Chris Matthews: “Keep your eye on Palin”

By Jimmy Orr | 01.27.09

Not even a week after questioning whether Sarah Palin was literate, MSNBC Hardball host Chris Mattthews issued a warning: “Keep your eye on Palin.”

He was reacting to the news today that the Alaska governor launched a political action committee called SarahPAC.

The committee, a surprise to no one, allows her to stay in the game. She can use the money to offer support to like-minded candidates and donate to their campaigns. John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee have all formed their own PACs following their individual demises during the 2008 election.

Matthews said tonight that history could lend itself to a Palin nomination.

“Although there are skeptics, the pattern is clear here,” he said. “When the Republicans get beat running a moderate like Nixon in 1960 or Jerry Ford in 76 or McCain in 08, the next time they tend to go right.

“Goldwater in ‘64, Reagan in ‘80, maybe Palin in ‘12,” he continued. “That’s the pattern. Maybe it’ll change but maybe it won’t. Keep your eye on Palin.”

Unselfish love

No, no, no. This is not about a run for higher office. At least that’s what the spokespeople at SarahPAC are saying (apparently straight-faced).

Spokesperson Pam Pryor told Alaska’s KTUU that this is all about helping others.

“This is not an exploratory committee,” the spokesperson said. “And whether it was (Sen. Saxby) Chambliss in December, whatever, there are just a lot of requests coming in and this will kind of harness that energy. This is not about a future run for her.”

Mixed reactions

As you can imagine, news of this PAC is greeted with excitement by some, loathing by others, and to comedy writers — jubilation.

Both Indecision 2008 and the Wonkette had similar reactions to her logo which features the state of Alaska superimposed in the middle of the continental U.S.

“Judging by her logo, it appears that Sarah Palin’s idea of energy independence involves drilling a hole the size and shape of Alaska into the Midwest,” writes Indecision’s Mary Phillips-Sandy.

Wonkette states, “According to the logo, her mission will be to create an enormous Alaska-shaped lake in the Midwest, with an aqueduct to foster commerce with northern Mexico.”

after watching chris matthews more than once I think he is an idiot.

2. CVP | 01.27.09

Does anyone really care what Chris Matthews has to say?

3. Greg | 01.27.09

Dear God lets hope she runs. May be our only hope. The path were headed down is failure as a country. The ignorance and utter stupidity of which the left bases their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view on whats best for our country will be the end of us all. The greed and sheep like following of Obama is indeed probably our demise.

4. roncee | 01.27.09

The mere fact that anything that Sarah Palin does drives the liberal left into a frenzy is comedy in itself! Keep it up Sarah, you’re causing them untold sleepless nights! :-) :-) :-)

5. John Logan | 01.27.09

The person who is best qualified on the Repubican tiket in 2012 is General Petraus. He has the leadership and intellect to move the the Republican party in the right direction.

6. don y | 01.27.09

Palin? Please!!!!!!!!!

7. Iva | 01.27.09

Palin is damaged goods. The media crucified her once already and with Bristol and her red-neck husband dropping out of school, they’ll be even more of a target.

America has had enough of fear mongers. Palin stoked the fired and disguised racisism as viable means to persuade the masses.

We’re beyond that. Let Palin go back under the rock from whence McCain found her.

8. tony sacco | 01.27.09

Palin all the way,- and for Cris ‘Call out the hounds”

9. Chris | 01.27.09

Let Sarah Palin run! She will singlehandedly reduce the Republican party to the laughing stock of the world. I can’t wait! Remember, the biggest sucker in America is a poor Republican.

10. Patrick Forsythe | 01.27.09

Where do I sign up?

11. Arte Feb | 01.27.09

Don’t worry, Palin will be locked up with Rush and the rest of us in a couple of years. Arbreit macht frei it will be!

12. Realistic | 01.27.09

Palin can’t win. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love her as a president… but the media is set and unless you have those idiots behind you, you just can’t win. They’ll adore Obama and his caviar eating wife. Honestly, who eats caviar while your husband is running for president while the country slides into a depression? Let them eat cake! But they’ll never go for Palin, because she doesn’t kiss their collective ****.

I should have known better than to click on a Matthews link.

13. John Galt | 01.27.09

Greg, you haven’t been in a coma for 8 years have you?

14. peteman | 01.27.09

After 8 years of ‘Dopey’ Bush, how could things get any worse???!!!

15. Eric | 01.27.09

John Logan…it is “ticket” not tiket. I hope Palin gets runs, she will be defeated.

16. Travis | 01.27.09

We sent our first doantion to http://www.sarahpac.com/ today, wife and I intend to make monthly donations hereafter. I want that woman to have at the very least a cool one billion dollar kitty come her run for 2012.———–

Palin ‘12——Change America will be begging for.

17. Spider-man | 01.27.09

Does Chris Mathews have any credibility? We’ve already been watching Sarah, Chris. And we like what we see.

18. Jen | 01.27.09

The idea of that woman being elected … I’m laughing out loud right now. That’s rich.

19. Bob | 01.27.09

Sarah Palin is the perfect candidate to represent the far right wing of the Republican party. Think about it.

20. Sam | 01.27.09

If Palin is the best the Republicans can do, the Democrats have nothing to worry about.

21. Geoff | 01.27.09

Re: Greg the left agrees and hopes she runs as well. She lost the election for mcain in ‘08 and will surely loose it for the republicans in ‘12 as well.

22. RUN SARAH RUN | 01.27.09

I for one hope she runs. As for her driving liberals into a frenzy… Well if you think laughing hysterically at her and her lame brained followers is the definition of “frenzy” well then you nailed it. Also. Such as.

Palin is a national joke and a bad one at that.

23. midwestmidwife | 01.27.09

I will add to my prayers tonight a fervent prayer that Sarah Palin finds a nice convenience store job between now and 2012 to occupy her time. That is about all she is capable of…making change, turning on pump #1 or #2 and calling out pizza orders. I am not a liberal leftie…just a concerned midwest farmer, wife and mother. Surely GOP has someone, ANYONE more qualified to run…

Hey, she is good for the comedy circuit, though!

24. Will | 01.27.09

You Palin fetishists are too stupid to vote.

25. Adele | 01.27.09

Yikes, is there where all the brainless hang out? Palin is the reason McCain LOST folks!

26. Y por que? | 01.27.09

palin why?

27. Logan | 01.27.09

Palin thinks that PAC stands for Personal Asset Collection. She’ll use the dough to shop at Nieman Marcus.

28. Sarah | 01.27.09

While there is something exciting about Sarah Palin, I don’t think she’s demonstrated she has the intellectual horse power to solve complex problems that she would face outside of Alaska. Her Republican colleagues don’t seem to take her seriously. If the reports are true and her husband accompanies her to meetings, I also have to question her judgement. He must carry the papers she has asked him to print off for her. Can she not make a desicion without consuting her husband? I’ve voted for a Republican President one time and I still stand by that choice. I would be delighted and sleep well if Sarah Palin runs in the next election as it certainly keep Obama in office for another 4 yrs.

When I saw her with new baby after the VP debate - I think it was 9pm CST — I wnated to gently tell her to put the baby to bed. The baby doesn’t need to be on TV, the baby need to sleep.

29. Theresa | 01.27.09

Obama is now and going to continue to be an awesome president. Palin is ludicrous. The GOP is already past history.

30. John Schuh | 01.27.09

Palin has her eyes fixed on the Midwest, all right, becaushe is pushing for a gas pipeline to go there. She is bucking the elite line that all petro fuel is dirty. Theyseem to be doing everything they can to shut down the oil industry.

31. tom johnson | 01.27.09

Bring it on. Oh please. Let her run on her own demise. She’s a fool, as the republican party would be to let her take the lead. But as has been the case in the last wight years, the republicans have shown their arrogance just as the democrats did with Bill. When will we learn…..

32. rhumbliner | 01.27.09

greg, roncee,

relax, i doubt anyone can match the ignorance and utter stupidity of the bush administration. our economy and the state of the world is so bad thanks to w that things can only get better. it’s just a question of how long it will take to undo all the damage done by the republicans.

33. Arye Michael Bender | 01.28.09

Well, someone has gotta run in four years. The ‘cans won’t simply quit. The last time, it was an old soldier who volunteered to go into the breech. Four years from now, who better than an arrogantly ignorant, power-hungry governor?

And she’ll get a whole new free wardrobe to boot.

What could be better?

- Arye Michael Bender -

34. Jack | 01.28.09

Chris Matthews reinforces the reason why we need ‘birth control’

35. donnie boy | 01.28.09

like you know putin rears his ugly head its not aurora borialis you know i can see russia from my front porch wink wink. everyone knows afica is not a country.

38. Ron P | 01.28.09

Chris Matthews is a moron and the show Hardball should be called softball when it comes to left. I can’t believe how many people thinks what he has to say is news.

39. lefty | 01.28.09

PUH-LEEEEZE… the republicans got us into the mess we are in - acting like you (the Bushies) are not responsible for the state of the economy, being mired in two wars, sky-high jobless rates, the dreadful housing market, etc. is the epitome of arrogance. Admit the errors and try to move forward in a spirit of compromise, not the same old rhetoric. You made a mess, how about helping the clean-up instead of accusing others of being the problem. Already a week or so into Obama’s first term I have heard him utter the word “compromise” dozens of times more than Bush did in 8 years.

40. Mr. Mojo Rising | 01.28.09

The only ‘frenzy’ Sarah drives us thinking voters (a.k.a. ‘liberal left’) to is a frenzy of laughter. I truly hope Sarah Palin gets the Republican nomination; it will be entertaining watching her sink that ship too.

41. Laurence | 01.28.09

Palin is a book burning, anti science, five steps backward kinda girl. That’s why so many Americans love her. We are done with the red scare aren’t we?

42. Matt | 01.28.09

I’m glad Chris brought this to my attention, I just gave her a donation.

43. SarahWho | 01.28.09

Obama will win hands down in 2012 if she is the GOP front runner. heheheheheheh!

44. graham | 01.28.09

a Palin v Obama debate would be something akin to The Covenant School vs Dallas Academy, except Barack is way more of a Christian than coach Grimes.

BHO is a genius before any type of partisan, and it seems you are all in denial.

45. Hannity | 01.28.09

If you believe that all animals, including penguins, boarded Noah’s ark, then you should keep you opinion to yourself. The future is bound to scientific though, not faith.

46. J Powell | 01.28.09

Actually roncee, it actually makes us sleep better! I hope she does run. Seeing as how McCain lost because of her, I rest easy knowing how badly she will lose running by herself.

47. Nathan | 01.28.09

Uh, Greg, aren’t you being a bit melodramatic? “The path were headed down is failure as a country.” Do you mean the whole seven days since Bush has been out of office as opposed to the last eight years of Republican ineptitude? You mean that path?

48. Lywyllyn | 01.28.09

…pa …who? Is she still relevant?

49. lissafaith | 01.28.09

Speaking of “utter stupidity”, I find it telling that not just yours but, every single comment supportive of this moron, except two of them, has some kind of grammatical or spelling error. Kind of what we came to expect from the woman herself.
And no worries, Roncee - Ms. “I don’t have a clue though don’t I smile purty? ::wink wink::” doesn’t keep any liberal that I’m aware of up at night - matter of fact, if she does anything, it’s keeping us rolling at her remarkable lack of - well, anything. Thanks for your concrn, though - we’ll keep it in mind next time we lose sleep over anything.

50. sirjerrybrasil | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is respectable as a small town mayor. As a Governor of a more populated state than Alaska and as the US President – I think she has a long, long hill to climb. I think we shoud give her the opportunity to try and then let it be. She is far outdistanced my Obama, but her following shouldn’t be underestimated.

51. Chris | 01.28.09

The current economic situation clearly proves which economic principles work. Conservative states like Texas, Alaska, etcetra are doing much better while the east coast and left coast are well… the less said the better. We conservatives realize the damage done by fake conservative like Bush to this economy. Bush really mutilated conservative name with his big government entitlement policies and his immigration policy. We need a real conservative like Sarah Palin to be our next president.
I love how all these liberals get all virulently hateful at the mere mention of Sarah Palin. Why is that ? does she represent a woman who is strong, independent and yet a staunch conservative and thus represent a “traitor” who is opposed to “liberal” causes ? Inspite of all these amusing jokes it is Alaska that is doing better even in these trying economic times, not the Banana Republic basket cases of East coast and left coast states.

52. Ian M | 01.28.09

As a proud liberal, my friends and I would LOVE for Palin to run in 2012. More of the same right wing giberish is exactly what we need to guarantee Obama’s re-election. I had a few sleepless nights when McCain got a bounce in his numbers after picking her thinking “Is the country really this foolish?”. But since she lost the election for the GOP, I sleep better every time I see her and Rush in the news as “the face of the New Republican Party”.

53. Kevin | 01.28.09

You think sarah palin knows anything about what she’s doing? We’re talking about the girl who video taped herself “Saving” turkeys from thanksgiving slaughter while the butcher in the back is decapitating one for everyone to see. And when are you idiots going to learn that it doesn’t matter who is in the presidential seat of so-called “power”. The bottom line is that both republican and democratic parties work for the same people at the end of the line. They have no control over the economy there-fore they are in no position of power.

54. Working Class Hero | 01.28.09

Please run in 2012, Palin! You give all of us on the left hope that the GOP will never turn it around. And who knows, perhaps in the next election the electorate will go for your race-baiting and nostalgia for a by-gone (read: “real”) America. Then again, maybe not.

55. Whaffle | 01.28.09

If you haven’t figured it out yet, let me make it clear;
Obama wasn’t elected because people are stupid, but because of hope.
What won was our collective dreams of a better life for everyone.
If we can put aside our differences and work together we build a better future, not Obama, and certainly not Palin.

I don’t know about you, but I’m more than a little sick and tired of a bunch of mean greedy old men telling me the world’s a scary place and I need them to protect me from it. The only people we really need protection from are them.

How many dead in the last eight years, “making us safe”?

56. Steve | 01.28.09

This is Mathews remember? He shoots *** evertime he thinks of Obama. Let the story be told that the media and press elected Obama as the new President. Who’d ever have thought that the American public had become nothing but fish, following the bait (news media). I think 4 years from now we’ll all be looking at each other and asking “what just happened”? Hey pal, get in the soup line behind me, I was here first.

57. Ed L | 01.28.09

Talk about an economic stimulus! Imagine…all the high end clothing stores would see money roll in as they attempt to keep up with her appetite for being stylish amidst a Republican caused Recession (depression?). The traveling road show of manicurists, makeup consultants and speech spinners would all be millionaires. Comedians and their writing staff would have a guaranteed income. A whole new industry of translaters would emerge, as they try to make sense of her…ummm…misused and mangled English (or whatever it is she speaks). And finally, it would usher in a whole new baby boom as she and her brood have another kid every 9 months.

You could take Sarah Palin’s intellectual integrity cram it in the navel of a flea and still have room for two sesame seeds.

58. jason | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is a mockery of all that is great about American Politics. The prospect of a beautiful, charismatic female candidate is thrilling. But let’s insist she also have a brain.

59. tully | 01.28.09

Matthews is still in the throws of his ‘man-crush’ with Obama…..tinglings up his leg and all.

Some of the most idiotic and rather embarrassing reporting and/or commentary, is coming out of MSNBC.

60. brad | 01.28.09

I’m not a liberal, but i would never vote for Mrs. Palin. She is neither educated nor cultured enough to be our president.

Her religious beliefs scare me, I am agnostic and choose to live my life my way, without harming anybody else. Let your god (if ‘he’ exists) judge me, not you.

Celebrate your religion with your family and your community, not with your government. feds should not legislate morality. That is what makes America beautiful.

Sorry Sarah, contraceptives are a good thing and dinosaurs existed way more than 10,000 years ago.

61. IndyJones | 01.28.09

Hey Roncee, Palin causes untold sleepless because we can’t stop laughing. If that’s the best the Republicans can cough up as a “leader”, all I can say, with Palin’s inflection, “Shucks!”

62. Joe | 01.28.09

I so hope the Republicans nominate Sarah Palin or someone just like in 2012, 2016, 2020 . . . Let’s face it, the cynical “traditional Republicans” - you know, the ones who only care about money have lost control of their own party. By pandering to the holy rollers they’ve shown them that not only can they influence a general election, they can control the Republican Party. So let them keep nominating right wing-nut jobs who will NEVER GET ELECTED IN A GENERAL ELECTION (YEAAAAAAAAH!!!). Couldn’t ask for more.

63. Really jones | 01.28.09

Pretty much if she runs it’s another slam dunk for the Democrats.. we sure do not need another neo-con like her!

64. Hannity is bitter | 01.28.09

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! “Driving liberal left into a frenzy?” I think the majority of Americans laugh at the though of Sarah Palin in 2012. Let’s hope she does run, so that Obama can have another land slide. Palin in 2012?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! You Rep’s can have Joe the Fake Plummer in 2012.

65. jcamp | 01.28.09

If Palin is the future hope of the Republican party, then their doomed. In an interview she did that I watched, she suggested that pre-emptive war may be a good idea. That idea is nuts. When I observed her actions during the interview I though she was running for student council president of a high school.

If she is serious about presidential politics, she should get college degrees in political science and international relations and spend all her waking hours studying international events. She may also consider a run for the U.S. house or U.S. senate.

66. Bush Farner | 01.28.09

Palin’s understanding of foreign policy is less than that of a high school student. As the current title holder of the “most hated nation in the world” an individual with Palin’s approach is the last thing this country needs.

Setting your ideals aside, can anyone honestly believe-and I mean honestly, that Ms. Palin is even remotely qualified to run this country. Did any of you listen and watch her responses to any of the questions that were asked by various reporters? Can you separate yourselves from the whole conservative notion that a person like this knows nothing (aside from maybe hunting and sportscasting)?
Listen to what the majority of the world is saying about their relief that the last conservative (and I use the term loosely) did to this country. Eight years of good ol’ boy- slap on the back and have a beer politics are enough for most of us. Sarah Palin is another one of these; born of the neo-con approach to politics that all started back in the Reagan era because of the powerful support of the televangelists like Pat Robertson et al.
Those religious powerhouses with their gigantic soapboxes started twisting the right and wrong in this country resulting is divisive results. it continues to this day being shot out on the airwaves by people like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly. (et al).
The rhetoric blowers continue to blast Obama on a daily basis and characterize him as evil while on the other hand, merchandising this Alaskan Moose as if she were the great conservative messiah.
They’re wrong.
She’s not.
She’s just another crooked, under educated face being propped up as the wave of the future.
Save yourself some embarrasment Ms. Palin. Stop this utter nonsense.

69. GodBlessAmerica | 01.28.09

I hope Dan Quayle, uh, Dubya, uh, Palin runs. Republicans are tools of the Corporations. They have proven and proven they sell out America to gain power by any means necessary, by any lie, twisting anything sacred into a slogan. It proves that Republicans think Americans are so stupid that they will only vote for a Republican who acts like a complete imbecile. Meanwhile, Democrats run intelligent candidates who get the job done. For all their flaws, Democrats don’t treasure ranting mindless “hatred” as a Christian value, unlike the Republicans.

70. Al | 01.28.09

I wouldn’t go as far as calling Palin an idiot but she has shown more potential to that term than Matthews has, take the multiple CBS, NBC and ABC interviews in which she has been baffling to say the least. She was not “portrayed” in any unjust manner, that is how she is. Take her interview on FOX news, a right wing channel, and still she made a fool of her self.
The GOP still has some potential to be that strong party, but selecting Palin would be the worst choice the Republicans can make, Huckabee, Romney and many more have better chances at being elected as President. Palin is a joke, plain and simple.

If you want to see what the Republican party should be headed towards look at Ron Paul. He doesn’t share many of the conservative religious beliefs that many Republicans have, but again this is a political candidate. You should not be looking at your POLITICAL candidates to be your religious authority, that is what you have your religious faith and churches for. Don’t forget that this nation was built at its core with the idea of “separation from church and state.” Look how many young GOP and independent people followed Ron Paul, if a more broader candidate would come out in 2012 with similar values and ideas as Ron Paul that would be a more realistic choice then Palin.

In regard to Greg’s comment, please! “The greed and sheep like following of Obama is indeed probably our demise.” Greed?!? I would like to know what greed it is that you have seen in him. I have not seen any as of yet and hopefully he doesn’t show any similarities to the greed that Bush showed, now that is true greed. Going into Iraq for oil, thats greed. the Ex-Vice President using Halliburton, KBR and Blackwater to make economic gains from the sad reality which was the death of many innocent civilians and innocent American soldiers, that’s greed from Dick Cheney and Bush’s partners. How sad it is that you don’t realize the greed which existed in your own selection for Bush…. And then to say the “sheep like following of Obama”
are you trying to insult him and people who gave him the vote of condifence to lead us out of this mess that we are in, how disgraceful of you to not even give the new president to make an attempt to help our nation, how unpatriotic and ignorant. You seem to use this term as a derogatory meaning, but then you go on to invoke God, what is this double standard you play in? Is it not found in the bible verses that refer to Jesus following as a shepard, look at Psalm 23, “The lord is my shepherd…” so are you saying that your own following of Jesus as “sheep-like” is ignorant, im not saying that my following of Jesus is, but the way in which you use the term seems ignorant and dumb. No one in the right mind thinks or follows Obama’s ideas as a religious figure, he is a political figure a human being and that is all that those who elected him see in him, so hopefully you will realize how flawed your logic is in making such a comment.

To John, yeah I agree that General Petraus might be a potential runner for the GOP candidate, seeing how in our history so many Generals have been elected as Presidents, e.g. Grant, and many others but I don’t think that he would be able to win because of the initial failure of the war in Iraq, before the increase in troops, so he might be blamed with that, although it was obviously the fault of the Chief-of-Staff and the begginer of the war on Iraq, Bush. How sad that many have had to pay for Bush’s errors.

71. foodandart | 01.28.09

Palin? Oh Dear Lord no. Sorry, but as an American woman that’s been living on a *budget* for the last decade, my view from the stagnant bottom third of this economy is that we do NOT need is a power hungry politician who’s sole fiscal experience has been as governor of a state that has pretty much funded on oil money for the last 30 some odd years.

We cannot afford a spendaholic female in power. Look to the whole fiasco with her wardrobe if you want to see what kind of fiscal responsibility she’ll have. Women just CAN’T do it, esp. not the pampered upper-class soccer-mom types. Now if Sarah Palin raised her kids on a WORKING CLASS budget and knew how to make the hard financial choices I’d have more faith in her.

Hillary Clinton made me cringe, but Sarah Palin gives me the flat-out willies. I do not trust her abilities one jot.

72. Maddi | 01.28.09

Bush and his companies had proven to us conservatives are fearsome morons. They had led this country straight to destruction with their pseudo values, clueless iron fists and monstrous corporate greed. Even communism is better than the neo-cons. Get over your self righteousness and get a grip of reality, and ask yourselves why any sensible person would vote for conservatives. If she runs it’s God’s way of giving us another 4 years of liberal heaven.

73. Sean | 01.28.09

Matthews talking about Palin… Olberman talking about Limbaugh… Who really cares? Palin and Limbaugh are not newsworthy and this fact only makes Chris and Keith look desperate.

74. Gene Mason | 01.28.09

I don’t think it is Chris Mathews who’s the idiot!!

75. Al | 01.28.09

76. Repub | 01.28.09

Can republicans really have something to say after the egg they just laid after 8 years? Anyone notice how bad they left the economy? We wet the bed…now sleep in it and quit crying!

77. Sue | 01.28.09

Please let the Republicans embrace Palin because if she is the best they have to offer the country, then the Obama has it made for another term. Thank God

78. RManuto | 01.28.09

She entitled to run. Almost anyone is. Though I consider a run by her sad, that is just me. When the people can no longer define the difference between love and frustration, qualified and not, intellectually advanced and ignorant, they can no longer make a difference. A democracy under those terms is rather pointless. The fact that she may be considered a serious candidate by anyone may be the first indication that we are at the end of the line.

79. Craig Garcia | 01.28.09

I guess it’s okay to buy a Congressional seat, (or the presidency for that matter).. especially if you have a so-call PAC, which is “legal”. It’s too bad that our Country’s elected get into office on the basis of money not moral values. God save America!

80. Save us from the likes of greg | 01.28.09

Dear Greg,

Our only hope?! Are you kidding? It’s clueless idiots like Palin and wise men like you that jumped on her emotional loudmouth appeal that causes more damage to conservatives than anything the left can do. Palin is crooked, corrupt and um, dangerous maybe? Isn’t it enough that clueless W. wreaked havoc on us all while lining his friends’ pockets. Puh-lease! We as conservatives need to go back to understanding what issues matter to people instead of putting up self-focussed candidates like Palin and oppurtunistic moralists like McCain. Or…maybe you can run?

81. Kat | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is great. Keep it up, your making them crazy.

82. Riley | 01.28.09

Greg, you are a ******* moron. The fact that you’d trust Sarah Palin to runt he country during the worst economic times since the great depression just blows my mind. Sarah Palin is a deceiving and unscrupulous woman utterly unversed in any of the needful political discourses but easily trained to utter preposterous lies and to appeal to the basest element of her audience

83. Jordy | 01.28.09

“Dear God lets hope she runs. May be our only hope. The path were headed down is failure as a country. The ignorance and utter stupidity of which the left bases their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view on whats best for our country will be the end of us all. The greed and sheep like following of Obama is indeed probably our demise.”

The path we are headed? … headed? Wrong tense dear.

The Place we are - the Recession, dual wars, and collapsing housing Market, is really all thanks to the last Administration… you know, the one that just got finished shoving this country into a nose dive we haven’t seen since 1920? Yeah… that one.

Palin? Please.

Keep your eyes OFF Palin. Then she’ll go back into the political VOID where she came from.

the less you care about the ex-never-been-VP the less she’ll show up. 15 minutes done yet? YOU BETCHA!

84. Dawny | 01.28.09

Palin? Yes Please!!!!!!

85. j everett | 01.28.09

Thank goodness there are other people who see thru Chris Matthews.
What an affront to journalism he is. Sarah Palin - still undecided as
to how far she can or should go. Certainly has done well in her career
so far. Hopefully she will grow.

86. Farfel | 01.28.09

Bring it on, Sarah. We need another down-in-flames Republican effort in ‘12.

87. sean b | 01.28.09

LOL. Palin supporters are hilarious in their continued denial that she lost John McCain the election. I’d rather have soft, fluffy, emotional lefties like Greg describes rather than someone who believes Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs 5000 years ago, at the same time rational people are unmistakably sure the pyramids were being constructed and chinese empires existed.

God is so clever forging the written records of those civilizations to go along with all the geological evidence, Sarah! The Bible is all fact and not parable–as any Christian scholar worth their salt will tell you! Keep telling yourself that!

88. CrookedPolsAndCEOs | 01.28.09

I was hoping beyond hope (she had had her fifteen minutes) that she would go quietly - no such luck apparently - and this is best they have to offer???

89. Ron | 01.28.09

Sarah in 2012. If you’re a liberal / socialist, be very afraid. The backlash against the moron is forming.

90. J. Underhill | 01.28.09

As an Alaskan, it is truly sad to hear about all of this buzz for Gov. Palin. The world had all of a couple months to get to know her, while we have had several years. She ain’t what you seem to think she it. Furthermore, isn’t it truly amusing that the only newspaper to investigate her affair a few years ago with Palmer City Councilmen Brad Hanson was the Inquirer. Republicans call Clinton a pervert for that type of offense, why is Gov. Palin above it?

91. sherring | 01.28.09

Something about her reminds me of Peg Bundy

92. jon buttler | 01.28.09

I think shes realy what the contry needs write now. Plus shes realy pretty and that cant hurt, right? when barak husayn obama has the mainstream media in his poket, real americans need someone who attracts attention and is a roll model for familys. Go Sarah!!!

93. Lotus Notes | 01.28.09

Greg
“The greed and sheep like following of Obama is indeed probably our demise”

Take your head out of your @$$, I think it was you Bush whiteys that were doing most of that. Cough, Iraq,, cough..

94. chris d | 01.28.09

I agree that General Petraus would be the better choice in 2012. We need sensible leadership in the whitehouse. I am not sure why the bad elements on the right seem to embrace anti-intellectuals.

95. John B | 01.28.09

Greg you are so right lets keep going with these wonderful Bush ideas that have helped us all so much

96. carol | 01.28.09

You are absolutely right….the lefties are in a tizzy over this. I love it.

97. John | 01.28.09

Here’s hoping the Republicans run a frightening, semi-literate ***** of a politician in 2012!

Never had I thought I’d live to see a black man as president, but I’m glad the American people saw through what the neocons had in store for us long enough to put an end to it.

98. kushka53 | 01.28.09

BARF.

99. Schten | 01.28.09

John Logan, We can only hope that a Republican with a brain appears on the horizon someday. I like your pick of Petraus. Palin would ruin this country, Petraus could do wonders.

100. Alan Freinkl | 01.28.09

To call Chris Matthews an idiot is a slur on idiots.

101. Gretchen McDonald | 01.28.09

Oh this is so sad. When will she quit. Yes she has a following which is really scary that there are a lot of people like her who probably also think they can see Russia.

Obama is the best thing to happen to America in decades. Let’s just all work together to get us out of the mess our country is in. The Dems are in to stay for a long time so let’s all get used to that. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!

102. Jay G. | 01.28.09

Replying to #3 Greg. Are you serious? It’s true there are some nutty left wingers out there, but Obama is strongly distancing himself from them. The true change he will bring is a moderate form of government where both sides can come together. Have you looked at his cabinet picks, his policies thus far, his actual disdain for partisanship? The nutjobs on the right and the nutjobs on the left are rapidly becoming irelevant in our society. Like it or not, we are a country of moderates. We all lean slightly to the left or to the right, but are centrist by nature. The ones on the far sides of the fence are a thing of the past. Thank God is all I can say to that.

103. Edwin | 01.28.09

The ignorance and utter stupidity of which the right bases their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view on whats best for our country will be the end of us all. The greed and sheep like following of Palin is indeed probably our demise.

104. Rob. S | 01.28.09

If the Republicans keeps coming up with intellectually challenged people like Bush and Palin to run for office we are all in trouble.

105. Cliff | 01.28.09

Don’t worry. By 2012, everyone will be begging Sarah to run, just to make up for electing the new guy.

106. Freethinking Jeremy | 01.28.09

2012:
– REPUBLICAN OPTIONS –
ROMNEY: high power executive, turns everything he touches into gold, extreme conservative
MCCAIN: war hero, mostly does the right thing though slightly sloppy
HUCKABEE: compassionate conservative, not too bright but actually cares about people
PALIN: um, like, bimbo, and um, you know, can’t speak, and um, thinks abstinence only works despite daughter, you know, um, you know.

vs

– DEMOCRAT OPTIONS –
Obama: smooth talking political powerhouse
Clinton: not very likeable but prudent and experienced with a popular ex-pres hubby

… So why do the conservatives like Palin?

107. Stephen | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is the biggest mistake John McCain made in his campaign. No more, no less. He may not have won anyway, but choosing such an incompetent, inexperienced barbie doll, he proved that did not have the wisdom to make important decisions. As for her running for President, Huckabee is ten times the candidate she is!

108. PM Savannah | 01.28.09

Palin represents the mentality in politicians that got us in the awful mess we now are dealing with. Matthews is emblematic of the kind of talking head that didn’t know how to research and report on the news so that the citizens could be better informed. Both are self serving, preening peacocks that do not deserve any more of our time. We have real, serious problems to solve and like Gov. Blog they should go away and play out of the public eye. But that is what drives them and so many others. Attention no matter what, so I’m betting we are stuck with all these albatrosses until we can figure out a way to ignore them. Didn’t we all have those kids in class that were always waving their hand in the air or that couldn’t stop cutting the fool. An old, old story, but just a really bad time for our country to have the distraction from moving forward that such characters represent.

109. Soul | 01.28.09

Palin should run in 2012 only if Obama is beatable. She’s a good enough leader, but the Democratic failure to protect the country and save the economy ought to be stark enough that even the mainstream media can’t ignore it.

110. Mark of Australia | 01.28.09

Greg, your an idiot. In the light of what he has already accomplished in such a short amount of time and all the things he intends on doing I support Obama 110%.

His ideas on how to communicate with the world, deal with the financial crisis, bring ethics to the White house and deal with Global warming are a credit to your nation not a negative.

111. EdG | 01.28.09

Wow. There’s actually people that think she’s the best we got to sit in the oval office!? The reason the country is in the state its in is: ignorance. You don’t fix ignorance by applying more of it. I don’t care which party we’re talking about. You’re ignorant if you don’t understand it’s all the same.

112. Gaias Child | 01.28.09

As we heard John McCain say recently, there are a number of talented younger (than him) Republicans coming up. Whether any of them are dumb enough to run against President Obama is another matter. We KNOW Palin is dumb enough and might provide a ton of comedy as well. The talented and bright up and coming other Republicans might not want to take Obama on but if they do, there is a lot more wholesome promising talent out there. Meanwhile, we’ve got a planet to save this term and a nation and our own people. We pretty much know that the Republicans only have offered tax cuts for businesses (of any size and shape and ethic) as a way to help us out . . . Let’s see how things look four years from here.

113. Donny Bouy | 01.28.09

I do like the fact that the Republicans have dug in and feel that they had a good losing candidate in 2008, so why not raise the stakes and go for a dufus fro president. So, she is the face of what the Republicans stand for? Maybe you didn’t hear… intelligence is in… dumb is out.

114. I.F. Stone | 01.28.09

To ‘Greg’ and ‘roncee’ :

Sarah Palin is not fit to run a Girl Scout troop.

If you think Palin belongs in high office, you’re both morons.

And if you think this country needs more of what the idiot from Texas did the last eight years, then you are insane.

115. Alaska Jack | 01.28.09

Does Chris Matthews have any credibility anymore. I mean come on, after commenting how when Obama spoke he had shivers running up and down his leg. Wow, that’s hard hitting journalism and really objective commentary.

116. Mickey | 01.28.09

Greg said: “The greed and sheep like following of Obama is probably our demise.”

I understand the ’sheep’ part (good little right-wing parrot that you are), but the greed part has left me puzzled. Pray tell, how does greed figure in the Obama phenomenon?

117. Geo | 01.28.09

“…the path were headed down is failure…”

Hello!!!! It’s already failed thanks to the arrogance of the “right”! That’s realistic.

Palin has no leadership skills, no sense of reality, nothing to contribute to a better future for America…no way of taking us any direction but down. What a nightmare!

118. fank | 01.28.09

What don’t you people get. Palin is the poster girl for ignorant arrogance.

She has no brain and could not even begin to run this country. The other republicans will tear her up if she runs.

119. Joe Krider | 01.28.09

Chris Matthews is irrelevant. He IS the person who had a tingling up and down his leg. There is such animosity and bigotry about people who don’t come from “inside the beltway” or from New York or L.A. I guess soccer/hockey moms and NASCAR fans just don’t count.

120. Colin | 01.28.09

“The ignorance and utter stupidity of which the left bases their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view on whats best for our country will be the end of us all. The greed and sheep like following of Obama is indeed probably our demise.” Sheer nonsense. Honestly. If you cannot discern the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama, then the “ignorance and utter stupidity” with which you judge the left, is yours alone.
Sarah Palin is the pinnacle of the neo-Con Republican hubris, and if you can’t tell the almost-fatal flaw that is marginalizing the once great Grand Ol’ Party, then it shall indeed lose any relevance. This current mess is very much the harvest of Republican “trickle down” theory, and I promise you that the majority of citizens is rapidly wising up to its bankrupt tenets.

121. John Skookum | 01.28.09

Excellent news, I will be turning my pockets inside out to help this great lady get rid of the socialist scum.

All you hate-filled Democrats who keep saying it would be great for Obama to run against Sarah in 2012, now’s your chance to put your money where your sneer is. Donate to her PAC and make sure she enters the campaign with a billion dollar war chest. If she’s going to be such a pushover, why wouldn’t you want to see her beat Jindal and Huckabee and Romney?

122. Dotsylee | 01.28.09

History will record Chris Matthews as a poster child for speech impaired people who spit and slobbered his way through a mediocre career in broadcasting for a minor insignificant cable channel.

123. Don | 01.28.09

Please, please let Palin run. Bush did more for the Dems than any Dem ever could, but Palin has real potential to do even more……

124. Gwen | 01.28.09

Indeed! Palin PLEASE! She IS exactly what this country needs! Hope this keeps the liberals upset and the punk little bloggers stirred up. And hopefully this new PAC sends a tingle down that ignorant Matthews other leg. He’s got to be gay!

125. Bob Cass | 01.28.09

I hope Palin runs in 2012. She really scares the moderates so much that they shift to the left, leading to another 4years of Obama administration. That is what the country needs. Ofcourse, I know you are not going to post this knowing how myopic your reporting is.
-Bob

126. mike kraski | 01.28.09

Poor Chris… his manlove for Obama has been spurned. So he hopes to gain favor of Barrack by going on the attack of Barracks biggest worry in ‘12.

127. Bob | 01.28.09

God as we imagine is a figment of our imagination. The sooner humans realize that, the faster they can start to look into what is the power that fuels the universe. Because, that power doesnt care 2 hoots about us or who we are. Just like we dont care about some ants in an anthill in the amazon basin
-Bob

128. Chris B | 01.28.09

Please let Palin run in 2012! She is the best thing to ever happin to the party. God bless her and her lovely family. Only she can garentee the future of this great country.

129. Inverse137 | 01.28.09

———-
Greg, greg, what little neo-con training camp did you drop-out of at age 15?

I don’t even know where to begin with your little tirade. the poor sentence structure throughout that nonsensical dribble is hard to nail down.

What exactly is a “realistic point of view?” Perhaps you mean realistic expectations, or maybe logical point of view? I don’t even know!

But, what I think you are trying to say is that neo-cons screwed up and now Democrats have to fix it.

Yes, neo-con fiscal policy was a disaster. Spend whatever you want now, while reducing revenue (taxes) was idiotic. “Grow your way out of debt” does not work.

Tell ya what…I’ll make it easy for you. Run your household the way the neo-cons ran the country for the previous 8 years and I will vote for whichever candidate you want!

That’s right! And all you have to do is spend 12% more than you make over the next 8 years!

Talk is cheap my little neo-con friend! Put your money where your convictions are!

130. steve k | 01.28.09

I agree mathews is an idiot!!!! GO SARAH GO Palin/Petraus mmm 12 good bye Obama. Are we there yet

131. earthrock | 01.28.09

I am sleeping rather well now that Bush is gone.

132. Inverse137 | 01.28.09

roncee, actually, we liberals want Palin to run. We want a candidate that thinks Africa is a country and one that can’t even quote her own parties doctrins! We stay up at night with giddy anticipation and feelings of glee over the prospect of her being the Republican nominee!!!

133. snaxalotl | 01.28.09

I get a little smile from people who are looking forward to the sadly under-equipped Palin fixing anything; but I have a bigger smile because those people don’t know enough about their own party to realise that Bobby Jindal is going to beat Palin easily

134. Dp | 01.28.09

My god. I’m not at all surprised by this action, but the possibility that Palin could be president of the US terrifies me. She is an incompetent, unintelligent, functionally illiterate, dogmatic, religious-extremist right-winger. She puts religion before science, dogma before fact, and ego before reality. Of all the potential ‘12 Republican candidates out there, she is the most terrifying.

135. brian e | 01.28.09

get real, people. less talk, more help.

136. Anthony | 01.28.09

LET’S BE SERIOUS… She was the wrong canidate then and will continue to be the wrong canidate. For all the IDIOT’S who don’t realize the last eight years was our demise…. WAKE UP… As for OBAMA, who could do worst than Bush… If Palin is our tickets best qualified then… I’m moving to CANADA!

137. Mark | 01.28.09

Palin was a good candidate. She had more executive experience than Obama has even today. Yet the leftist media portrayed her in the worst possible light they could while Obamessiah could have mooned the pope and they would have failed to notice. I’m not saying I will vote for her in 2012, four years is a long time in politics, but I won’t discount what she has to say.

138. Steve | 01.28.09

Sarah…why? Why, Sarah?

139. Chris G. | 01.28.09

Whoever said he hopes Palin will run because she is the only hope for our country is confused. First off, she can not win. Second, she is not a conservative, she is another Bush or Mccain like neo-conservative. These people do not understand that the government needs to get smaller rather than bigger.

Many people who call themselves republicans forget that the basis for the party used to be the constitution. That document is probably something Palin has read but understands very little.

Anyway, show me a candidate who intends to lower government spending massively, and you will have shown me a candidate who can both win for the republican party and fix the economy at the same time.

140. thomas | 01.28.09

If, Palin runs in 2012, The Republican party will loose again :} You should be more worry about the 2010 election cycle. Republicans are going to loose big again.

141. tex805 | 01.28.09

Anyone who wants to see Palin run in 2012 has a death wish for the Republican Party. The GOP is in serious danger of becoming a footnote - a regional, religious-oriented party that will be forever destined to be a minority.

Only by realizing the error of their ways, by espousing reasonable solutions to serious problems, by appealing to the “rest of the voters,” by looking forward rather than backward, by developing legitimate appeal to the growing numbers of Hispanic and black voters, will the GOP have a chance.

Palin does not play a role in this scenario.

142. Ed | 01.28.09

Dear god I hope she doesn’t run in 2012, I can’t put up with her talking to people like they’re 5 years old. Also the fact that she talk to us like we talk to each other is appalling, I certainly don’t talk like that to my friend. Later Ya’ll ;-)

143. robbeamart | 01.28.09

couldn’t agree with you more, greg and roncee…..Love watchin the democrats chase their tails.

144. DB | 01.28.09

I think the only reason the liberal media(or for that matter any media) is still covering Sarah Palin is purely for the laughs.

I mean come on, just listen to her interview with Katie couric on the you tube. She couldn’t even remember the name of even one newspaper, did not know of any one SC decision that she disagreed upon with Sen. John M and much more. (”I’ll bring them to ya ..” should not be an answer to any question when you’re running for the vice-presidency).
SNL took her actual answer word by word and upon replay the answer was hailarious.
She was not able to hold her own against Katie Couric! How in the world does anybody expect her to stand up against hostile nations and leaders?

I get scared at the thought that there are people who think she can lead. Voting for Sarah Palin for PREZ is definitely not “COUNTRY FIRST”.

145. Bill | 01.28.09

Greg, as a liberal sheep I’ve got to agree that Palin is our only hope. She and Rush (and a few posters here) can go off to the Crazy Corner and let the rest of us resurrect our country from W’s trashing.

146. HedgeBaby | 01.28.09

Good grief!!!!! THis woman is taking herself WAAAAAY too seriously. She should learn how to form a correct sentence and speak coherent thoughts before she tries to reinsert herself into the national seat of attention. Personally, I’d rather she’d just dry up and blow away!

147. Dean | 01.28.09

Yeah Palin causes us sleepless nights alright…our stomachs are so sore from laughing so hard.

Yeah go ahead Sarah, continue to make a fool of yourself and your party.

148. Jordan | 01.28.09

(Quote)

(End Quote)

I think you’ll be changing your mind in the next 4 years. I think the rest of the country speaks for itself. John McCain did not lose by a hair, he lost by a land slide. John McCain was not the change American’s (Or the World for that matter) believed in. President Obama and his Administration will bring the economy and America’s reputation back and let us pray that another jack ass’ed President like George Bush doesn’t ruin everything Presidents like Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan worked so hard to create.

149. Susan | 01.28.09

Oh, good. A hypocrite and a liar who speaks gibberish. Way to go GOP.

150. AJC | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is the ideal GOP candidate. In her embodies all the characteristcs that define the Republicans of today. Let us all hope she runs AND gets rid of all those RINOs in congress too!

151. Paul | 01.28.09

Re Greg:

Dear God lets hope she runs. May be our only hope. The path we headed down over the last 8 years was failure for our country. The hope she offers is that such an underqualified idealogue running for the GOP will remind voters how out of touch the Repubs are, and the election will be easy for the Dems.

152. ThankyouPalin | 01.28.09

Thank you Sarah for running again so that dems can easily defeat GOP in 2012.

153. Gavin | 01.28.09

Greg, in your comment you discuss ignorance and utter stupidity and “their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view” but in the first sentence you are asking for help from an imaginary being. It seems to me that someone who is so deluded to believe in a creator instead of picking up the tens of thousands of books and or scientific journals that have written by the worlds most esteemed scientists that prove otherwise, does not measure up intellectually and therefore your comments should be disregarded completely.

154. LEE | 01.28.09

Thank goodness for MSNBC!!!

At least Chris Matthews knows what’s going on in politics…
most people don’t really care.

155. todd bod mod | 01.28.09

Petraus will not resign his command to run against Obama, a man whom he has a great deal of respect for. I don’t know why so many people think that he is a registered Republican eagar to enter the personally destructive world of party politics.

156. Zach G | 01.28.09

I hope she runs. That’ll pretty much guarantee a victory for Obama ‘12.

157. Arthur | 01.28.09

As a member of the liberal left, I can assure you that neither I nor anyone I know who shares my views is troubled by Sarah Palin or losing sleep over her antics. In fact, we’re delighted at the prospect of her being chosen as the GOP’s candidate in 2012.

158. tina | 01.28.09

Thank Palin for Obama’s victory.

More money was raised in a US election than ever before. The record amount of cash was to ensure that Palin would not get anywhere near the White House. More people than ever before in the history of the United States raised money to see her go down. It worked and it will work again.

Palin 2012 will be the end of the Republicans for a long, long, long time. Think smart Republicans because dumb is done. Remember W?

159. JJ Neufeld | 01.28.09

Palin 1012 would be a gift to the Dems - because it would ensure another 4 years of Obama. Palin will not be able to reach far enough over the middle to win a national election.

160. Supporter | 01.28.09

Ron Paul or BUST!

161. Katy | 01.28.09

I would love to see her run. She will do what is best for the country: keep the Republicans on the sidelines.

162. Wintermute | 01.28.09

Being Liberal, being a leftist, is not a shame, I’m proud of it. Those who always brand us in a negative way are always the same dumbasses : clinging on their guns and religion, certain of their narrow-minded point of view. Don’t they remember that one of them was in charge at the white house during the last 8 years ?? Don’t they remember that all the economic mess we’re enduring wasn’t exactly the result of a left wing policy ? May you rot in your imaginary ****, stupids.

163. Austin | 01.28.09

Greg,

“The path were headed down is failure as a country.”
Like The Iraq War, the current economic crisis brought about by deregulation, and our pathetic infrastructure compared to other countries?

“The ignorance and utter stupidity of which the” right “bases their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view on whats best for our country will be the end of us all.”
Like the following blindly the neocon quasi-religious dictates? Or maybe like the Decider making decisions on his gut feelings ignoring the real world?

“The greed”
Like the war profitering helped by policies like the Bush’s cost-plus?

“and sheep”
Like voting for sub-standard intellects like Bush and Palin for… because they share the same religion or is someone we think it would be good to share a beer with.

Ah, Obama … finally after 8 years we have a president that can speak proper English.

164. Frank | 01.28.09

“The ignorance and utter stupidity of which the RIGHT bases their emotional beliefs and not having a realistic point of view on whats best for our country will be the end of us all. The greed and sheep like following of REPUBLICAN is indeed probably our demise.” - Dude 3 posts above.

As a left leaning person I feel exactly the same about the right: its seems their only idea is to cut taxes. But my point is that no matter what anyone says we cant seem to compromise. Like Palestine and Israel, there doesnt seem to be a solution that anyone can agree on, so lets just fight. Obama included 300 Billion in tax cuts in the stimulus, but not a single person on the republican side says thanks, thats all just a simple thanks for giving Repubs some of what they talk about ALL the time. You cant win! Soooo…. GO SARAH!

165. Sandy | 01.28.09

Do we have to start campaigning for 2012 now…or can we at least give the current President, I don’t know, maybe a week after the inauguration. Or is one week the “new” 4-year term.

166. Oz | 01.28.09

Just to balance out the posts. I REALLY hope Palin doesn’t run for President. She wasn’t the only, but a significant reason why I gave up on voting for McCain. I still disagree with the majority of Obama’s & Democrats’ ideals, but obviously I voted for him over Palin & Republican.

167. James M | 01.28.09

Anyone who loves Palin as much as you claim above, should fly up here to AK and invite her to move home with you. We can’t wait to get rid of her - if only more of you “supporters” had helped promote her. Then our state could be rid of her unsophisticated policies and small town mismanagement.

By all means Sarah… please do run in 2012. As far from Alaska as we can chase you.

168. sheeple | 01.28.09

I love it when morons think that the problem with Sarah Palin is that she keeps liberals awake at night.

169. therearesmarterleaders | 01.28.09

There are much smarter and more qualified people who can lead this country. It is no longer about the left and the right. It is about America. It is time for nationalism to rise to the fore and for partisan politics to drift into the past. The Republicans and Democrats are bankrupting this country. They are effectively one party. They control the purse strings in Washington. They should be worried about the rise of China and the fascist state that Russia is turning into and the nukes being developed in Iran. Instead they fund pork and play to their masters (the corporations and special interests). People did not fight in wars to defend this nation and its constitution to see Washington taken over by what is effectively a single party catering to their donors. This country does not need Palin. This country needs a new set of founding fathers who are EDUCATED and INTELLIGENT. Who cares about the NRA and abortion when the Chinese are clearly aiming to take over our position as the number one economy in the world and make the USA subservient to them. Warren Buffet has been warning the nation for years that we cannot continue to run trade deficits and federal deficits. Stop selling the PRC (yes they are still communists in case you have forgotten with a secret police) TBills. I for one do not want a Chinese master and that is what we are going to get if we continue down this path to poverty and self destruction. Fund technological innovation and build a new manufacturing capability in this country. And stop basing the economy on oil. We pay the Saudi who fund the terrorists. Building cars that get 45 miles per gallon will reduce the amount of money that we send to our enemies in Russia, Venezuala, Iran, and Saudi Arabia which increase our national security and reduces the foreign trade deficit. This is an economic war and we are losing. It is going to get much uglier before it gets better.Palin is not smart enough to figure out how to get us out of this hole.

170. ratsol | 01.28.09

Hello Chris mathews Moron , Wake up to the fact the we are soon going to herald the dawn of the PALIN ERA!!
Well done Sarah for sending chills down the spines of the leftists… so much so that the liberal press is making ridiculous propositions …anything to smear and bash Palin…Hello lefties ! remember Newtons law ..for every ACTION there is equal and opposite REACTION ….PALIN 2012!!!

171. General Petraus | 01.28.09

I actually voted for obama. thanks though.

172. N Parr | 01.28.09

Palin: A stupid mistake on McCain’s part as she was and is not qualified to lead or inspire. She’s merely a self-described pit bull with lipstick, high heels, a great body and face and nothing more. God help the Republicans if they choose her once again. She’s a Rush Limbaugh she-wolf. Oh yeah, she can also shoot and kill wolfs from a helicopter. Thoughtful intelligence is not included in the package.

173. Mootzie | 01.28.09

Palin is just a distraction. Keep your eye on certain Republicans like Mccain, who thinks he should be president right now and also the minority leader in the house and some other high level Republicans. They are all part of a conspiracy to over-throw the government of the united states of america. They have plans to take over this country militarily and turn it into a fsscist dictatorship. Many people were worried about Bush doing this before he left office but we were never in danger from Bush. However America is in GRAVE DANGER right now from these people who plan to enslave us all.

174. Ben | 01.28.09

“you’re causing them untold sleepless nights!”

Usually don’t post comments, but seriously, no one is losing sleep over Palin. The left is still losing sleep over GWB and the nightmare that is ongoing. Palin won’t even be a footnote in a history book.

175. Doug | 01.28.09

Matthews is right, don’t count Palin out. Bush already broke down the retarded barrier to higher office, now it’s up to her to break down the retarded-woman barrier.

176. Don | 01.28.09

As a committed democrat and Obama supporter, I hope to god Palin runs! Her illiterate and delusional supporters will ensure at least 8 years of Democratic rule.

177. darr west | 01.28.09

Remember this person buried herself in just two short months, this time around we have 47 months to see her self destruction, the only America this women aligns herself with is the middle. We all know from here on out the coasts will carry the elections!

178. Sunny | 01.28.09

I think Chris has a crush on Sarah.

179. Jonathan | 01.28.09

Sarah is our girl for 2012! Glad the PAC is formed - helps to keep driving the liberals nuts for four years.

180. Luddite | 01.28.09

Palin & Limbaugh in 2012! ******* of the world unite ! You have nothing to lose but your tire chains !

181. ericmiami | 01.28.09

Limbaugh/Palin in 2012? Goodbye, Republican Party!

182. Viva | 01.28.09

It’s a response to the latest ethics lawsuit filed against her. Now that she has a personal slush fund to pay for her nass-ty business maybe she will stop doing it on the public dime - but don’t hold your breath.

How could you Sarah-tragics think this rubbish keeps decent people awake?

183. Robert | 01.28.09

after watching sarah palin more than once I think she is an idiot.

184. Russ | 01.28.09

Donating money to politicos is like buying something from a store that has gone out of business. Donating money to this whacko is ‘way beyond that. Keep your money—you’re gonna need it after the last eight years of brilliant Republican schemes to demolish the nation and the world.

185. Emerson Mckey | 01.28.09

The ant-Palin comments on this tread are nothing if not amusing. I am not American, but I have followed the US PONTUS election closely. I thibk I have counted something like 70+ negative assertions or memes against Governor Sarah Palin. Having carefully researched them all (for a research paper on ‘narratives’), I am satisfied that they are all either verifiably false, are based on distortions, are pure invention (the ‘affair’ story), are the product of sick minds (the Trigg maternity story), are trivial, or, if they were committed by a Democrat, they would be overlooked or ignored. For example there is no solid eveidence whatsoever that Palin has ever tried to ban books, either believes in or wishes to imposed ‘creationism’ in schools, opposes contraception or, indeed have ever allowed her personal religious convictions to interfere with her political duties (she vetoes an attempt by the Alaskan legislature to recind same-sex benefits). As regards economic and fiscal matters, suffice it to say that Alaska is one of only five states in the black and will not be needing a bailout. I also carefully examined the careers of Obama and Biden. The thiness of Obama’s resume is startling, far, far thiner than Governor Palin’s. As for Biden, all one can say is, be very afraid of having such an obvious buffon ‘within a hearbeat’ of the presidency.

186. Joe | 01.28.09

No matter how the Obama nutjobs want to spin it, they are scared of Sarah Palin running against their Leader in 2012.

Palin connects with Average Americans, something Obama has trouble with.

It will be an interesting race, but after four years of of liberal social engineering and
anti-Christian bashing look for a Palin win.

187. Jonathan M | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is the most unabashedly ambitious politician in recent history. After ceding victory to Obama, McCain drove himself away from the event in an SUV. Palin on the other hand seems to have required a 15 car motorcade. She LOVES the power and the adoration.

Sarah Palin has a track record of vengeance against the people who disagree with her. Trying to fire a librarian. Troopergate. She will stop at nothing. She’s worse than Winnie Mandela, and totally willing to break the law if it suits her purposes.

When the RNC gave her 20k to spend on fancy clothing for the campaign, she went out and spent 150k, buying up expensive bags and purses for her kids. One McCain aid called it “Wasilla Hillbillies on a shopping spree”. Is this fiscal conservitavism?

Judge people by their principles. If you like this kind of candidate, then I say you haven’s studied history and the impulse for personal ambition.

188. Mark | 01.28.09

Palin all the way. A significant number of us internationals like people who’ll not lie down and die - at least that’s what the American movies have told us about Americans over the years. Hollywood and Obama’s media machinery ganged up and did not work only at home but has poisoned the international perception of the American conservative so that they can turn around and say ’see? they hate us’. Remember Obama’s rally in Germany? We in Africa would like to keep our conservative values that are being attacked mainly from America. Palin would help us preserve what we hold dear and if someone respects your values, they are likely to fight on your side. Obama’s belief system is obviously an indication of how much he detests his African roots.

189. Will Smith | 01.28.09

“The thiness of Obama’s resume is startling, far, far thiner than Governor Palin’s.” Emerson Mckey lost it right there. Which of these in real world terms can you say is a “far, far thinner” resume? A) Columbia degree, community service in a big city, Harvard law, law professorship at one of America’s top law schools, state senator representing hundreds of thousands, US Senator from populous state, B) Idaho degree, TV sports girl, very small town mayor, gov. of a small state. . . .

The answer, of course, is neither. So all your pretense to being a non-partisan non-America is humbug.

190. Tom | 01.28.09

It’s hard to take seriously one who gets shivers up his leg when his man gets elected.

191. ron shuman | 01.28.09

Ive got one thing to say about palin…MORON

192. Sandy | 01.28.09

Go ahead and run, Palin you idiot. It’s a shoe-in for the Dems. YES!

193. Leigh | 01.28.09

Sarah Palin is a political illiterate and, judging by the feedback here, so are all her supporters. Keep it up guys! You are the embodiment of the demise of the republican party and I’m loving it!

194. BayberryDrive | 01.28.09

Why, Oh Why would ANY rational citizen, Democratic or Republican, listen to anything Chris Wallace has to say after his election admission that seeing Obama gave him “a thrill up his leg”. And wasn’t there something about an 8th grade crush? This is not a journalist seeking the truth. This is a TV personality who really should be embarrassed to continue to report “the news” after his huge faux pas that has been ridiculed around the world and revealed instantly his true calling: head cheerleader and community organizer for Obama & the hysterical left.

195. Janet | 01.28.09

Emerson Mckey, reading your ‘extensive research based analysis’, I am quite convinced that you are far too ignorant to make any sensible judgement. (BTW the spelling is ‘rescind’ and not ‘recind’!! I am sure Palin would spell it the same way!!Long live brain-dead (s)!!)

196. Bruce Weik | 01.28.09

We can only hope Palin gets the nod. It would definitely guarantee Obama a second term. He’ll need that long to straighten up the mess left by the last Republican president…Who was that again? If she’s the best the Republicans got, bring her on. If nothing else, she does stimulate the economy. And she would greatly help the ratings for SNL.

197. Bruce Weik | 01.28.09

198. Palin 2012 | 01.28.09

Emerson McKey, That is one of the best post I have ever read. All of it true. Chris Matthews, whom I have never watched, will not report on what people want to read like giving our tax dollars to acorn or funding abortions overseas, etc. You know the stuff that really matters. He is a top notch reporter NOT! He is a clown. He should work for a circus. I could go on and on but I won’t. I just wanted to thank you for your truthful post.

199. PulSamsara | 01.28.09

So, Why are the statements that Sarah Palin in “illiterate” and that we should all “keep an I on her” - mutually exclusive ?

It will be GREAT if she runs in 2012 ! G-R-E-A-T !
Please run her GOP - pretty please ?

We should all fully expect the GOP to turn right for the 2012 bid :) Yeah ! More time in the wilderness for the Appalachian Party.
—————————————————————

and if you cant run Sarah - please run Mitt Romney :) that would be great too. - better yet… a shared ticket !

200. gonneyeats | 01.28.09

“When the Republicans get beat running a moderate like Nixon in 1960 or Jerry Ford in 76 or McCain in 08, the next time they tend to go right.”

What a ridiculous statement! McCain in ‘00 may have been a moderate. But the reason McCain in ‘08 lost is that he went too far right— in an attempt to regain his “base”.

201. Claudia Bala | 01.28.09

I don’t listen to anything mr. matthews says since the comment about mr. obama’s speech giving him “a tickle up my ‘LEG’”

203. eric | 01.28.09

Mind boggling how demented Dems are.

I agree with some Dem points of view (environment for example), and with Republicans on others.

So sad that grown people actually believe Sarah is stupid. Ask them to define why they think that and apply their response to Obama (the consummate liar, much like Clinton), and you can find 10 more similar items. (remember when Obama said he had stumped in 48 states, with 4 more to go?)

The fact is that both are human beings. But the Left has really become nasty these past 6 years, and it’s because of the blather coming from the media.

Get up in the morning realizing that ~50% of the population leans right, and then take all that quasi-hatred (orchestrated hatred really) they’ve got you all foaming at the mouth about, and then apply the dribble you spew to your neighbor, boss, co-worker, grocery clerk: Go on–stare them in the face and talk the nasty **** you spew and see how far that will get you in life. Most of you are a bunch of whining little posers with no spine.

Sad day in the world when grown people allow themselves to become so polarized. Definitely a sign of immaturity and low IQ.

204. Richard Prince | 01.28.09

Mathews is a idiot. He is completely wrapped in the world of sensationalist drivel that he could make an intelligent statement if his life depended on it. Palin is a complete ditz. An airhead. Dumb as a rock. Just because she is cunning and manipulative, this should not be mistaken for intelligence. I think we’ve learned enough as citizens putting ditzy airheads into office after George Bush and we should not want the awful consequences of incompetence to run this nation into the ground again.

205. Lizzy | 01.28.09

Mattews/Olbermann 2012!

206. Ian Montreal | 01.28.09

Keep your eye on Palin why, Is she promiscuous?

207. Obama 2012 | 01.28.09

Palin is as whacky as the rest of them. She is uneducated. Unethical. Un-thinking! A “hockey mom” hell-bent on driving the clock of science back to 1212! “Yes, Mrs. Palin, Africa is a CONTINENT.” If Palin is the GOP nomination, it signals that the party of Lincoln is a sinking ship.

208. bledred | 01.28.09

If personal ambition were the only requirement, Sarah would be Queen of all she surveys. Fortunately for us all, intelligence, integrity, and service won out this election.

209. Cal | 01.28.09

Palin really is George Bush in heels. A culturally conservative governor with alot of “aw shucks” charm but not alot of book smarts. I can easily see her as the frontman for the neocon wing of the GOP much like Bush before her. It would be foolish to rule her out as a candidate in 2012. Of course Id like to think that the country learned its lesson after 8 years of the Shrub but Im not holding my breath.

210. Hannah | 01.28.09

Did roncee actually imply upthread that Democrats are losing sleep at the thought of Palin making a run for election? LOL. You do realize that she single-handedly lost the election for McCain, right? LOL.

211. Rick W | 01.28.09

All these rightwingers want to blame “the media” for Palin’s failure. What a joke! She HID from the media for the entire campaign. So she gave a bad Couric interview…the response should have been to go out and do a 100 positive interviews to offset it. But instead she ran and hid and whined about being a victim. If a candidate cant handle the press they sure as heck cant handle running the country.

212. Cyd | 01.28.09

One thing is for sure. No one evokes such emotional reactions for the Dems than Sarah. I wonder why? Why would such a “loser” cause the entire liberal left to work in a frenzy to “discredit” her?

213. SCRIBE | 01.28.09

I am sick and tired of these perpetual campaigns. The new President has been in office 8 days, and already the corporate media is stirring things up for 2010 and 2012. The USA is on it’s way to oblivion and no one seems to care. All we hear about are these perpetual political campaigns, and trivial matters. Personally, I couldn’t care less what Ms Palin will do in the future. My concerns are with the here and now. I hope and pray the institutions that run this country change their ways , and get on with the business of governance. People are suffering in untold ways, but nothing is said until something tragic happens, such as the family murder/ suicide in California. The only substantiated facts regarding the mess we find ourselves is that the REPUBLICANS have been incharge of the federal government for 20 of the last 28 years. Why any rational person would want to give them the steering wheel again, is beyond belief. We need leadership now! The problems facing this country need solutions now. We can’t wait 2,4 or 8 years to clean up this mess !

214. Mark | 01.28.09

It is amazing how ignorant some of the posters on this board are. Bush and the Republicans drove this country right into a ditch and the second great depression. And now you want to put Caribou Barbie in charge? Is there no end to GOP stupidity?

215. Steve | 01.28.09

The best thing Republicans can do for Democrats is to let Saran run.

216. brad | 01.28.09

“Palin all the way,- and for Cris ‘Call out the hounds””

So many hilarious errors. It’s great when you can look at text and grammatically tell that a person is a Palin supporter.

217. Amy | 01.28.09

Emerson- if you think all the negatives on Sarah were made up by Democrats, then you haven’t seen the taping of Sarah with her pastor who is screaming about witches and evil, etc. VERY,VERY SCARY!!!!!!!!!

218. Paeg | 01.28.09

Unless we elect Congressmen and -women and a president (like Sarah Palin) who are committed to the protection of America and the right of an individual to self-determination (managing one’s own personal and professional life), then we sacrifice all of these things on the altar of liberalism (read: Socialism, Marxism and Communism).

What we see in well over 90% of Congress, in our president, his appointees and in the mainstream media is elitism in its most virulent form - see definition below.

ELITISM: The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their PERCEIVED superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources. **The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class. **Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

I pray that, demand that our country be governed by statesmen (men and women of character and integrity who are not for sale no matter the amount of money and power offered). … who will sever the heads of the monster our government has become and install a government that will do for us ONLY what we cannot (as opposed to WILL not) do for ourselves.

I resolve to work toward that end.

219. Mojoe | 01.28.09

Who was it that said, “I have never met a happy liberal?” So true, Libs are so scared of Sarah Palin. She has many, many more supporters now that BO is in the white house and has begun making his Change We Can Believe In. What a joke. Keep it coming. Sarah is looking better and better.

222. Ginny Bain Allen | 01.28.09

223. Joe Buck | 01.28.09

Palin is an embarrassment to the Republican Party.

224. Lisa | 01.28.09

How nice that the right will choose to elect a Barbie puppet to save the country…..She’ll match well with the Ken Good ol Boy puppet who just left. Why not just elect a android? (SarahPAC=Sarah People’s Android Committee.)
Hope the android learns where Pakistan is….and Waziristan, Balouchistan, Kahsmir, the Northwest Frontier Provinces, tribal areas…….(This is a woman who files for per diems to live at her home….) I’m afraid that programming in the location of high end consignment shops, Neiman Marcus, Manolo Blahnik etc. won’t help with foreign policy.
It would be helpful if it knew that “drop outs” are the ones who ARE in GED programs because they have “dropped out of school.”
Oh, and…it would be nice if it could speak coherently…… Must have requisite baby on shoulder….gaggle of kids around (expenses paid by taxpayers, of course) and needs a rugged android partner who will get “CCed” on official emails and run the country with the “elected” android when not enjoying activities with successionist groups in grand old “Live Free or Die” manner.

225. Alexandra | 01.28.09

Palin is NOT qualified to run for the White House. It doesn’t matter that she’s somewhat pretty, or that she “talks like the rest of us.” She is an Alaskan LOCAL politician who has absolutely NO experience or knowledge of international relations, national economics, education (clearly she doesn’t instill a value of it in her own family), or energy (take a look at what’s happening to the Yukon area Alaskan towns that are having to choose between food and heat this winter and are having “food drops” flown in). She is a clever opportunist but she is no Mitt Romney. No John McCain. She is simply a small-town politician who gained some publicity running for a US VP position that her running mate never intended for her to actually be active within. The fact that McCain made campaign decisions without even informing her should have been a clear signal to everyone that he saw her as a place-holder. Period. And that is really all she is skilled enough to be.

226. RichmondRob | 01.28.09

It is interesting to read all of the negative comments about Palin. If she is such a loser as you say she is, why do you bother writing your comments? I think you underestimate this woman and are looking for a someone to trash. One poor TV interview is not enough to show me that she is an idiot and just because she has different social views doesn’t show her to be out of touch. I, for one, think that she can gain respectability over the next 4 years and possibly be a truly viable candidate. I suspect the Left wing bashers realize the same thing and figure the more they laugh her off the better the chances of stopping her. Go Sarah! You obviously touch a real nerve.

227. Independence | 01.28.09

Thank you Emerson McKey!

228. MemphisBelle | 01.28.09

It’s funny but there are a lot of kool-aid drinkers on this site. You elected a Vice President who didn’t know the V.P. was Chairman of the Senate after being a member for 30 years. He had to be corrected by none other than Governor Sarah Palin. The illiteracy rate among Obama voters is very high nearly 80% in Detroit alone. I think it was very exciting to see history made in electing the first African American as president of the U.S. However, when people realize how much of their money is being wasted, they will feel duped. Just look at the Secretary of the Treasury. Should I refuse to pay my taxes until I become a cabinet member? Corruption is already rearing its ugly head.

I hope someone comes out with a parody on Tina Fey and other Hollywood types. I saw her acceptance speech along with others such as Sally Field. Giving a speech and making sense is not their forte. It was hilarious. I never thought they were very intelligent and they proved it.

229. sick | 01.28.09

why do you only print comments against sarah or better yet in favor of BO?
oh that’s right you are biased media. not like fox news who are fair and balanced.no wonder you have such low ratings. no wonder fox news is #1.

230. Ginny Bain Allen | 01.28.09

Folks, do you really expect Chris Matthews to talk differently than he does? Pigs wallow in the mud.

231. sherri | 01.28.09

aside from the fact that she should face legal problems in the future for her misleading statements and questionable splurges, Palin stories are have been proven as bogus and is a hypocrite regarding family values. Maybe she’ll pick Joe the “Plumber, as her VP, since that was her mentor on the economy, while Barack Obama’s was Warren Buffett. Her claims of cutting government waste, and her middle class values are all lies. The truth is that, although the Palins are worth well over $1 million, the governor still feels entitled to dip her hand in the collective cookie jar. She’s a freeloader, not a reformer. And the taxpayers and political donors are paying the tab for her personal expenses. If she can’t hold a conversation with Katie Couric, i’d hate to have her represent this country to the world!

232. to Emerson McKey | 01.28.09

Yes, you are absolutely correct that there have been numerous negative and false claims about Sarah Palin. There have also been numerous false and negative assertions about President Obama (he’s not American, he is a Muslim, he is a Separatist, he “pals around with terrorists”, he was sworn into the Senate on the Quran, etc., etc.). These types of distractions are always designed to exploit certain individuals tendency allow emotional response to trump rational response. The real issue here is that Sarah Palin is a far right Republican and exemplfies the outdated ultra-conservative philosophy shared by an increasingly irrelevant minority of Americans. Thin resume or not (actually I’ll argue that point with you too. . . a communications degree obtained after 3 college transfers is not even in the same universe as being editor of the Harvard Law Review!) Obama represents a growing majority of Americans that believe government should work with and for the people. The Sarah Palins of the world are (thankfully) a dying breed.

233. jerdan | 01.28.09

Oh yes, let’s hope she runs in 2012. It’ll be an even bigger Democrat win.

234. to MemphisBelle | 01.28.09

Are you actually arguing that 80% of Obama supporters are illiterate. Wow. In that case, I heard that 90% of McCain voters are gullible schmucks that believe everything they read on the internet and hear on Rush Limbaugh. Corruption rearing its head? You want to talk about corruption. . .let’s talk for a moment about our last President and Vice President. . .you know, the guys that altered intelligence reports to justify a preemptive war that has killed 4231 American soldiers and God only knows how many Iraqis. But your right. . .our Treasury Secretary forgetting to pay some of his taxes is what we should really be worked up about.

235. dufy | 01.28.09

god, i hope she runs. please, please let her do it. that will prove to the world that the republicans are still comitted to running on a platform of “good, old american values” while simultaneously stripping us all of our freedoms and voices to disagree. she was not unfairly treated by the press……she was unfairly treated by her own mind. she put herself on the stage without the chops. she is a community theater actress, at best.

236. Julie in VT | 01.28.09

As an American just thrilled and relieved by the election of Barack H. Obama, I, for one, am PRAYING that the likes of Sarah Palin gets the rightwing nod in 2012. This will assure another four years in office for our current president. GO SARAH!!!!!!

I enjoy your show. However, the Presidency is now in the hands of adult supervision and is going to stay that way for the next 8 years!

Obama is the big dog now! He won.

He will stride this country like a Colossus for the next eight years.

8 years from now Palin will be the long forgotten political road kill.

239. Go away Sarah | 01.28.09

240. basementfrog | 01.28.09

Yea, lets elect another really dumb person like George W. and R. Reagan.

That will solve our problems, anti unamerican, self-interest, anti-tax, huge deficit morons.

Boy , can’t wait for another one. Next time, perhaps even this time, we’ll become a third world country with jobs that pay us at a level equal to China and India workers. I believe the Senator from Tennessee said that, “the american worker needs to start learning to live like the workers in china and india.”

Great americans, these guys.

Oh, what about the great dismantling of America that has taken place at the hands of the Republican party for the last 27 years. Reaganomics, yea, great stuff…deregulate, rich pay no tax, workers support all.

Great group…real americans my wazoo.

Democrats are the ONLY reason I support abortion.

242. Jerry C. | 01.28.09

It amazes me how much you lefties hate Sarah. All the more reason for me to like her really. Twice I have seen quotes from Tina Fey quoted as though Sarah herself had said them.

Brilliant. Just amazing.

No wonder we got stuck with a socialist president. You Democraps gets your news and information from SNL.

Wait until all the idiots ram the Porkulus Bill through congress, we won’t have to worry about Obama in 2012 either.

243. a clown | 01.28.09

Why won’t you publish ANY negative comments against your wonderful Hussein Obama or Chris Matthews??????????????????????????????????????????????? I have been posting comments all day long and not ONE has shown up. Why????

To Emerson Mckey;

If you are truly a researcher, you must be horrible at it. The “Affair” Story is most assuredly true. Sarah is from Wasilla and Brad is from Palmer, both politicians in their respective small town communities. Affairs don’t happen without the whole town knowing it. Plus, follow the court document trail concerning Mr. Hanson’s divorce. Isn’t it odd how just a short time before the Inquirer story hit the news wire, his divorce record was sealed…

Also, you again failed in your research of Gov. Palin’ veto of rescinding same sex benefits. What she did was veto rescinding them because it was attached to another bill without discussion. She also said at the same time: “I will pass any bill rescinding same sex benefits as long as it is a clean bill.”

Oh. And the book banning thing. You are half right… she didn’t actually ban books, but you should take the time to read the original story that prompted this discussion and even have a word or two with the Wasilla Librarian.

I have tried to post so many comments today. NONE of which have been posted. You are so biased. NO wonder your ratings are so low. I hope you fail and take Chris Matthews with you

GWB and Palin. Why is the right so in love with sub-standard intellects?

Now finally with Obama after 8 years America has a president that can speak proper English.

9-11 WAS FINANCED WITH OIL MONEY!!!!! That by itself should get all patriotic Americans on board with reducing American use of oil.

247. Colleen Gibson | 01.29.09

Palin for 2012? Good Lord, no..

249. Melba Narberth | 01.29.09

“We are done with the red scare aren’t we?”

Until every schoolchild in America, as well as every adult in America, is aware of the demonstrable fact that communists killed an estimated 125 million people in the 20th century, no, we’re not done with the “red scare.”

Funny how every day we still have a “racist scare,” although communists stacked up far more dead bodies than racists ever did.

Please, 1-20-13 can’t get here quick enough ! Does Chris still , “…get a thrill up my leg”, every time he hears Obama speak ? Boy, talk about biased reporting, no wonder he and Keith O. were booted from further coverage of the election.

251. lisa | 01.29.09

Yes, keep an eye on Palin… in these troubled times we could all use a good laugh

252. angel | 01.29.09

Just read where Sarah Palin’s fan base has increased since Bo took office. Seems like people are not happy with this so called stimulus or as I say spending package. Yeah go Sarah. I have NEVER watched Chris Matthews, don’t even know who he is. But it sounds like he is not too smart.
