First it was Paris and Britney, now Lindsay joins the campaign
By Jimmy Orr | 09.18.08
The celebs keep popping back into the presidential campaign. But unlike party girls Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, who were inadvertently thrust into the campaign, Lindsay Lohan inserted herself into the discussion, according to Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker.
Apparently Lohan just wanted to help Obama and thought she could reach out to younger voters by hosting some events. Nice enough.
No thanks
But the Obama campaign wasn’t interested, as Zweicker explained:
However, a top source in the Barack Obama team tells me the actress ”is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us.”
Given Lohan’s past problems, plus ongoing brushes with controversy, I’ve learned the campaign quietly told the actress ”thanks, but no thanks,” but in far more diplomatic terms.
No traction
At first, it looked like when the story might quietly go away. There was a minor kerfuffle between the two campaign’s spokespeople, but it wasn’t gaining any traction. With all the news yesterday focused on the economy and then the Palin email breach, there just wasn’t the bandwidth for this story to bubble up for recognition.
There’s always tomorrow
Enter Lohan’s talkative father, Michael.
FOX News is reporting Lohan’s Dad became upset with the word of the campaign’s dismissal.
“For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be,” Michael Lohan told Pop Tarts via e-mail on Wednesday night.
“His visions of a positive future for this country should be representative of a positive future for people as well. It is looking beyond the difficult times and letting go of the past,” Michael said. “Obviously, Obama can do this for himself and not others, when in fact a good president should have hope for all.”
And another
The entertainment website TMZ also received a note from Michael. They prefaced his remarks by saying, “But we think he might be taking LiLo a lil’ too seriously, at least right now.”
<< Palin’s hacked email account — what’s next? | Main“Everyone is entitled to an opinion and so is Obama and his staff. Then again, you know what they say about opinions. Unfortunately, for them, to make such a comment about my daughter was a big mistake … Look at Angelina Jolie and the wonderful things she has done in her life, and now watch how Lindsay does the same.”

This is toooo funny!! Wall Street is crashing and we are talking about Lohan getting her feelings hurt!!
3. Grimy | 09.18.08
What a baby.
If you want to help somebody, you go and get in where you fit in. If you want to help yourself, you tell everybody how you are going to help, and then throw a hissy fit if they don’t want the kind of help you are offering.
Her dad should just sit this one out. I bet Lindsay understands this. Too bad her old man doesn’t.

“The Real Scoop On Palin’s Staged Town Hall Meeting — Another Pretend Moment!
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/
So, what was the catch? Unlike most town-hall events, which are open to the public, include diverse crowds, and no one needs an advance invitation, this event was for ticket-holders only. And the only way to get a ticket was through the local Republican Party, after an advance RSVP. No wonder Palin was prepared to play “stump the candidate” — it was a very friendly crowd that had no interest in testing her.
It doesn’t exactly sound like a vote of confidence in the candidates’ ability to answer tough questions, does it?”
How long will the GOP continue to get away with lying, cheating and deceiving the American people? McCain and Palin are frauds.
5. Shut Up!!! | 09.18.08
Shut up Michael, let Lindsay stand up for herself. If she chooses to support Obama she can do so without the campaign permission. Politically, she does not represent the party well, but she can be beneficial. It will only give McCain more of a reason to complain and stray away from the issues.

Who cares about Lindsay Lohan. There’s a lot more important issues that need to be addressed. Economy, Dollar plunge, Wall Street woes, Firma failing, Wars, Terrorism…etc
Focus on the issues and lets leave all these spoilt rich brats to do whatever they want…
7. eww… | 09.18.08

‘no comment,no comment,no comment,about lindsay’

Maybe people should be more concerned with the moral implications of this election. Far too many people are all about themselves, and our country ahs delveloped into the most selfish nation living on this earth. Most people should realize that its not about them and is about Him. Those who get to read this will understand what I mean. This is another attempt to jump on a band wagon to get themselves out a hot spot. Maybe we should focus on the real celebrities, our military. If Mr. Obama is elected, watch how quickly he will try to remove our support for God’s own people, Israel. Mark my words and you might want to look up dhimmitude (it’s pronounced with a Z-sound at the beginning).

This is another opportunity for Michael Lohan’s relentless self-promition. It has nothing to do with his drug-addled daughter, who is drug-addled precisely because he has always used her to promote his own fame and fortune, as has her mother. If I were Obama, I would have dismissed this creepy clan as well, in an instant.

Who cares what the Lohans think? If they want to help the Obama campaign, they can start by shutting up.
11. Eraticus | 09.18.08
As always, the Lohan’s have their priorities in order.
Race for the Presidency of the most powerful nation on the planet at a historical crossroad that could determine the very survival of the human race VS. Spoiled daughter’s feelings not getting to play politics with the big guys Hmmm…let’s see which is more important.

Mark | 09.18.08: “If Mr. Obama is elected, watch how quickly he will try to remove our support for God’s own people…”. Israel. What on earth would drive you say such a thing? Obama, as far as I know, has never said anthing that would indicate such an act. On the other hand…God’s people = Israel? Is that the only place where one can find, “God’s people?” You never know these days.

I thought the Democratic Party was a party of inclusion, I thought they were tolerant and non-judging of all lifestyles. Oh yeah, that’s right, they’ve replaced the Republicans with their “Holier Than Thou” attitudes. You’re damned if you are pro-life, you’re damned if you opt to bring a baby with special needs into the world, you’re damned if you are an unwed mother, you’re damned if you’re a woman who chooses to remain ambitious while raising a large family, and you’re damned if you have an addiction problem. Yes, yes, let’s vote them into the Whitehouse so we can all be damned!!

Why not accept her support? She would fit in nicely with some of the other Hollywood riffraff who’s supporting Obama. It seems a tad bit hypocritical, when you think of some of his former compadres who helped him get elected to the Illinois State Legislature and the U.S. Senate. Anyone remember the racist, anti-American Rev. Wright and the terrorist Bill Ayers, among others? Surely, poor Lindsey is an improvement over those bozos.
15. Hilary Smith | 09.19.08
Republicans would have used Lohan’s volunteerism to assail Obama. Duh. Now they act like he’s being so unfair. What a bunch of phonies.
16. reno | 09.19.08
I want to how a bunch of parties to promote myself/Obama. Do you think he’ll go for it?
LOL.

the economy is falling apart, our nation is headed towards a disasterous, peril fraught future and the CSM sees this as news. isn’t this listed as one of the seven signs in the book of Revelation?
