GOP PAC: You vote for the stimulus package? You're on notice

U.S. President Barack Obama checks his watch as he greets wellwishers upon his arrival at MacDill Air Force Base in Fort Myers, Florida February 10, 2009. Obama travelled to Fort Myers to push his administration's economic stimulus package.

OK, so now that we've entered a post-partisan era does it apply to members within the same party?

If it does, someone needs to tell the National Republican Trust Fund PAC, pronto!

Mad

These guys are fire-spittin' mad that some Republicans are crossing the line to support the gigantoid stimulus package. It's like a crime against the party - and in the immortal words of Baretta, "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."

Both FOX News and the Washington Times are reporting that the political action committee aims to do something against these perpetrators.

"Republican Senators are on notice," the group's director Scott Wheeler said. "If they support the stimulus package we will make sure every voter in their state knows how they tried to further bankrupt voters in an already bad economy."

On the list

So far that means three Republicans are on Wheeler's list. Maine Senators Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe and Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter. Collins was just re-elected so she'll escape Wheeler's wrath until 2014.

But Snowe and Specter? They're up in 2010.

Together, Forever

It would seem likely that Florida's Republican Governor, Charlie Crist, will not be on Wheeler's Christmas holiday card list if he decides to run for Senate to replace Mel Martinez.

After all, President Obama and Crist are appearing together in Florida to sell the package.

Definition

By the way, if you were wondering what post-partisanship actually means? We Googled it. According to the New America Foundation (who wants the old America, anyway?), it means:

"Post-partisanship isn't about transcending left-right partisan loyalty. Instead, in both its original, and its evolving new meaning, it's substantially about generational change and generational equity."

Oh, of course.
