The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has condemned President Obama's ninja-like killing of a fly earlier this week. It is unlikely however that members of PETA will show up to protest in front of the White House, however.

PETA condemns Obama for murdering innocent fly
By Jimmy Orr | 06.18.09
A couple days ago we mentioned that we hadn’t heard from PETA yet about President Obama’s deadly attack on an innocent housefly who set up residence in the White House.
That doesn’t mean they didn’t care. They were just slow on the draw. But don’t take that as a lack of interest. Oh, they’re interested…
Condemnation
Obama’s ninja-like moves, which resulted in the murder of said fly on Tuesday, has resulted in harsh condemnation of the president by the animal rights group.
Well, maybe not that harsh. They view Obama’s actions as perhaps more of a teachable moment.
“He isn’t the Buddha, he’s a human being, and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act,” writes Alisa Mullins on the PETA blog.
Gift
To that end, they’re sending him a PETA-branded “Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher”. It allows you to place “the device over the bug and slowly slide its plastic trapdoor shut. The bug will step onto the trapdoor as it closes, and you can carry Katcha Bug outside, where all you need to do is slide the trap door open, allowing the bug to walk away.”
Well, that’s nice. But the use of this instrument would have resulted in a far less dramatic scene. Obama walked away from the interview looking like Chuck Norris. Who knows how high Obama’s approval rating will soar as a result of the tough-on-defense action.
Compassion
Doesn’t make any difference to PETA. They believe the president needs to show compassion regardless of high polling numbers.
“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”
Until he shows more compassion, will members of PETA show up in giant fly costumes protesting the president? We’re guessing probably not.

There is wisdom in this statement though.
“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals. We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”
Yes, it’s very simple to swat a fly, and it appears to be a lot more difficult for most people to understand why a fly doesn’t need to be killed, why there can be a true humane feeling in letting the tiniest insect go unharmed. Rather than ridiculing those who do understand why, you should try to find the answer to that by yourself.
4. Bill | 06.18.09
This is stupid. Once PETA had a place and I supported them financially but this level of stupidity, which alienates them from other, logical humans more and more is why they are losing face and support around the world. How about mosquitoes?.. catch them and let them go also?.. and all the other disease spreaders? Grow up. Do not ever expect any more support from me or my family. Go hug a scorpion.
5. james | 06.18.09
OK. we are all humans. in HUMAN NATURE we are greedy and savage. that is our nature. Do we stop a lion from killing? Must we prevent animals from their natural instincts?
6. patrick | 06.18.09
What a stupid made up controversy. I’m not a big fan of PETA, but really, how stupid is this. Where is this “condemnation” you write of? From what I understand, the media contacted PETA. Do you expect them to take a pro-fly killing position?
And the best you’ve been able to come up with is a blog post? No official statement from Ingrid Newkirk?
Pretty lame.
7. Ron | 06.18.09
Am I the only one who thinks this scene was staged? That close-up of the fly didn’t look very squashed to me. It looked like it died of natural causes and was placed there by a stage hand.
The lapdog press is fawning all over itself to carry this illegal immigrant’s water.
An oval office occupant that uses such gutter language joins the list of those lacking presidential bearing, e.g. Richard Nixon.
9. Teeps | 06.18.09
Jeez people. I support he general notion of PETA and, while I still slip up, I have made much more effort than most at going Vegan as much as possible… and this is definitely not because of health concerns, but solely because of concerns for the animals in our food supply…. and the fact that, as an ecologist, I know that eating meat is energetically unfeasible in an overpopulated world.
However, while convincing someone like me might not be that difficult, convincing Joe Schmo is harder. When you take a ridiculous stance like this, you simply shoot yourselves in the foot. You are just making mockeries of yourselves and hurting your own cause.
Flies? Really? Be a bit smarter and try to understand your opponent and how to convince them. This is not it.
10. Bruce | 06.18.09
Flies carry diseases. He was right in exterminating it. Should Terminix be called to the carpet for killing insects? What about stepping on an ant? While I do not kill spiders, ants or other “good” bugs, I personally draw the line at mosquitos, flies, ticks, etc. You get the picture.
11. Lisa from TX | 06.18.09
PETA obviously has WAY too much time on their hands. Flies are nasty and if one is in my home it will meet the same fate. Gimme a break!
If you want to do something more worthwhile then do something about the hundreds of horses that are put on double decker “cattle trucks” and sent to Mexico and Canada for a horrible death. There needs to be a more humane way to deal with the injured/unwanted horses. And that applies for dogs/cats too. Quit worrying about a single fly. Get a life!!
12. Lisa from TX | 06.18.09
PETA obviously has way too much time on their hands. What about the thousands of dogs/cats put to death or the hundreds of horse packed into “cattle trucks” sent to a horrible death in Mexico and Canada.
Gimme a break!!!
13. BamBam | 06.18.09
I saw Obama eating animal crackers once…OUTRAGEOUS!
PETA, what a bunch of buffoons. In 1996, PETA wanted the town of Fishkill, NY to change its name, claiming it suggests cruelty to fish. “It seems like a light-hearted subject at first. But the real issue behind the name of Fishkill is the violent imagery,” PETA spokeswoman Anne Sullivan said.
The area around Fishkill, New York, was founded by the Dutch in the early 1600s; the ‘kill’ part in the name is actually the Dutch word for ’stream.’
And yet in 1996, PETA put to death more than 97 percent of the dogs, cats, and other pets it took in for adoption in 2006. During that year, the well-known animal rights group managed to find adoptive homes for just 12 pets.
Idiots…everyone of them. I will eat a steak tonight in their honor.
14. okname | 06.18.09
How many flies do the PETA people kill with their cars on the way to their protests?
15. Old Guy | 06.18.09
Flies, rats, mice are vermin. Cattle, swine, fish and poultry are food. (Delicious, BTW.) PETA will not change my mind, expecially by acting like wing-nuts, as they consistently do. I eat meat in moderation, and do not hunt or fish for sport. I do, however, enjoy eating animals and will kill vermin when needed.
16. Ray | 06.18.09
All life should be respected, however, when it comes to killing a fly, or other disease carrying organism, that’s where I draw the line. Hey Mr. Fly, if you wish to continue living, find a PETA household, because if you come into my home, YOUR DEAD!
18. ken | 06.18.09
According to PETA’s logic, it would seem malaria eradication programs in Africa should be put on hold. All those poor little mosquitoes…
19. Ruben | 06.18.09
I am sick and tired that people are waiting for any opportinity to criticize Obama. PETA are just a bunch of dumb bunch of people who I bet don’t even follow what they stand for. What a group of idiots!!!!!
20. Phillip | 06.18.09
What’s the big deal? I was able to catch fly the way he did when i was 7 years old. Maybe because I was born in former USSR and we had lots of flies to practice. I say dodging 2 shoes by Bush was more impressive ![]()
22. Lance | 06.18.09
PETA suffers from mission creep. Their movement began with a noble cause - halting the abuse of animals. But like the political correctness movement, they’ve moved well beyond core abuses to fringe absurdities. Protesting the death of a fly is absurd. Reasonable people think it absurd. By advocating absurd positions, PETA risks debasing their legitimate cause - halting the abuse of animals. Centrists in their movement should reassert control before the damage is permenant.
23. Anon | 06.18.09
I’ll assume that no one from PETA drives. Or that they don’t check their grill after they get out. Must be a tough life to avoid killing insects.
PETA should stick to its original purpose and the only purpose for which it needs to exist, blatant cruel animal abuse.
24. Deb | 06.18.09
Does PETA actualy expect people to take them seriously after this????
I think the PETA people need to GRAB A LIFE!
Quick question for PETA: Is it ethically ok to ‘kill’ a fly if the fly is infected with the west nile virus? What about ticks with lyme disease - is that okay??
I can’t take PETA seriously ……..
25. really!! | 06.18.09
Really!! dont we have anything else better to do!! People are dying from hunger, War etc. and we are talking about a fly?
27. Momtothree | 06.18.09
Ridiculous! Flies are gross! They lay eggs in food and are a basic nuisance when inside the house. I say good for him! I can’t swat one that good ![]()
If PETA is this concerned about a fly then I guess they all must be serious Buddhists and not even step on ants on a daily basis, or kill germs etc… Gimme a break! They are complete nutters that need to come back down to reality. They are loosing their minds because of the lack of protein in their diets ;P LOL!!
29. James | 06.18.09
PETA could actually become a productive, positive activist group if they would pick their battles and put their efforts into the causes that most people would support. Unfortunately, they open their doors to any loon out there with a cause and let them represent their organization without any thought to screening those individuals, therby giving a black-eye to the organization as a whole. I’m all for saving a species, but I think the world could do without mosquitoes.
30. NinaK | 06.18.09
wow, are all of us who have gotten rid of those pesky flies going to burn in **** forever? PETA is out of their mind, people have been swatting flies forever. Anyone remember how people used to hang this sticky strip to “catch” the flies, where the flies would get stuck and die? I believe in animal rights, however, giving anyone a bad time for killing a fly is outrageous. Perhaps we should put these people in a roomful of flies, mosquitos, etc., and let them try “trapping” them. I woudld venture to say they would give up on the “trapping” and swat those flies to death. PETA needs to turn their attention elsewhere, like the wolves and moose in Alaska!!
31. Owl | 06.18.09
A few Tee shirt ideas:
1.A huge fly head with the caption “what happened?”
2.A face of Obama, frowning, with the caption “fly murderer.”
3.Obama holding a big stick, with a pig head on it, and underneath: “Lord of the Flies.”
4.A flyswatter “What wussies use.”
32. Finnette52 | 06.18.09
This is absurd! I mean really! It’s a friggin’ fly! Flies carry millions of germs and spread disease. The first thing a fly does when it lands on something is puke! What’s next? Mosquitoes? How about bed bugs, amoeba?
Get real, people! We’ve got bigger problems to worry about in this country than the President swatting a disease ridden fly. Hey PETA, ever hear of common sense?
33. Bruce | 06.18.09
No wonder PETA has the widely held image of a bunch on nutjobs. How can anyone take them seriously. Is a fly the best use of their time and money? If i was PETA supporter and has contributed to their cause I’d be disgusted.
34. JoeB | 06.18.09
“those lacking presidential bearing”
Please ensure you include W whose inept manner of speech, blatant lies, 3rd grade vocabulary and reliance on puppet master Cheney certainly strip him of any respect due the office.
35. Jason | 06.18.09
…and PETA is not pefect either. I’m sure every one of their members always does the right thing.
36. DeEvolution | 06.18.09
I suppose PETA people dont drive as there would be hundreds of flys smashed on the windshield, that takes out bike riding to, and walking without looking at the ground.
37. Ray | 06.18.09
“The lapdog press is fawning all over itself to carry this illegal immigrant’s water.”
You’re an immigrant too, so go deport yourself. Unless you were born on US soil of indigenous heritage you are an immigrant you bigot.
38. GrandestR | 06.18.09
OK… solutions all around. Let’s find a willing or not so willing PETA nut and build an insect holding room, which said nut will inhabit and suffer the stings, bites, and diseases of any and all captured pests. To put the fly issue into perspective, UNESCO judges that more than 40 million people worldwide are held in some form of enslavement or involuntary servitude. 500 million people live in what the World Bank terms “absolute ppverty,” meaning on the brink of death from lack of food, water, medicine and clothing and suitable housing. Every year 15 million children die from malnutrition. Most of them are people under 18. Flies? Ask these people about flies…
I agree with posters’ general sentiment that PETA ought to focus on issues of more overriding importance. Confined, hobbled feed lot animals killed inhumanely and de-beaked chickens are one thing. Lice, flies, mosquitoes and black flies in Africa that cause river blindness, roaches, rats and so forth are another. It’s the ridiculous conflation of a narrow “good cause” with a fanatical cause that renders normal people numb to the original uplifting message.
39. DAVE HACKETT | 06.18.09
Um……since when is a fly an animal? The only instinct they have is which pile of excrement to land on next.
40. Dave | 06.18.09
OK… little people with little minds, don’t let the media walk you around by the hand like a small child. PeTA did NOT condemn the swatting of a fly, they are an awesome group and many of you should learn how to act by watching what they do.
If you are truely interested, read this:
41. Patrick | 06.18.09
I’m not sure how to break this to you DAVE, but flies, like all insects, are animals.
This doesn’t really add to the discussion much, but it’s a jokey blog post about another blog post of a hyperbolic animal rights organization regarding the president’s killing of a fly, so there’s really not much to disrupt.
42. MamaP | 06.18.09

What a great saying. God how I hate PETA. They take everything to the extreme. I’m waiting for them to come after me. I mean it’s cruelty to animals to keep fish in captivity right? LOL. Someone needs to shut them down permanently! There is nothing wrong with swatting a fly. I sprayed a wasp today with water b/c it was circling my 1 yr old son. Better have me arrested all you PETA people.
43. NoBODY | 06.18.09
I have been a PETA supporter as will as my Mom has and we believe PETA has gone to far and will now be thinking of my support in the future. You need to get a grasp on life and pull your head out.
44. PaulZ | 06.18.09
What silliness, but also should be a warning to those who insist on
supporting this extreme group. Send their leader into Obama’s office and let him take care of that “fly.”
45. Brian | 06.18.09
I find it hard to believe anything PETA says is worth listening to.
Peta kills animals: http://www.petakillsanimals.com/
47. Marcos El Malo | 06.18.09
Listen up vegetarians: for every animal you don’t eat, I’m going to eat THREE. (Hat tip to Maddox http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=grill )
This ranks up here with their anti-fish campaign, that portrays fish as “sea kittens”, i.e., too cute to eat. Check it out: http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/ and tell me these people aren’t crazy.
The real problem with PETA is that the people in charge of it are moral absolutist. Because of this, they see everything in black and white. They’re just as nutty as Islamic Fundamentalists and the Extreme Right Wing Christians.

What I find impressive is that someone invented a catch and release bug catcher. Imagine the endless hours of fun your children can have. Open the front door, let in some bugs, catch the bugs, release the bugs. Over and over again. Better still, leave the bugs in the catcher and give it to the cat. Your kids will watch with glee and your cat will be entertained as he/she tries to free the bugs. Now if only Malia and Sasha can get the catcher away from Dad.
50. Stan Neubert | 06.18.09
What I do, which appeals to both the macho and the compassionate, is to pick up wasps and hornets by one wing, they try to sting through the thumbnail but to no avail, and let them out. Flies I just kill because they spread germs. PETA lost all credibility when they started killing dogs.
51. Lee Simmons | 06.18.09
Obama was merely catching some fresh lunchmeat. He, like so many Americans these days, is cutting down on daily expenses. You saw him pick up the fly with a napkin and he took it with him to snack on off-camera. Good man! If he hadn’t been on camera, you might have seen his special trick of catching flies with his tongue.
52. Zman | 06.18.09
@Marcos El Mal,
I totally agree with you, they are not different from any fundamentalists.
This is the best article I ever read about PEAT:
“Heroic PETA Commandos Kill 49, Save Rabbit”
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/39180
Though it’s a joke from The Onion. It exactly describes their attitude.
Flies carry all kinds of diseases and it’s not “for fun” that entire governments fight flies with all kinds of methods and plans.
PETA are losing their support with such ridiculous attitude.
53. P. Stewart | 06.18.09
Catch and release disease carrying flys? What ever credibility PETA might have had is certainly squandered with this extreme silliness.
54. QM | 06.18.09
Oh right. The hypocritical PETA. Weren’t they the ones busted for killing thousands of dogs and cats at their no kill shelters last year, but now they have the absolute GALL to say killing is inhumane. What a bunch of losers.
55. dan l | 06.18.09
Confession time: I am sad to report that I committed murder thousands of times today. It started at shower time, when I used an anti-bacterial soap and murdered all those innocent tiny bacteria-thingy creatures. Then, attempting to avoid disturbing a wasps nest so that they may live in a peaceful coexistence with me and mine, I stepped on some of my dear ant friends, not to mention a worm, a beetle, a few earwigs, a millipede and some small little buggers that I couldn’t identify. I cannot say how many souls were lost when I attended to an itch on my shoulder, but it may have been hundreds. The last slaughter took place when I sneezed in a selfish attempt to evict whatever tiny creatures had set up in my nose. Please, PETA people, forgive me and don’t picket my house.
56. janet | 06.18.09
How much pollution does it cause to manufacture, ship and stock those stupid bug catchers?
57. Patricia Brown | 06.18.09
I guess that means that we shouldn’t use flea sprays or dips to help keep the poor little fleas from consuming our dogs and cats. We should rather grab the little suckers, one by one, and humanely let them go outside - in our yards - where they come from in the first place. Makes perfect sense to me…..NOT!!
59. tmartind | 06.18.09
The Fly was attacking our commander and chief… Where was the secret service?
60. youhavegottobekidding | 06.18.09
To Ron.. YES I am pretty sure you are “the only one who thinks this scene was staged” but you aren’t the only idiot to ignore the fact that Obama’s mother was an American citizen when Barack was born which would make him a citizen of the US no matter where he was actually born.
But if there are more people like you who think that someone actually thought this up and staged it just to make Pres. Obama look good please let me know where you live so I can avoid drinking the water there because it must be halucenigenic.
61. Stan | 06.18.09
Obama should have never murdered this poor innocent fly. He should have resorted to water-boarding it to find out where all the other flies are that have it their sole intention to infiltrate and destroy this great country. This never would have happened with Bush, Cheney, Rush, Sarah had been in charge of our defense apparatuses!!!
63. Erin | 06.18.09
Are you serious? PETA is nuts!!! They all better stop driving cars. Think of how many bugs you kill when they hit your windshield and for that matter they better stop walking down the street. Think of how many innocent bugs you might step on. Flies land on ****. You bet I’am gonna smack them around.
65. This is getting old | 06.18.09
In all honesty we just need to put PETA to sleep. Its an ethical way to dispose of such an errant group.
66. Michael | 06.18.09
Not that I had any respect for PETA before…but really - they have lost ALL credibility on this one. Boneheads!
67. Sweetness N. Light | 06.18.09
At this moment I’m listening to a top PETA spokesman on the Mark Levin Show. Levin’s got him spinning like a top. The guy is a PETA spokesman who eeven ate at a burger joint this week …and the parade of clowns marches on!
68. Mark | 06.18.09
Tonight I spilled a little beer on the deck and flies began to come from nowhere.I grabbed the fly swatter and I must have killed at least 10 flies.
According to PETA I must fall into the class of a mass murderer. The next thing you know PETA will be asking for a closing of all fly swatter companies in the world.I wonder if my fly swatter falls into my 2nd Amendment rights as a
weapon.Got Ya PETA.
70. Curious | 06.18.09
I have a question…. Do PETA members drive cars?
What about the poor, defenseless bugs, numbered in the 100s of millions I’d presume, that are killed by windshields and grills each year? Are these bugs suicide bombers, and thus exercising their free will and relieving PETA or anyone else of any responsibility, or is it more likely that those PETA members who drive cars, are actually mass murderers themselves??
After all, PETA members, it is your CHOICE to operate a motor vehicle, and
thus, you are willfully and without a shred of compassion, contributing to the massive slaughter of bugs. SHAME on PETA…shame!!!
71. lippy | 06.18.09
you know what, im a hunter and i love vegitarians… they are delicious. but really, there is such a thing as picking your battles, i truly belive that peta brought themselvs a lot of bad PR by starting the whole thing. but thats just my .02
72. Lupinmystic | 06.19.09
ok, so does this mean that the people at PETA don’t give their pets heart worm medicine, etc to protect them, cause that would kill those worms that seem to have a place to them. Even though those worms will cause their pets to die a horrible death. I guarantee they give them all the meds that we all do and in turn kill “pests” everyday. LOL this is so absurd..u have to draw a line somewhere. And last I checked a fly is not an Animal. I’m not for everyone going out and killing every bug they find. I happen to love insects, but come on people this is crossing the line and gone straight into the absurd. I thought PETA had lost their minds when they wanted Ben and Jerry’s to make their ice cream out of human milk(and yes to those that didn’t know about this, they did and were serious), but now I think they are just insane
73. tropical | 06.19.09
PETA is planning on picketing the national Vet conference in Seattle this week because the Doctors are going to have the fish mongers from the Pike Place Market demonstrate their skills in throwing dead Salmon. I think the logic is that dead fish have feelings too. The problem with this group is that they, like the ELF, are totally irrational and dangerous. I vote that they get outlawed soon as a terrorist group. They need to do some real volunteer work and help the world instead of wasting our time with their certifiably insane press releases!
74. Veronika | 06.19.09
PETA is a cult organization. They, like animal “rightists”, do not separate the value of human life from that of lower animals (Ingrid Newkirk:”A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy”). I think that most of these people consider animals, including flies, to be superior to humans, or of greater value to the ecosphere. Please don’t give your hard-earned cash to these whackos.
75. RH | 06.19.09
I think instead of killing the fly we should water board it and see what the fly’s intentions were.
77. PETA is PETTY | 06.19.09
Seems like the folks at PETA have become so full of themselves that they can’t even think straight. While I can think of few nobler causes than advocating ethical consideration for all life, PETA’s trite grabs at publicity are now just an irritating and non-productive distraction from what was at one time a worthy endeavor.
78. Presswatcher | 06.19.09
The people who love to spew hatred disgrace themselves without anyone’s help, but for all those out there who want actual facts, you might find it amazing to read the real story from the horse’s mouth at peta.org on the blog the story above references. PETA did not comment until the press HOUNDED them, and then they said, basically, “Obama’s human, let it be.” Then, talk shows asked them to go on, and they used the forum to talk about the USDA’s killing of “pests,” beavers, crows, starlings, coyotes with poison and so on, the fact that if you have ants in your home you can certainly remove them without hurting them, and the dangers of chemical pesticides to humans and animals. I thought it was terrific.
79. PETASucks | 06.19.09
I think PETA should put their money where their fly is…send one of these devices to every household in America. Only then will we be able take what they are doing seriously. Sending one to the President is nothing more than a show of disrespect and amplifies what good PETA really is…that is…NOTHING. Cmon, too cheap to do it? Don’t have the funds? Raise the money! Plenty of stupid people out there just waiting to support a “cause”!
80. M Garrett | 06.19.09
Why does this deserve publicity….the killing of the fly or PETA’s reactions?
81. Bruce A. Hollar | 06.19.09
Peta is a very stupid group with very stupid goals. It seems as if they are out to eradicate the human race and give the ants, roaches, spiders, and let’s not forget the flies a free dominion on this earth. Does ANYONE with a brain support this group? I THINK NOT! Maybe they should try rediverting their lunacy toward a REAL goal like stopping global warming through supporting alternative sources of energy. No, wait; that would be too logical. Second thought=these people are worthless and a waste of ATP. Why don’t we just work on eradicating them!
82. Bob | 06.19.09
Now you know were all your funds are going, to keep abunch of moroons on the payroll who intern waste your hard earned dollars investigating what people do to disease ridden flys.
83. Josh | 06.19.09
This is honestly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. People need to find better things to do with their time than worry about the president killing a fly. I agree with the many people on CSMonitor.com that say that the people that think this stuff up really are a bunch of idiots with crackpot rules.
84. Soon to be former US citizen | 06.19.09
I need to find a country that’s not run by buffoons embroiled in trivial controversies driven by crack smokin (instead of eating meat) lunatics! OMG think of those poor defenceless plants they eat! They’re made up of cells too, their DNA guides their progress in life, albeit ‘cut’ short in favor of a salad…
So eat your lentils while your leaders flush what’s left of what once was a great country down the toilet. At least some poor defenceless plant will get some nourishment from all the BS.
85. Rebecca | 06.19.09
I think the this is just the press having a joke at President Obama. Considering how rediculous it is, I think the joke is on them as well!
86. tayyaba Beg | 06.19.09
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I agree with every one above, People need to find better things to do with their time than worry about the president killing a fly. People are dying here and only thing you care that stupid fly. Have free time then come and find a cure for my 3 beautiful little girls dying with MPS. Help me change diapers to my 4 special needs children. Or find me some help.
88. Charles | 06.21.09
I believe PETA has nothing else to do. A pesty housefly that anyone may kill
becomes an issue against the Presient. Why not go and complain to Sarah Palin
in regards to killing a moose and moose soup. A moose is a million or more times as large as a fricken housefly. PETA does not have anything else to whine about. Ridiculous!
89. Charles | 06.21.09
PETA needs to be informed that there are more important issues to discuss rather than someone killing a pesty housefly. It just appears to me that they only want to be heard. Once in a while I get a couple of houseflies in
my house and I either swat them or spray them because flies leaves germs all
about in places in your home and on your body. So what is the big issue with
PETA who claims their love care for animals. This isssue should have never been an issue.

I wonder what the fly’s comments are on this. Maybe we should jump into our handy dandy time machine and request an interview, or perhaps we could get someone to exhume the body and attempt to contact the spirit of this poor defenseless fly to see what it’s thoughts were just prior to death. Considering that the average lifespan of a fly is only 12-36 hours depending on your source, maybe this was a mercy killing. Jeeze, what a waste of time, isn’t there something that can occupy PETA’s and the rest of our time that is slightly more worthwhile? By the way has anyone contacted this fly’s family to offer a monetary reimbursement for the horrible treatment it received from the American president?

I stopped supporting Peta a while ago after I heard of the killing incidents in their shelters. Thankfully, after this report I have convinced my wife and daughter to stop supporting them too. I would though, not recommend this to anyone, since my wife has recently started eyeing some nice fur coats. o_0

How can PETA care about a housefly when they have supported killing pit-bull type dogs with no regard to their temperament or adoptability? PETA does not support the ethical treatment of animals.
