Secretary of State Hillary Clinton let it be known today that she thought highly of Texas Congressman Ron Paul's sway with his supporters. "I just want to say, having campaigned during the last presidential election, you had the most enthusiastic supporters of anybody I ever saw," she said.

Hillary Clinton digs Ron Paul
By Jimmy Orr | 04.22.09
Love was in the air this afternoon on Capitol Hill. Some bipartisan love.
No, it wasn’t between President Obama and Rush Limbaugh. Today they proved they couldn’t be any further apart.
It happened when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was testifying in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Among the numerous topics discussed, Clinton shed light on the administration’s thoughts on piracy, Cuba, relations with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a nuclear-armed Iran, and the future of Indonesia.
Could there be a better array of topics to spark some romance?
Ron Paul
It was when Texas Congressman Ron Paul asked her if there was any real change in foreign policy under this new administration when Clinton let it be known that she had a thing for the former Republican presidential candidate (or at least his supporters).
“And, at the risk of going over our time, I just want to say, having campaigned during the last presidential election, you had the most enthusiastic supporters of anybody I ever saw,” she gushed.
“I love to hear that,” he replied.
“Well, I mean, my goodness, everywhere I went they were literally running down highways holding your signs,” she said. “I’ve never had a chance to tell you that. But your message obviously resonated with a lot of people.”
A grinning, and perhaps blushing, Paul politely thanked her for the kind words before the chairman of the committee admonished Clinton.
“You’re going to encourage him!” squawked Chairman Howard Berman.

Another great point/question from Dr. Paul (- the real “change candidate” from the last election! If the republicans had any sense, they would have picked him to run against Obama, and that would have been a fair fight).
Even now he seems to be the only one in the right with any real credibility.

I like Ron Paul too, and his message does continue to resonate. His question seemed to ramble a bit,(much like his campaign)however. We need more like Ron Paul, and less like the Clintons in spite of his verbosity.

Dr. Paul deserves more recognition like this. He also needs to consider campaigning to save this country in 2012!

Dr. Paul encouraged millions of American’s to question government. We stood in the rain, We walked the highways in snow, We fixed his signs from wind and replaced them when removed. The American’s that awoke are mostly sleeping again waiting for the next great man to speak the truth on capital hill. Will it be 2012, or will it be a DHS Right Wing Extremest?
Across the country, groups have been built to promote the education of the constitution and small government both democrat and republican. The days to sit back and watch are long gone, find or start a local group and get involved. Call your legislators, and demand more from those elected.
A government for the people, by the people.

HILLARY KNOWS HOW TO WALK THE WALK AND TALK THE TALK…TO MAKE HERSELF LOOK GOOD FIRST AND FOREMOST.
17. John | 04.23.09
Didn’t she call us terrorists not too long ago? Or was that someone else from the soviet style propaganda engine that we have?
18. madman | 04.23.09
Are you people for real? Seriously! It’s the same as Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, or any other who is now jumping on the Ron Paul train.
YES! Absolutely, Ron Paul is the best man to lead this country, but billary clinton despises Ron Paul or any other American who loves this country!
You people need to wake up. billary clinton attended the bilderberg meetings, as well as o-bumma. They are pure evil, who want to destroy this country! They have nothing but resentment and disdain for Ron Paul, the true American patriot! Wake Up!

A nuclear-free world is not a prospect in any conscious mind.
This is simply very indicative of an administration not being in step with all realities currently evident in our world.

Is anyone in the MSM effectively dissecting what is truly being said in Washington?
21. Mark Anderson | 04.23.09
To answer the other poster’s question: no, Hillary didn’t really answer the question. I can’t too excited about the alleged accolades she gave to Ron Paul. If you listen carefully to what she said, her props to Ron Paul was more of a psychological ploy to evade the issue. She tried to say that the “problem” is that troops can’t be morphed into diplomats. What does that have to do with it? How do you have diplomats fight a war? And why would that have required a 9% increase in the DoD budget, as she seemed to suggest? If they are really trying to stop the militarism, you don’t INCREASE the DoD budget. Why do they need to INCREASE the DoD budget to convert troops to diplomats?

R. P. is a libertarian, not a right winger. Libertarian thought has an important role to play in American politics and Paul does a pretty good job of representing it. I’d really hate to see him put in charge of anything though. He is an intelligent and thoughtful man but he isn’t a leader. I respect him but I wouldn’t follow him anywhere I didn’t want to go in the first place.
23. Rob | 04.23.09
What we need are more thoughtful intelligent men running this country. WE DON’T NEED “LEADERS”…This country was never just a bunch of followers until now…People that believe in individualism are being called brainwashed by the truly brainwashed…
24. Mr. Hill Billy | 04.23.09
If I know Hillery, Like I think I know Hillery — It was nothing more than a political jab to weaken Ron Paul in the eyes of Big “R” Republicans. — We don’t need more division between the Republicans. But with the admiring compliment as witnessed — This is exactly what will follow. Ron Paul will be ridiculed over the alleged love affair of Ron and Hillery - Paullery!
Sincerely,
Mr. Hill Billy

all the senators know whats going on with our government and have for a long time, its just Dr. Paul with the balls to do something about it
26. Tim | 04.23.09
Well, that’s a great way to stop the only effective questioner from asking you the tough questions. If Dr. Paul fell for this sort of fake flattery, it really is no wonder he ended up in the back room with “Bruno.”
27. Ryan | 04.23.09
All you Ron Paul supporters do make a difference!!!! Everyone is watching, you are the future of this Nation! Keep up the Excellent work and energy!!!
28. Benjamin D. | 04.23.09
I’m happy to see Mrs. Clinton gave Ron Paul some respect. This, to me seemed to be the most bi-partisan moment during this administration, thus far. Republicans need to wake up and smell the truth about our foreign policy of policing the world; that’s where they truly lack connection with the voters. However, I do believe the Democrats have their kinks to work out on that same issue as well. Thats why there is the good Dr. Paul to put their feet to the fire! He is one of the very few honest representatives this nation has and is the Champion of the Constitution!

After reading eons of comments here-I am truly glad that there are age restrictions on holding public office. Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul share one very important vision. That America remain a great nation, and help guide the world instead of follow it. One can disagree with someones political point of view-yet admire and respect the drive and accomplishments of an adversary. Both individuals are truly great people in their own right for different reasons. They both have my respect.
32. Trevor | 04.24.09
Why would you not dig Ron Paul?
Even if you totally disagree with all of his viewpoints and philosophies- you have to at least admire the guy for being independent and truthful to what he believes, and he never takes cheap-shots, total gentlemen.
33. blakmira | 04.24.09
Not much “respect” was given to Ron Paul by Hillary; twas mostly a deflection ploy so as to evade the question (as noted by other commentors).
Of course, she is also keenly aware and jealous of the loyal and dedicated support he has, and believes she is much more deserved of them (dream on).
She does have her own natural lying and evasion talents, though she learned from the best (hubby Bill with his no-inhaling and Monica scandal denials while dropping bombs and adding death penalties to the War on Drugs).
We love Ron Paul. So, get over it, Billary. Your face is starting to look like a certain painting of Dorian Gray…
35. bystander | 04.25.09
Ron Paul stands for REAL CHANGE.
Obama’s change is a change of style for doing the same thing.
Ron Paul is probably the most consistent politician around.
36. Andrew | 04.25.09
Ron Paul is a man of ideals. The simple fluctuation of his support and dissent are now set in a mixed group of individuals, some who trust themselves and their neighbors, and those who are scared.
And it all boils down to the money. And if money is power, then power is money. With both they begin to discover the power of manipulation. Like manipulating the gas intakes in a B-52 Bomber. They think they need to get somewhere - a byproduct of fear - and they need to use the resources they have left to make it to the island of safety and shelter.
I love what America was, and where it has gotten us. And yet we live in a country where the term “Laissez-faire” is scarlet, and freedom anything is to be questioned and considered a concern for safety.
Truly a feeling in the gut, nowadays seeming more remnant of the feelings I had on the day of 9/11. Truly no words can capture the feelings some people have when they think of their country. As well, juxtaposed to this (and by perception a complete reciprocity) is a true feeling of confusion, and fear. A questioning of morals that has no answer.
Ron Paul is my President. Ron Paul understands that the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. Ron Paul understands that the time a person has on this planet is his/her own property. Ron Paul thinks for himself, and as well completely realizes that to benefit everybody equally, is certainly the safest and best way to benefit ones self. Ron Paul questions authority, and trusts the freedom of every individual.
I pray (consider in thought fundamentally) for my country. I see the light through the canopy.
FREEDOM SLEEPS. RON PAUL LEAPS.
RESTORE CHECKS AND BALANCE.

It’s pretty clear the right is trying to hijack Ron Paul’s message by co-opting the tea party movement. Mrs. Clinton is very intelligent and politically astute. She used a minute to complement what may be a significant percent of the voting public. The only obstacle left is convincing them into the lesser of two evils argument that enslaves us.
That is my cynical side. I prefer to believe that this was a genuine moment between politicians. I believe she has more respect for America because of our support for an honest man.
38. Anonymous | 04.27.09
But Hillary is a neo-aristocrat, just like the rest of the People’s handlers. What she really means is, no, Dr. Paul, I deeply disagree with you about letting the people of our country do what they want, it’s important that we the politicians have all the power so we can lead them.
39. Antony | 04.27.09
Many years from now Ron Paul will be remembered as a person who gave freedom back to the Amercian people. He is a real living American hero and if you dont know what Ron Paul represents look him up! research him on youtube, it’s your chance to find out what he means to America.
For those who support Ron Paul REMEMBER to contact your local representitive encouraging them to support his bill HR 1207 The Federal Reserve Transparency Act 2009.
Im sick of paying taxes knowing that lots of the money ends up lining the pockets of corruption, Its time to free us from all the corruption and greed in the financial system.

I dig Ron Paul too. He is all about truth.
