can deliver a punch when he deems it necessary. In an email exchange The Vote had with Nugent this morning, the rock star starts off diplomatic.

“To be concerned is prudent, but his references are without merit,” Nugent wrote. “Her record in politics proves she is a tough woman of intellect, logic, common sense, integrity and defying courage. Theoretically, Matt’s concerns would better be aimed at and earned by Barack Obama.”

Palin’s great

Nugent had high praise for the Republican vice presidential nominee, who - like Nugent - is an avid hunter.

“I like her a lot,” he said. “I have examined her record and she is my kind of elected official. She may very well be the best Republican in America today.”

Streisand

Damon is only one of many celebrities who have come out against the McCain ticket. As we told you earlier today, Barbra Streisand is having a fundraiser tonight for Barack Obama that is expected to raise $9 million.

Streisand expressed outrage with the Palin selection, calling it a “calculated, cynical ploy” and predicting that it will ultimately fail.

“We are not that stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Streisand wrote on her website (with 20 exclamation points).

Cusack

Actor John Cusack, in a blistering column posted yesterday on the Huffington Post, argued that the Obama team must ignore the GOP vice-presidential nominee and focus on McCain and his policies.

“McCain and the neocon ideologues won’t ‘reform’ government, they will gut government and privatize everything in sight in the name of responding to the crises they helped engineer through Bush and Cheney,” Cusack writes. “Their view of government is the reverse of the Hippocratic Oath: do harm and then when the patient is sick, give the wrong medicine, watch him die, and sell off the body parts.”

A not-so-calm Nugent

Nugent, an outspoken conservative, is a minority in the entertainment community. When asked why the celebrity crowd seems to better connect with the Democratic party, Nugent becomes the Nugent you know on TV — unfiltered.

“With all due respect, many in the entertainment industry are deep into mind-altering substance abuse, and when one’s logic and intellectual calculating powers are replaced with dopey feel-good, fantasy- driven denial, the democratic party serves them well,” Nugent blasted.

The world of Ted

What’s Nugent up to, by the way? Well, with less than a week to go before Fall, one doesn’t have to guess what he’s getting ready for.

” [I’m] preparing for the greatest hunting season of my life, all filmed for our Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild TV show on the Outdoor Channel,” Nugent wrote. “My new book from Regnery publishing, “TED WHITE & BLUE-The Nugent Manifesto” is unleashed the 1st week of October, and my killer band and I will attempt to record some new instant Motown classic lovesongs in between hunts, ASAP. Life is good when one puts his heart and soul into everything he does.”

Palin as a VP choice has changed my vote from undecided to Obama and Biden, I am a registered republican. Palin could easily become President, that is unbelievable and unacceptable.

2. SAM | 09.16.08

Hey, Herb… you are an obvious fake. Once again, Reps win, Dems lose. However, in the long run the country wins. Suck it up and read the Constitution for the next four years and try again. BTW, pay attention to what powers it establishes. And, then, note what powers it does not establish and try (please try) to understand that if they were supposed to be there, the founders would have alluded to them. Have a great day in our excellent republic!

3. Lexi | 09.16.08

…you couldn’t have said it better, Herb.

4. Lexi | 09.16.08

…and that’s exactly what our country needs more of, SAM. More hostile, unintelligent people like you with semi-automatic assault weapons.

5. Don | 09.16.08

Palin as a VP choice has changed my vote from undecided to Mcain and Palin, I am a registered democrat. Osama, I mean Obama or Biden could easily become President, that is unbelievable and unacceptable.

6. Madame DeFarge | 09.16.08

We won’t have a Constitution for much longer if the Republicans keep using it as toilet paper.

McCain’s qualified to be prez, but he’s out of touch and may be losing it. Palin’s a paranoid, vindictive authoritarian who cheerfully threw her preggo daughter and Down syndrom son under the bus to further her own career.

Obama and Biden aren’t perfect and I disagree with quite a few of the positions (mainly on health care) but they are aware of what’s going on in the world and have the competence and intelligence to do something about it. Obama has been vetted by the same primary process that McCain went through and Biden has years of experience in the senate.

Of course, this doesn’t matter one bit to the “god, guts and guns” crowd who want to bring on the Rapture so they can go “neener neener” to all of the people who aren’t their special brand of Christian.

CHEVY CHASE: Well, I thought, I mean, it’s extraordinary how well she (Tina Fey) played her and how much she looked like her. I’d just like her to be—personally I felt we didn’t need the Hillary stuff. I’d like her to go even harder. I want her to decimate this woman. This is a, this woman is, I mean I can’t believe isn’t more about her. All the media have and the press have been going “oh, she’s a wonderful, oh God, her speech was great.” Just unbelievable to me that this woman is running for vice-president.

Ha ha, Lexi! You do a fine job of representing our under-informed and intellectually lazy liberal friends (some would say “brain dead”, but let’s not go there). Finding hostility where there is none and making up oxymorons like “semi-automatic assault weapons” . . . what a HOOT! Thanks for the laugh.

10. d | 09.16.08

Sam is funny.
he obviously doesnt know what he’s talking about.

Did the founding fathers invision telephones? TVs?
I didnt think so. Does that mean we shouldnt have them? I didnt think so.
Go watch TV, Sam, you *****BAG!

11. SAM | 09.16.08

Hey, Lexi… several are FULLY automatic. And, despite your nasty rebuttal, I will remain on guard for you and your ilk. That’s what LIBERTY is all about. Love it or leave it. I love it, and my family has for centuries. Of course, maybe you and Barb Streisand can go to Oprah’s fif things get bad.

12. SAM | 09.16.08

Your right, ‘d’, it didn’t. The less government the better. However, since you probably have never served your nation in any other capacity than consumer I am sure it is a difficult concept for you to grasp. It may soon be time for us to demonstrate how ’smart’ we are. I’ll be busy growing and harvesting food for my family and my neighbors. And, I am especially excited by the open loop geothermal heating/cooling system we incorporated into our standing column well, that also supplied us with plenty of fresh drinking water. We are fortunate that grandpa’s windmill configuration is still efficient allowing for us to pump the water without electricity. Of course, the solar panels we put on our roof last year shores up the electrical supply just fine. You see, you libs think you know so much more than the rest of the world. You are SO smart. And yet, us country bumpkins have been living green all along. BTW, my Masters degree, obtained with merit scholarships from a State University (Big Ten) gave me access to a better income, as well. We weren’t poor, we were hard working and improved our lot without begging the Government to do it for us. That’s America. If you do not like that America, perhaps you should divorce yourself from it. I personally have no problem with you engaging in beastiality or whatever, s long as you do it at home and don’t expose me and mine to it. Why are you so put out by my desire to shield you from the fruits of my clearly ill-gotten gains? I’m sure you don’t want my blood money, so I have no intention of sending you any more. The tax man is not welcome in these parts, my friend. We know Obama far too well in Illinois. Why don’t you try him out for size in your State for a couple of years and get back with us. Noli Me Tangere!

13. SAM | 09.16.08

BTW, ‘d’…

it’s envision.

14. haugh | 09.16.08

Lay off the meth pipe Sam, its making you crazy.

15. JER | 09.16.08

SAME FOR YOU HAUGH….LAY OFF THE CANDY FOR THE NOSE!!!!!

16. mrc is a QUACK! | 09.16.08

SAM, you should take your own advice.
“I personally have no problem with you engaging in beastiality or whatever, s long as you do it at home and don’t expose me and mine to it”

you crazy christians have been going all over the world trying to spread your nonsense. Why dont you guys just keep it to yourselves????

Religious people are not welcome in these parts. Id rather be hangin with the tax man, at least hes not crazy, hes just doing his job.

BTW - I could give a **** what capacity you have served your country, and I mean that…

17. Becca | 09.16.08

Nugent clearly needs to journey back to the CENTER OF HIS MIND…..or what’s left of it.

He’s been known to do more than his share of drugs, at least back in the day….now, he’s just GRAMPS GOTTA GUN.

18. Rusty | 09.16.08

I am shocked that Chevy Chase wants Sarah Palin “decimated!” I am no longer a fan of Chevy Chase! The liberal Hollywood wackos need tpo stay out of the real world, like having a $28,000 dinner, while people in Texas don’t even have homes.

19. Republican4Obama | 09.16.08

We’re supposed to care what Ted Nugent thinks? Are you serious? Get real people! What a joke.

20. Paul | 09.16.08

Nugent the washed up rock-n-roller now gets attention being hunting’s ‘buck fever’ king - kind of like a rodeo clown for the gun rack crowd. He does a good job at it, but frankly I’d listen to a rodeo clown first - who has a serious job under all the makeup and funny noses - a real first responder.

21. blip | 09.16.08

Haha! The Nuge! Now that’s a celebrity I’d trust to make the right choices for America…

…especially if you want America to return to days of no running water, dirt roads, and cholera epidemics.

Yeehaw!

22. Mary | 09.16.08

I was undecided and wouldn’t classify myself as a democrat or as a republican. Palin’s nomination for VP has forced me to side with Obama/Biden.

23. Big Mac | 09.16.08

Palin has the makings of the 21st century Teddy Roosevelt!

24. Aaron | 09.16.08

I’m no republican, but Ted Nugent is the man, anything that comes out of his mouth or fingers is pure gold.

25. Kelly | 09.16.08

You know what, I have to agree with ted on this. Cusack ,by the way, just contradicted himself. He described a national healthcare system.

26. Raj | 09.16.08

The hate and hypocrisy of the democrats is just mindboggling.

Just a few days ago, Obama said “I have accepted Jesus Christ as my redeemer”?

HUH?

Does anyone with ANY political acumen, really believe that he believes in “jesus”? And in the favorite jewish cult of the emperor’s mother, which was then spread to the wooden-idol-worshipping germanic tribes? :) Comical.

If so, does he believe the bible is the word of “god”? That makes him a creationist. All we see are questions about whether Palin is a creationist. Hypocrisy on her part is much more forgivable than from a sneering super-sophisticate.

And how come Sarah Palin’s “Looks” are being criticized by the late night comics, when they haven’t dared to do it to youknowwho?

I’ll vote against hate and hypocrisy.

27. What | 09.16.08

Who is Ted Nugent?

28. Michael | 09.16.08

Make sure you wipe off the keyboard after your done Sam.

29. Who | 09.16.08

seriously, who is he? we all know matt damon; he got some academy awards and stuff. also, he seems pretty cool. but who is ted nugent? please explain for the non-*******. thx.

30. Lexi | 09.16.08

Thank you Brian and Sam for making my point and easing my guilt. For a second I thought I had gone too far, but now I realize I hadn’t gone far enough. Sorry to say I have to leave this enlightening conversation. The real world is calling. Happy blogging.

Lexi :)

31. Lexi | 09.16.08

BTW, SAM…

it’s “if” not fif. :)

32. Ogel | 09.16.08

Hey Sam, You made an error on assault rifles. An assault rifle is both semi and full automatic. A selector switch puts the weapon in either full or semi auto. The most common concept and use is the full auto. PS with your masters degree due you know where the term assault rifle came from.

33. Brian | 09.16.08

That not-so-calm part is too funny!

34. chris | 09.16.08

Ted Nugent. Ha, what a talentless load of **** he is. Sold many records lately, Ted? Maybe Jon Bon Jovi could show you a thing or two on how to fill up a stadium. Go shoot something, ya loser, preferably yourself.

35. Mike D | 09.16.08

Did anybody see Biden tell the guy in the wheelchair to stand up?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2mzbuRgnI4

36. Jondy | 09.16.08

My comment is for BigMac: I think you need to read some serious scholarly biographies of Teddy Roosevelt. Comparing Sara Palin to his presidency and his life, committed to honesty, decency, hard work, doing what is best for the people and so on, is a supreme insult. Teddy spend many years of his life working hard to fight corruption and greed in both government and private business because it was the right thing to do. I don’t believe Palin’s credentials come even close, and I am not sure about her motives either.

37. 2008-McPalin | 09.16.08

Damon should check facts: McCain’s mother is 96 years young. John, in all likelihood, will serve two full terms, with plenty of gas to retire. Ted, you are so right.

38. Micheal | 09.16.08

“Hypocrisy on her part is much more forgivable than from a sneering super-sophisticate.”

So please tell me Raj, Palin’s ignorance make her hypocrisy OK? She doesn’t have to have experience because she is a country bumpkin and that excuses her? WOW, how are these people allowed to vote?

39. Transoniq1 | 09.16.08

Nugent…what a dork…to watch him play his simpelton power chords, run after wild game and yap about blood (in the name of “conservation”) is truly exemplifying a moronic common denominator which seems to appeal to monster truck fans everywhere…Oh, by the way, I think he has contracted Jacobs-Kruetzfeld disease from all the tainted deer meat he has consumed…that may also explain his Tourette’s Syndrome-like rants.

40. Sam’s | 09.16.08

Hey, Ogel… you might want to do more than read a book about firearms. And, Haugh… where did SAM note anything in his comment about religion? Please, point it out to me. Wow, he never wished one lib or dem ill. In fact, he assured them of their safety from persecution by pledging loyalty to our Constitution. As he said, “that’s what Liberty is all about.” I’ll never understand why sophomores always feel the need to use fifty cent words when dropping a dime will do ya’ Lexi and friends should report to Speech and Debate 101, immediately!

41. AmericanNurseryTwit | 09.16.08

Why should we listen to anything Ted Nugent says, he cant even tell the truth to his wife, family and members about his aldultry. Karen Gutowski is the groupie that Ted had to drill and oops, she was fertile. Now Ted has to pay child support. All the while preaching family values, being voted “Father of the Year” at his sons high school. Wonder what all them parents and teachers thought after it came out that he committed adultry?

Just shut up Ted.

42. Sam’s Friends | 09.16.08

Ogel, “due” tell. Because we “due” not know. Is it as specific as the Bush Doctrine? Some might argue it to be as archaic as the Jaeger rifle, first introduced into North America by the Jaeger Corps, in the 18th Century (the barrel was relatively short allowing for use on horse or in the bush). In fact, this rifle gave birth to the later Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Kentucky long rifles) Many Americans use the colloquialism ‘assault rifle’ in reference to a host of small arms using rounds common to signatory nations of and approved by the Geneva Convention. The selector switch you speak of is common to US standard issue weapons. You may find, with further experience, not all have the ability to function in a semi-auto manner, especially after they have been modified for use.

43. Pauk | 09.16.08

Why do people have so many different opionions on what an assault rifle is. I have a few guns, if the Clinton’s and other looney liberals are right, half of my guns are “assault rifles”. Anything that is capable of being full auto is banned anyway (which i am not opposed to). If they are criminals they are criminals and they will get their hands on anything they want if they look hard enough. Next will we want to ban any knife that is longer than “x” inches?

44. emjuan | 09.16.08

Hearing the Dem’s and the pub’s arguing about their best candidate makes me think of baptist and Presbyterians. The only difference is how they get their head wet. Until someone can put american’s first and quit supplying the world (even our enemies) with bailouts using our taxed income. We will always be on the losing side of politics.

45. Madame DeFarge | 09.16.08

Palin, Obama and McCain are all channeling bits of good old Teddy Roosevelt.

McCain’s challenging Roosevelt the Rough Rider who sent out the Great White Fleet. Obama’s channeling Roosevelt the progressive. And Palin’s channeling Roosevent the Great White Hunter. Biden seems to be the odd man out.

46. Redneck Liberal | 09.17.08

“Rock star”??????

47. Katie | 09.17.08

Please, for the sake of the rest of the world, please don’t let McCain/Palin in the White House. I’m do young to die of nuclear radiation poisoning that will float its way over from the US and Russia. We’re just getting rid of Bush, we don’t need any more right-wing, nearing fascist imperialists who like oil.

48. Michael Hunter | 09.17.08

For all of you whom think that Palin is “absurd” or “unqualified” need to take a look at what’s on their own platter. Joe Biden bleeds from the mouth obsurd lies and insane racist and disciminatory codswallop that does not need to be used in such a (completely regrettably) politically correct society. Not to mention that, Barack Obama has much less experience than does Sarah Palin, but it’s even more obsurd to be comparing Obama and Palin head to head as they are comparing way different titles. It would be like comparing my chemisty professor with the cashier in the cafeteria at my college. It’s only a blooter whom would do such OBAMAnable comparisons. Also, look at all the insanely stupid attack advertisements being poured upon society. They’re absolutely misdirected at the proper audience that Obama needs to be targeting. It shows how unintelligent the contributers with their marketing degrees or political science degrees, truly are. They are pandering to try and obtain the young vote (ages 18-30). However, the Obama/Biden campaign have previously stated that they already have that vote. One of their most recent ads talking about John McCain not being able to send an e mail is one such case. How do you think my mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, elders, will feel when they hear that he can’t send an e mail? They will just mutter to themselves “Ahh, who cares! Surely not me!” Also, they quickly fail to mention why “John McCain can’t use a computer”. The reason John can’t use a computer is due to the beatings he received from the soldiers as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. John McCain does have some paralasis, but are you going to be the one to fault him for that? If so, please do so and make sure you do it publically as you will be looked upon as the filth of this earth. Going back to Sarah Palin, Sarah Palin has led her state into being in a growing economy due to the amount of commercial success and lack of spending, that has gone on due to Sarah and her administration. Mothers around this earth are beginning to see Sarah in themselves and see that they too feeln they have what it takes to be president. Lastly, I’ll get back to your marxist candidate Barack Obama. As many of you heard the other day, the democrats were referring to Sarah Palin as being like Pilot, the man whom ordered the death of Jesus Christ (my personal Lord and Savior) and Barack Obama being like Jesus Christ because Jesus was a community organizer. I quickly thought in my mind and confirmed via Strongs Concordance, that nowhere within the Bible does it say that Jesus was a community organizer. I see Sarah Palin being like the new Ronald Reagen. People hated Ronald Reagan and thought he too was not qualified. Are they still saying that? And I just hope “I made your mind purr, with the strokes of my hand and I hope your gettin’ it from” not me, but John McCain and Sarah Palin, the true 2 to be in office for 2008.

49. Horace Brownbag | 09.17.08

When you have squabbles such as this and you want to know who is making the better argument…there is a quick and dirty acid test:

Ask the hypothetical:

Who is more likely to get tossed into the drunk tank on drunk and disorderly charges?

The other person becomes the more sensible choice with whom to agree.

50. Wacko Nugent | 09.17.08

Ha, ha, ha, Nugents rambling again! What a fruitcake. I AM a hunter and own several guns and SAM, I’ll have you know that I DID serve my country and I’ve NEVER heard about your service. Just where and when did YOU serve, you whining little maggot? Palin’s a joke and McCain should just give it up and head off to a resthome to find what’s left of his brainstem. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows that Obama and Biden are the only halfway decent choice in this election. Get over it.

51. Skyview | 09.17.08

Nugent is a twit. just like most of those other gun hugging, tough talking cowboy sissies who make up the the repubs…They think growing a beard, chewing tobacco and driving a pickup with BIG tire make them manly.

52. Michael | 09.17.08

You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT….

‘From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World …. 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America ? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Please, please forward this before it’s too late!!!!

53. Pauk | 09.17.08

i agree….that even kind of wierds me out that he was basically setting all this up from the very beginning like he was on a mission from the time he was in harvard. who trusts lawyers anyway. they are just the best liars.

54. SAM | 09.17.08

Hey, Wacko:

I hold a number of MOSs, including 11B and 54B. My active service was in the 3rd US Inf., my reserve service was with the Army during Desert Shield/Storm, and the last ten years, or so, were spent in the Army Guard. I have never denied any American their right to opinion, et al. In fact, some of the best argumentation about issues facing our nation took place among the men of my units who TRULY represented a diverse America. However, your posts make it clear why the intolerance of the Left is an unacceptable position to propel to the White House. Debate, disputation and even caustic wit seem to catapult you and yours into tantrums precluding your reason from functioning. Now, Hero, with that lack of cool, you strike me as someone far from desirable to count on in a ‘tight spot’. You know what I mean Gomer Pyle? Still, like Canada, we’ll stand on guard for thee, Wacko. BTW, that was the moniker you gave yourself. I defer to you.

Love, SAM

55. Big Riggs | 09.17.08

Becca,
get your facts straight, nugent was never known to excessively use drugs or drink, his drug was women, he loved them and that was his drug of choice, and besides people who own guns legally are not the ones committing crimes with them, its the inner city black folks who do the majority of that, oh yeah and they happen to be the ones voting for Obama, and this SAM guy seems rather intelligent and well spoken, maybe when you graduate from college and pay for things on your own, or stop waiting so patiently for your welfare check, you might actually understand how the economy works, i guess it would be in your favor because all of these new taxes are going right to needless big government programs that benifit you and your welfare. I recieve no fiscal assisstance from the government and am proud of it…..and also own a few semi auto and a few fully auto weapons….legally, and they are quite fun so god bless america

56. summerbreeze | 09.17.08

Awesome! I love Ted Nugent!

57. Donald | 09.17.08

Hey Michael, you say the stuff below…but what was Reagan’s occupation beforehand? What about the Republican governor of California. There’s even been a professional wrestler as governor.

You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience…. Blah blah blah. But as a republican you apparently don’t need any experience.

58. Ms face | 09.17.08

no way! Sam you were in the army? coooool. did you have guns? sweeeet! why didn’t you mention that before?

this is tiring. did you just call this a political argument? you’re just yelling at people.

I know a handful of you Sams, you are THAT guy craving attention and starved for respect.

60. SAM | 09.17.08

Why wouldn’t Elvis support Obama? Dead people have been voting for Democrats for years. Chicago was made famous by them. Many, in fact, died from smoking the free cigarettes DNC operatives were handing out to entice people out to vote in Chicago and Detroit in ‘04. How quickly they forget! We do not. Still, that Barry O’Biden is one ‘hunka burnin love’. Maybe he and the late King can tour from November on… he won’t have anything else to do. And, he can just phone in his ‘present’ vote to the Senate from the road. Thank you, thank you very much!

Palin as a VP choice has changed my vote from undecided to McCain and Palin, I am a registered democrat. Osama could easily become President, that is unbelievable and unacceptable.

62. Will C. Justice | 09.17.08

I am not a young man, but never in my lifetime have I seen anything as reminiscent of Hoover’s Great Depression as America today–banks failing and hundreds of thousands of Americans losing their homes. For the first time in my lifetime, people are worried about whether the money they have in the bank is safe.

This nation cannot afford four more years of Republican rule. And there’s one big reason.

Forget personalities, inexperience. racism, sexism, and war hero talk. It’s the ideas that the candidates and the parties cherish that really matter.

The same ideas that produced the Hoover Depression are alive and well in today’s Republican party–no taxes for the rich, subsidies for big corporations, no government regulation by the federal government, and the supremacy of states rights.

Change the name from Hoover to McCain to Palin on the economy, and the answers they give are interchangeable.

I’ve shortened my comments here because I know I’m blogging, but if you want to see more on this subject, go to a great website I found with the url http://www.howtotalkback.

I personally heard Rush Limbaugh say that it was his goal to undo everything that FDR did.

Now it’s no secret that nobody has more influence over Republican thought than Rush. And it’s no secret what Rush believes: government is bad and federal regulation is a plague.

But I wonder if Rush realizes that the FDIC–a program of the federal government put in place by FDR–is the main thing right now that’s keeping America from an economic collapse.

One of my friends asked me why I wasn’t voting Republican. “Don’t you want to keep more of your money?”

My answer? If Republicans continue to rule, and they follow the Hoover, McCain, Palin script, AND THE BANKS FAIL, neither she nor I will have any money to keep.

What we need is a President who sounds like FDR, not a Hoover sound-alike.
–Will C. Justice

I know we all think we are right and i respect everyones opinion. Obama has way to many questionable friends for me to vote for him. i know some of them may not be his friends, just supporters but thats close enough. Farrakhan, resco, rev. wright, ayers and pfleger. Thats five…usually every candidate has one friend thats a little nutty or has a bad reputation, but FIVE??? Yea he would make a great president if you enjoy the entertainment that would probably come with him as president.

no(38)-Michael:
Before launching into the exasparated tones of who allowed anybody to vote, tell me something. Did you know Palin vetoed a bill that denied gay couples health benefits? Does this sound like the action of a “Creationist”/fundie?

65. SAM | 09.17.08

Well, Ms Face…, again you make my point. You don’t know me at all, yet you are willing to generalize with no argument. Yes, I was in the Army and proud of it. I didn’t go to Harvard, so I don’t wear Harvard t-shirts. And, it’s NOT the same as being a football fan. But, we remain mired in the muck of sophomoric diatribes.

The President’s job is to ‘preside’. Legislators are tasked with legislating (that is making law, for those of you too young to have actually taken a civics class… prior to them being considered ‘politically biased instruments of the master narrative’). Yes, I’d love to have McCain/Palin ‘presiding’ at a meeting and asking someone to ‘come clean’ in the interest of the American taxpayer.

I can’t wait for Vice President Palin to ask Speaker Pillossi to explain it again. You know, in the American Indian - and, yes, that is the acceptable term… it distinguishes FBIs (full blood indians) from the Native born anglos, afros, asios, etceteros - in the American Indian society one is often heard asking an elder to tell the story again so it can be better understood.

Your charge of Palin’s inexperience in the ways of Washington may not have the same taboo for the rest of us as it does for you. Where is your outrage at Congress? Rather, you seemingly hate any old, nondescript gun and, of course, the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who serve in a volunteer capacity, unlike the conscription armies of tyrannical governments.

The liberties and rights you enjoy, and responsibilities you may or may not accept, as a citizen of this nation are safeguarded by those persons and those institutions. Contrary to the ever popular, ambiguously anti-establishment, sentiments of our diverse American youth, the military of this country is the very breeding ground of true democracy.

Unlike the antiseptic environments of Ivy League schools and Long Island country clubs, the military forces men and women of ALL walks of American life to live together in Peace. Peace is the hope and prayer (or just a nonreligious wish) of every service member. Some, filled with the same sort of hate and nastiness that these posts reflect do enter the service. And, that element either tempers the manner of their confrontations or find themselves ‘out processed’. There is, however, nearly unbridled conversation and debate.

Too bad the more lauded halls of academia don’t have the confidence to foster the same. Yes, Ms Face. I’m a gun-toten, meat eatin’, beer drinkin’, sixty hours a week between my office job and family obligations kind of guy. Just a thought, but maybe if you lightened up and got to know one of those ‘Sams’ like me, you might find he was not who you thought he was, but rather exactly what you wanted.

Honestly, you sound a little frustrated, you know… up tight. Send us a pic and we’ll PhotoShop you into a bathing suit. C’mon, it’ll make you feel better :) TTFN… No, you don’t know me at all.

66. SAM | 09.17.08

Sorry about the accidental second post, MsFace. I know… I must be a baby killer to have pushed return more than once:)

67. Mark | 09.18.08

This baby is in the bag people. The Palin pick was brilliant on McCain’s behalf. I am not a huge McCain supporter, but this one is over with, no doubt about it. I said all along that if Obama wanted a chance, Hillary should have been his Veep selection.

It is over…possibly a landslide for the Repubs! Mark my words…it’s over!

68. SLM | 09.18.08

I am neither Republican nor Democrat but I am honestly sick with the remarks I have heard from celebrities and politicians. First off, national healthcare? I have experienced first hand national healthcare in Canada and it was hands down the worst medical experience of my life. People were inline for “headaches” just to make sure they were ok. I had a broken leg and I waited three hours for an xray then another for a mri. Then it took the doctor another hour to inform me it was broken and sent me out with wooden crutches. The hospital was in St. Catherines, Ontario. But also, who is going to pay for it? I work my *** off to pay for my families, I do not want my experience to suffer to pay for some illegal alien to benefit from. That is not what America is about. America is about going out and making your own way. There is nothing free in life. Do you really think the Hillary Clinton would go to a free healthcare center? Or how about Ted Kennedy? I highly doubt it. I believe in the welfare system to a degree; however, my grandfather was an immigrant during the depression and never was given a handout. America is the land of oppurtunity, not a land for the lazy.

69. Michael Hunter | 09.19.08

Donald: you’re quite an amazing fellow, but not in a good way. To say that the Republicans have no experience is in itself, a bunch of codswallop and habadash that doesn’t serve any purpose but to mislead yourself into the untolerable lies that serve your brain as truths.

Try doing a little research, look into the truth of matters, learn to have faith and truly look into who is looking out for the Americans, but most of all, yourself! I am not going say “Democrats” or “Republicans” when I refer to idiots or people with some intelligence in them because I look at politics and beliefs much like I look at religion.

I am a sinner that has been born again by the blood of Christ. If I tell someone that, they then ask me what denomination I am and this is not such an easy question. The reason I personally don’t like this question is the meaning of denomination is to devide.

Political parties are the same way and to toss all people whom call themselves republicans or democrats specific names, is irresponsible and rather foolish. It is only without deep thought and an impulsive manner & tongue, would someone spill such irrelevant drivel such as this. All I ask is that you look a little further than the “talking points” or other pointless gossip that you probably read while waiting at the local hair salon, in the magazines like US Weekly or Time, whom are pinheads for only reporting parts of stories to boost their political beliefs.

You see, it is faith and beliefs that guide us in a process like this, and this is just one more example of why I see it much like religion. So, don’t lump us into a crowd because you don’t know us and you don’t know if we believe everything that he or she does. However, I personally, do not believe in Socialism or any true beliefs of Karl Marx and what can be found in the Communist Manifesto! I suggest you take a look at these, read this historical (trash) piece and notice the similarities to what Obama says in his numerous rants, as well as then look in the similarities of their core beliefs.

Oh, one more thing: make sure you save an entire night to read it because chances are, Obamas views may have changed by the next day! And, once more, I have stated one more case and let these truths me seen possibly as fact, as they are in my mind and shared hopefully by many throughout or blessed nation!

Ted Nugent’s biggest political accomplishment was championing a bill to allow hunting of doves (the bird of peace) in Michigan. It failed…miserably. A lot of hunting advocates blamed it on “liberal animal rights nutjobs who hate hunting” but the truth of the matter is that it was normal ordinary people, who realize how stupid the prospect was, voted it down. Something like 70% voted against, in a state where hunting is a childhood pasttime. You can’t blame that on liberal PETA crunchies. So Ted, mister bow-hunting outdoorsman, would rather support a woman who pushes through bills to allow shooting wolves from airplanes. Any true outdoorsman would find the prospect wholly UN-sportsmanlike. This guy is the poster-child for inane wanna-be cowboy jagoffs.

Thanks Sam. Keep up the good work.

Libs, maybe you should read the constitution before you argue with Sam or Nugent.

McCain / Palin 2008

72. Will | 09.23.08

Republican Boneheads wont acknowldege that Obama graduated Manga *** Laude with a Masters in Constitutional Law from Harvard….they think Ted Nugent knows more about the Constitution.. OMG.. hey btw ask Palin if she believes in Dinosaurs.

73. Scott | 09.23.08

Having to pick the lesser of 2 evils, I have to vote with McCain. However, my guy would have been Ron Paul. We need to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Education, among MANY others. National healthcare should make everyone cringe. This trillion dollar bail out is B.S. Maybe I should start a company, run it into financial ruin, and then ask the government to steal $3,000+ from every man, woman, and child in America to keep my company running.

Also, what happened to “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country?

It’s turned into “Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you”

74. SAM | 09.23.08

Hey, Will:

Point of fact, I was accepted to Harvard. Really. And, in fact, I was accepted to several other colleges/universities as well during my high school application process. However, despite some financial scholarship awards, I chose to attend the University of Illinois U-C. You see, despite my parents committing to being married and raising their children in a stable and loving home, and my father working as a union railroad man for 38 years, and my own accomplishments academically, the tuition was too much of a burden for me to justify. Further, Illinois had a better library. It still does. So, I attended my State school, where after returning from my military service I received a terminal degree in my field. Get it? And, I assure you, there is a reason we have SO many attorneys. LAW SCHOOL IS A BREEZE. Try engineering, chemistry, etc. ****, most art programs are more demanding. Law programs are just expensive. And, when you have terrorist sugar daddies it probably alleviates much of the financial anxiety. Perhaps, when you graduate and begin an adult career with adult responsibilities you will change your mind about things. Perhaps not. I hope, none-the-less, that you will at the very least hone your skills in the area of disputation. Per your post, you seem rather simple. Oskee Wow Wow! *** all my best, SAM

75. MissAnthropic | 09.26.08

I see the Obamamaniacs are making their rounds to all the sites. Your behavior is sickening to hard working Americans like myself. Can you get your heads out of the clouds long enough to realize that Obama/Biden will be the end of this great country? Our way of life? Are you so blinded that you can’t see the lies? BarackObama=NicholaeCarpathia. Think about it.

76. Ms Dee | 10.08.08

I guess I’m tired of all the men who are afraid of a strong, intelligent woman. I’m not a woman’s libber by a long shot. Sara Palin is a no B… Sh.. kind of lady who is not going to put up with politics as usual. Men don’t like intelligent ladies. It compromises their masculinity. As far as her lack of experience, I think George Bush has a lack of experience as well, but you know the white house has many, many advisors for all of the politicians to inform them on what they need to know. I for one am not going to elect a rookie with Muslim ties into the White House.

77. Nick | 10.24.08

Right on #77 Open Minded! I’m sick of the bickering of both sides. (I dismiss the actors whose political expertise is drama class!)
Like him or not, Reagan had it right! Him and Tip Oneal were on opposite sides politically, yet used to drink a cold one at a D.C. tavern bargaining back and forth until they compromised for the good of the country.
I MISS that kind of politician and am sick of the whiny, finger pointers in BOTH parties!

78. Catiline | 10.24.08

He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment, he says. “… but if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed, or I’d killed all the hippies in the foxholes…I would have killed everybody.” - Detroit Free Press Magazine , July 15, 1990

79. Tommy | 10.24.08

I find it insulting and absurd that people are afraid that Palin will be present so they are voting for Barack.
Lets look at Obama’s associations and accomplishments….
First…his accomplishments…there are none… a blank page, nothing, zero.
His associations range from radicals to racist….
It is illogical to say that you are backing Obama because you are afraid that Palin may become president. Palin has more executive experience than Barack himself. McCain is running for president.

80. FreedomFighter | 10.28.08

I now come to a conclusion…
“Liberalism is a mental disorder…”
