Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck appeared to senselessly murder an innocent frog yesterday while making a point about opposition to President Obama's programs.

Glenn Beck boils cute little frog to death — or did he?

By Jimmy Orr | 09.24.09

*** UPDATE 11:15am ***

Some readers have thrown down the red flag on this blog post. They’re challenging the call. “Glenn Beck said it was a fake frog,” they say.

We did reference that in the original blog post. But now we have indisputable proof from another “angle.” Another video has emerged. So, we reverse the calling on the field based on the new video (which we posted below).

Beck says it was a fake frog and we’ll buy it. We still find the whole thing confusing. No timeouts have been assessed.

By the way, Ed Hochuli was not in the replay booth.

***

PETA is going to go berzerk… Maybe…

Conservative commentator Glenn Beck was trying to illustrate a point on his TV show yesterday, but it really didn’t work out — for his point or for the poor little prop.

That’s what it looked like anyway. But the whole thing really is confusing. We concur with the LA Times’ Andy Malcolm — “we’re not sure we fully understand” his stunt.

Beck likened the conservative uproar to Obama’s initiatives to frogs who are thrown into boiling water. The experience is so shocking that the frogs jump out. It’s too much, too fast, he says. And the frogs (conservatives) ain’t takin’ it.

If the water was cooler, he says, and it gradually heats up to a boil, the frogs would be toast because they wouldn’t know what’s going on.

So we get the analogy. It doesn’t quite work, but we know where he’s going.

FAIL

The problem is, his experiment appeared to fail.

Beck had a pot of boiling water on his stage as well as a container of cute, little, jumpy frogs. He appeared to grab an unlucky one to begin the lesson.

“Barack Obama has galvanized the country because of the sheer size of the bills he has proposed and the number of bills and the urgency that he’s placing on the bill,” he said.

“He has forced us to think and get involved,” he continued. “We have not, like John McCain, been boiled slowly. We have been tossed quickly into boiling water… and what happens when you throw them in, when you throw them in, frogs into boiling water?”

Like Julia Child flicking in some paprika onto a delightful omelette, Beck tossed the little frog into the water.

Ooooops

The problem is, the frog stayed put.

“OK, forget the frog,” he says. “I swear I thought they’d jump right out.”

So, did we witness the senseless murder of an innocent frog? We don’t know. We never saw the actual frog enter the water.

And at the end of the segment he said, “Forget about the Republicans, because most of them are fake. Forget about the Democrats, because most of them are fake.”

The Huffington Post writes that he concluded the segment by saying, “And forget about the frog, because it was fake!” (But that’s not on the video. So who knows?)

Upset

Regardless, he’s upset a lot of people. One writer over at Little Green Footballs writes, “But even if it was a stunt, and no frog was killed … this is still amazingly sick. This show airs at a time in the early afternoon when children are watching.”

Children are watching Glenn Beck? Where?

Regardless, it’s doubtful that the controversy has much [frog] legs. Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles will offer him a contract…

We posted the updated video below.

This article is a deliberate misrepresentation of what happened-when do we call a lie a lie- like a spade a spade???

Glenn demonstrated, and had his guest who was waiting just off stage to come on just moments later and certify that a switch had taken place, deliberately to replace the supposed live frog with a plastic- to which John Bolton (Former Ambassador to the UN) backed up and said it was indeed a plastic frog.

Glenn is a most effective communicator. He knew exactly what he was doing and he wanted to make an impression on the viewer that he would never forget- the analogy of the frog and the way the water temperature is raised between John McCain and Obama. And he is right. McCain is a progressive but would have moved us towards liberalism more slowly- by attrition that would not have done as much to get the masses upset along the way as Obama- and raise the conciousness of the masses.

2. Keith | 09.24.09

These are the same people who believe that Glenn Beck killed a puppy and broadcast a live abortion on the radio. It’s dark comedy to make a point. Did you know that there was a family who carted their dead grandpa across the country so that the granddaughter could perform in a beauty pageant? Where’s the Christian Science Monitor article on that? It’s called Little Miss Sunshine - dark comedy, it’s fake - not real!

3. ohpuhleeze | 09.24.09

You have got to be kidding me!!

With all that is going on, this is what you and the HuffPo have to talk about? And…conveniently…the video doesn’t show the entire piece.

Maybe you all need to look at the entire segment, dig deep into the recesses of those folds in your gray matter and try to discover the point of what Mr. Beck was trying to portray (and may I say cleverly proved as shown by the comments from you and all the other so-called “media”!)

4. Common sense | 09.24.09

This is hilarious, by actualy writing a story about Glen boiling a frog, you prove his point! You, along with the rest of the media and america are the frog in the boiling water, however you are sitting in the water boiling to death because you lack the intelligence to see what is right in front of you: you didn’t watch the rest of the show and see it was fake frog. Since the media is so efficient at NOT saying the whole story, you have proven his point! Thank you for your lack of effort and intelligence!

5. Rachel M Hervey PHN | 09.24.09

If Glenn Beck had used a plastic frog he would have made sure (with all the technology we have, now) that it, It deed, would be able to jump out of the water ! You goofed, Glenn, and I think many of your ideas need to be boiled. I think you killed the poor innocent little frog and aren’t you PROUD of your leadership, especially, to children ? It goes to show us that our country is in need of EDUCATION ! Sincerely,

6. Dale Rice | 09.24.09

I say …… Glen Beck has all of the American peoples best interests at heart. And likely wouldn’t ” hurt a fly”. …. I recall an incident when a real fly was ‘assaulted’ on a. TV Program right in the middle of an interview …..

Glen has my respect and gratitude for focusing attention on major issues that affect my
children’s and grandchildrens’ civil rights and protections under the US Constitution ….

Whatever “demonstration” will bring him more attention is favorable. He is an impressive and colorful figure to watch and listen to as well

7. Mike Webb | 09.24.09

The CS Monitor did not properly investigate, i.e., watch the whole show or segment, to verify this story. Have your reporters/writers become lazy? We expect more from the Monitor.

Glenn Beck made his point, but it’s only his point of view. It’s time President Obama and all members of congress could be more forthcoming with specific details about all their proposals, programs and policies, not the “trust me, I know what is best for you” sound bite. Now the “false choice” we heard about in the campaign is now coming true at the White House.

8. David Hiles | 09.24.09

Glen asked former Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton if the frog was plastic. The ambassador replied yes.
Unless you have evidence that Ambassador John Bolten is a liar like too many current serving us in DC (Den of Corruption) I believe John.

9. RB in PA | 09.24.09

I’m not sure this was a deliberate misrepresentation but it, none the less, clearly points to a lack of standards and discipline on the part of the Christian Science Monitor editorial staff. I hope this blog is as “tongue-in cheek” as Glenn’s demonstration was.

It is a shame that the ‘New Media’ now uses YouTube as the sole, authoritative source for an article (even if it it is only a blog). It seems as though things that are being passed off as fact are being conceived and written by reporters in their underwear who do not seek the full story before forming an opinion.

Oops, I forgot, in the ‘New Media’ opinions are formed first and then “information” is then crafted to support it. Then of course, they can find a source of outrage in their own “facts”. To say “So, did we witness the senseless murder of an innocent frog? We don’t know.” is an indictment of their level of interest in the facts.

If nothing else, it is entertaining to see these people “at work”…even if it is in their underwear.

10. Wendy Horn | 09.24.09

It is laughable that some people don’t get the humor of Glen Beck. I for one find him very funny. I don’t agree with everything he says, but I do see the humor in what he says (but you do have to have a sense of humor to begin with). I do know people that would not get it and for them they should turn the channel. That is what is great about our exisiting America, is that you have the right to watch and say what you feel is your style. If you don’t like something why would you watch it. I would not go to an Acorn rally, nor am I going to go just to tell them I don’t approve of their morals. I just don’t support them, if you are morally empty you can go and support them because it is your right, but if you don’t wake up soon you won’t have that right to your own choices. The government will make those decisions because you are not bright enough to make them or it is not their view. Wake up people!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11. Spencer | 09.24.09

This analogy makes perfect sense to me. Maybe you need to watch it again. Obama’s policies are very alarming to real frogs like me. I’m noticing, and I’m jumping out.

12. Chuck | 09.24.09

We love Glenn Beck - our only source of real truth - he was sent by God.
We love him, we love him, we love him. period.

13. Xander Crews | 09.24.09

Glenn Beck was generally surprised and slightly shaken up when that frog didn’t jump out.

The fact that it didn’t jump out ruined his entire point. Therefore why would he use a plastic frog? Lets face it, that man came out and said that to cover up the fact that he accidentally killed a frog on live tv.

14. Emily | 09.24.09

I don’t get the stunt.

I don’t know the temperature of the water. Since I’m not a frog I don’t know when I would jump out. Since I’m not a plastic frog I don’t know what I would do as a plastic frog.

I’m a human being who says UGH.

If this article is all a lie why are not all the articles which do not understand the stunt purporting lies?

15. Keith Mason | 09.24.09

Thank you. The Monitor has been responsible in issuing an update. I wish it had acted more responsibly by doing its research before printing the story. It makes the Monitor appear to be biased and petty when they rush a story without due diligence. Take the higher road and bring back good investigative reporting. Your circulation will grow and your reputation will be held in high regard.

16. Zomar | 09.24.09

Regardless of whether the frog was real or plastic, the point is that Glenn Beck is one sick puppy. He WANTED us to believe that he had just thrown a live frog into boiling water. This says a lot about Beck and his frothing-at-the-mouth fans.

17. Brutal | 09.24.09

Common sense - something sadly lacking in this country. If you throw a small frog with sensitive skin into a pot of boiling water, it’s not going to survive. Even if it does manage to jump out, it’s skin is scalded and the poor frog will die. Glen Beck is a keeps the far right entertained and is always going for the ratings. This was too far… so much for compassionate conservatism.

18. Garrick Brown | 09.24.09

COme on… The whole point of his “point” was to show the frog jumping out of the hot water. So it is asinine to think that he would ruin his own point by throwing in a plastic frog that obviously would not demonstrate his point. The plastic frog story is just an after the fact lie. Not only is Glenn Beck cruel, but he is a boldface liar as well. All of you Beckites who can’t see the pure logic here need to quit drinking the Kool Aid.

19. Kenneth | 09.24.09

Hmmm . All is relative . What to believe . Who to believe .
I don t think anyone should boil a frog . An analogy is alright because in this world all is not politically correct and proper. I ve been thrown into boiling water and I m a frog so I can attest to that . As I didn t know of Mr. Beck I will definitely listen to Mr. Beck now .

20. ohpuhleeze | 09.24.09

Okay, okay…I’m laughing myself out of my chair!

I only want to say that for those commentors who honestly think a live frog was thrown into a boiling pot — Glenn Beck’s recent book was written about and dedicated to you! You should feel honored ;)
And now, all levity aside, I will seriously and somberly pray for you and for our great country. If you are one of the folks reading this who “get it”, please pray–pray like you have never prayed before.

21. Carolyn Hopper | 09.24.09

A waste of time, a waste of brain cells a colossal waste all around. And
pandering to Glenn Beck ? Please don’t waste anyone’s time any more.
Name calling, whining, stunts - when is this country ever going to grow up?
Mr. Beck is not the least bit funny. Sick jokes need to be kept off the air and out of the news. Perhaps we could boil him in water - just kidding

22. galium | 09.24.09

Did the frog have “FED” written on its chest?

23. happyfloridian | 09.24.09

wow, you all, are you so blinded by your ideology that you don’t believe what you see with your own eyes any more? play the video clip from 0:57 to 1:06..container full of jumpy and very-much alive frogs. water is also boiling, there’s steam coming out of the pot. and Beck throws the frog in. now, that’s some classy journalism.
the only fake thing on the show is him.

24. whackadoo | 09.24.09

Regardless of what actually happened, if you need to pretend or not pretend to throw a frog in boiling water to make your point, you are obviously operating on the fringe of sanity. Beck a few months back poured “gasoline” (water) on a volunteer and held a lit match over him to make a similar point. Beck is not about informing people. He is about appealing to fear and rage in a desparate attempt to advance his, and Fox’s extreme right wing agenda and oppose President Obama and the Democrats with anything they can find or make up. When watching an op/ed on Fox, one needs to ask oneself, “Did I just learn something, or was I just manipulated through emotion?” The fringe right is fond of calling up ghosts of nazi tactics. Read up on the manipulation of emotion as a tactic of nazi propaganda after a 10 minute hate session with Beck.

25. LOL LOL Jeremy | 09.24.09

Hello People (especially CSM reporters). Prior to his next guest (former UN Ambassador Michael Bolton) coming out, Glenn informed viewers they had researched the fable and it was false (they knew before hand that a real frog, or a plastic frog wouldn’t jump out). So no, the frog’s failure to jump out did not backfire, it was a comedic prop and that is the extent of it. Glenn’s point, was in line with the old wives tale however. John McCain would slowly bring us to a boil, while Obama is boiling us and we want out ASAP.

26. bdw | 09.24.09

You wacko’s should watch the whole video. Kudo’s for the update, But it just shows how much you are reaching! for anything. I garantee that most of you that are commenting and thinking that Glenn cooked a “real” frog have not see the entire Clip.. I was laughing at his little Skit, He did a good Performance.. He did a good job, he was funny. But even he knew that that was an old “wives tale” and that if you threw a frog in boiling water that it wouldn’t jump out.. He said it on the show.. He even said that you guys would be all over him for it.. Get over it! it was a skit.. Probably for ratings.. but it was also an excellent way to make his point.. I like most of what Glenn Beck says and you guys are just reaching for anything to attack him with!

27. Doug | 09.24.09

Glen, you are mentally disturbed and in need of help!

Glen, why don’t you get a rattle snake, and if it bites, you are not a true Conservative…

28. Ted | 09.24.09

Most people seem to be missing the point. The water probably wasn’t even hot, nevermind boiling. The point is that some people believe that a frog tossed into boiling water would jump out, therefore if we (Americans) were subjected to very bad things, we like the frog, would quickly remove ourselves from the danger. Well, a frog doesn’t jump out, it boils and if we allow Obama to continue, we won’t jump out either, we will die in the pot of boiling water that Obama has steeped and is tossing us into.

29. dashiel | 09.24.09

somewhat amusing that glen would talk about “fake democrats” and “fake republicans” after throwing a fake frog in to “boiling” water. the only difference between glen and stephen colbert is colbert lets you in on the joke. both do what they do for two reasons: entertainment and money, glen is laughing all the way to the bank at the liberals who get outraged over his buffoonery and the conservatives who believe it.

30. Janet | 09.24.09

Good thing I actually watched the entire show so I know not to believe this misrepresentation of the skit. Many of the other comments have done a good job pointing out the true point that was being made. Liberals always think they are so much smarter than the common citizens and yet they say “we’re not sure we fully understand” his stunt.” PLEASE! Give me a break! A five year old could understand it! It’s a common fable. The CSM’s reporting on this prooves what Beck has been saying that the media is not just bias it is corrupt to the core. Now we know the CSM has aligned itself with the far left and will stand in that place even if they have to lie to do it.

31. Tom Kidd | 09.24.09

Glenn Beck will do or say anything to get people to like him, so this is merely a publicity stunt. There are two dangers: that his weak-minded viewers will try to duplicate the sadistic stunt and that, in the search for still bigger ratings, Beck will have to ratchet up the cruelty of his stunts. What’s next? Killing a puppy? A person? Nancy Pelosi? He’s a very sick man who deserves our pitty — but not our attention.

32. LisaMD | 09.24.09

I got it-I’m sorry if it was too deep for you! I don’t agree with Beck on everything but he sure got the media on this one- and his point was very well made! No Fail-Big Win!!

33. Holly | 09.24.09

Wow, I think you should all just listen to yourselves for a minute. If you’re on the “right” and love Glen Beck, he can do no wrong and those are the “left” are too stupid to know what is going on. Clearly the people on the right know what’s actually best.

If you’re on the “left” you seem just as happy if Glen Beck himself would boil in water or get bitten by a snake.

To me, forget Glen Beck, who yes, if you love him or not, you should admit this was an odd, if not dangerous stunt (at least to the frog, plastic or no). Forget the media we all seem to love to hate no matter what they are reporting on. Let’s TALK to each other, not rant at each other. Let’s not make fun of each other all the while knowing we’re right and the other side is wrong (and stupid).

The problem with America today isn’t Glen Beck or Obama or McCain or any other ONE person, it’s that we have chosen to argue uselessly over having sincere dialog. We have chosen to call each other names over trying to find policy solutions that make sense. We have decided our view of America is correct and the **** with the other side. We have decided we are the real Americans and all those who disagree with us are not. We have stopped seeing our fellow Americans as fellow human beings worthy of respect and compassion unless they agree with everything we say. We pray to God not to create a world of peace and justice, but to smite our enemies.

I am saddened, but not just by Glen Beck, our politicians, and the media, but by the general tone of comments on this article. We will NEVER go anywhere as a country unless we stop screaming at one another, forcing our views on others, and start listening and talking to each other with respect.

34. nuffer | 09.24.09

you got to be kidding me. They are worried about rubber frogs, how about all the slicing & dicing of young teamagers on movies such as Halloween 2. Come on Get a life, Glenn did it to make a point.

35. Ambassador AND singer | 09.24.09

Comment No. 25 prompts me to correct the record. Michael Bolton isn’t only one of our greatest former ambassadors. He is also a chart-topping easy listening singer. I bet he writes a song about what really happened with the frog and the pot of water.

36. PAUL B TOWSON | 09.24.09

This is insane. Where’s the uproar over putting lobsters into boiling water, or steaming live crabs. I’ve done both, so arrest me.

37. Dave K | 09.24.09

Maybe he should have used a member of PETA or ACORN instead of the rubber frog!!

38. rudya | 09.24.09

THOSE FROGS WERE MOVING! They were live frogs.

Also would he do something like that on the air if he didn;t “think” they would do as he expected them to?

Typical “mean Republican”. Cares only about himself not about other people or animals. Anything is justified. A fine example of “the end justifies the means”.

39. Tom Williams | 09.24.09

If you do a frame by frame analysis, Glen Beck never threw a frog in the pot.

Do your homework!

40. Mike Austin,TX | 09.24.09

Glenn used the same expression I use all the time. CSM shows it is just like the so-called media. All indignation and no facts. In my opinion BHO is the best thing to happen to this Country in many years. It will take a long time to undo the damage he is trying to inflict but this is exactly what America needs to come out fighting(figuratively, not literally..yet)The sleeping giant is awake again. No more silent majority!

41. Pete | 09.24.09

“We love Glenn Beck - our only source of real truth - he was sent by God.
We love him, we love him, we love him. period.” Sent by God??? Wow.

42. Mr Grumpy | 09.24.09

The frog stayed in the water just to get away from Beck. Frogicide is not pretty.

43. Bob | 09.24.09

Who cares? Does everyone who is upset not know where dinner comes from? How those animals die? If not, you should know. What about the plant you eat? They are killed too! Everything dies eventually. Some of it gets eaten too.

44. Mike Austin,TX | 09.24.09

Holly seems to think this “stunt” was somehow dangerous. She is part of what is wrong with America. Remember Holly, we only have 2 cheeks. That is all we will allow to be turned.

45. Dani | 09.24.09

I just don’t get the analogy. I have heard the story of the frog before. I understood it to mean that people should be aware of gradually developing dangers and respond appropriately. Remember, according to the story, the frog in the pot that slowly heats up dies while the frog tossed in the boiling water survives.

Beck likened a McCain presidency to the situation where the frog gets boiled to death because it does not realize the danger of the gradually increasing water temperature and the Obama presidency to the situation where the frog survives because it jumps out of the water.

I am not saying I agree or disagree with his point of view, it is just that he would make more sense to me stated the other way.

As for the frog being fake or real, I believe it was real. The demonstration doesn’t make sense with a fake frog.

46. R.R. | 09.24.09

When you want to make a point even the most daft among us can understand you have to use hyperbole.

Beck was just speaking to his audience.

47. Karen | 09.24.09

At last….Holly someone with sense.

48. Bluangel | 09.24.09

Whether or not Glenn Beck used a “fake” frog to prove his point, whatever that was, it was a very repulsive demonstration to say the least. All of you who are fans of this man, and believing whatever comes out of his mouth as gospel, are being led down a path, like sheep to the slaughter. I feel sad for you. Glenn Beck’s stunts eventually are going to cause someone physical harm, let alone a poor frog. Some of the things that have been said by FOX News anchors and some of our politicians on the right already have. Bill O’Reilly’s “Killer Tiller” and Michelle Bachman’s tirade about census workers are perfect examples. A census worker was just murdered in West Virginia recently! Fox News is not the be all/end all to the information that is available to you. Why don’t you just try to listen to another point of view for a change, read a newspaper or two, talk to someone on the other side logically, and with an open mind? You might find that we all have more in common that not.

49. Robert Morrow | 09.24.09

Enjoy the Glen Beck informative hour. Of course, I have not trusted the fringe media for 40 years. I approach it this way. I am very skeptical of anything I read, suspicious of what I hear and believe only half of what I see. Now this includes too all the Government elected officals which have sold the people down the river. Keep up the good work and exposing them. R. Morrow

50. Jack | 09.24.09

I think the most significant take-away from this is not that there was, or was not, or might have been, a live frog boiled, but rather that the former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations followed a fake frog on a talk show. John Bolton, call your agent!

51. TEESEE | 09.24.09

Speaking of Americans being boiled alive, did you know the Dems just voted not to allow the Health Care bill to be on line for 72 hours before they voted on it, so the American people could read it? They sad they will put portions of it only and Kerry said it would be too difficult for the average person to understand. Get mad about that average American. Get mad about that media.

52. travis | 09.24.09

I’m a liberal. I agree with 25-30% of what Beck says (usually). Not a lot, but I feel he dedicates too much of his time to justifying a side of politics. And I also don’t feel he believes half of what he says (he certainly downplayed a lot of his stances with his Katie Couric interview this week!).

But I don’t think there is anything here. It’s obvious he didn’t have a frog, unless on jumped on his palm and stayed there why he slowly closed his hand. I doubt it.

And if the frog did die, well then: survival of the fittest!

53. John | 09.24.09

I do not understand Glenn Beck’s appeal. The last time I tried watching him, he was trying to convince his viewers that a Rockefeller Center office building erected sometime in the 1930s contained artwork that depicted a communist takeover of the United States by the Obama administration. He just seems to just spout gibberish with a tone of self-righteous indignation, and he is so inarticulate that at times it’s impossible to understand what his point is or if he even has one. People would be just as well-served listening to a schizophrenic rant on a street corner.

54. Chris B. | 09.24.09

Am I the only believer in Christ that finds Glenn Beck a little bit over the top? His constant fear mongering and way out there presentations always brings to mind the warnings Paul gave us about charismatic church leaders. I assume he used a fake frog for this story, but in general I’ll take a pass on this guy.

Since he is a Mormon I guess he has different standards than I do, but his constant fear mongering is not Christ-like in my opinion. Somehow I just imagine that if Jesus preached on TV he would spend a lot less time yelling and screaming about ACORN and “Oligarh.”

55. Salley | 09.24.09

Hey, I think we out to get an attorney for the frog’s relatives. Do we have any volunteers? I totally love PETA. (People Eating Tasty Animals.) - oops…I’m apt to be sued by the frogs attorney. I am speaking hate & malace towards our “brothers & sisters”.
Oh My Gosh. What is this awesome country coming to?

56. Bill Gatlin | 09.24.09

AHHHH COME ON!!!!!!! I knew the second Glenn did this “frog stunt” all **** was going to burst out from the “lunatic fringe” crowd. This was an illustration people!!!! If you koolaiders and liberal hatemongers can’t mentally absorb a demonstration then don’t watch the show. Evidently what it was supposed to represent went way over your heads. I mean folks who keep supporting the Obama Dynasty can’t grasp reality anyhow.

57. Bob Anderson | 09.24.09

Thank-you Holly. The only sane comment offered here.

58. ThatOneGuy | 09.24.09

I wonder if all those who are offended at the possiblity of a frog being killed will organize demonstrations in France to protest the senseless genocide of little froggies there just so their legs can be eaten…

59. TampaTony | 09.24.09

Glenn did this ingenious comparative to raise awareness knowing full well that every media outlet would pounce on it. The illistration intends to show us how easily some people get sidetracked and lose focus of what is “really” going on with our governement. He did not become the Glenn Beck we know today by boring dialogue. He makes very valid points and the delivery is very key in maintaining interest.

60. Mike | 09.24.09

Murder is the selfish killing of another human being. You can’t “murder” frogs. You can, however, murder unborn babies.

61. Eric | 09.24.09

Funny. I first heard this analogy at the missionary training center for the Mormon church (Glenn Beck’s Church). The idea behind it was that if you tell a person what the church believes right out of the gate… they’ll never believe you. If you introduce doctrine little bits at a time, the person will be more apt to believe it. As missionaries, we came to know this as ‘brainwashing the dunker”. The dunker being the individual we wanted to baptize into the church. Apparently it’s the preferred method of thinking for Republican lawmakers, too.

62. M.L.Gooch | 09.24.09

On an upcoming show, we will learn that frogs have rights now that they have joined the SEIU. Therefore, Glenn will have to water-board a salamander (held down by Bolton). A few frogs however have refused to pay dues and have gone into froggy prostitution with the help of Acorn. Talk about a “green” movement.

63. robert | 09.24.09

Does it really matter if the frog was real or not? Who pretends to boil a frog? Glenn Beck is simply mentally unstable. Crying on tv, throwing fake frogs into boiling water, calling the president a socialist and a racist. The sort of pulp stupidity that now populates cable news networks is a sign of a sickness in the heart of america. It would be funny, if there werent so many people rushing to his aide on this silly little story.

64. Peggy Koehler | 09.24.09

I agree with most of Glen Beck’s rhetoric but he should stick with the facts and skip the theatrics.

65. Robin | 09.24.09

It is obvious that he didn’t toss anything into the pot. Just watch the video stop and rewind. It is obvious.
I don’t think he would ruin his career and hurt an innocent animal.

66. Mark | 09.24.09

The idea that Glenn Beck might have traumatized young children by dropping a frog into hot water is laughable. I doubt that this hyper-sensitive child, who breaks down at watching a frog die on T.V., even exists.

First, young children know that lobsters are boiled alive, that cows are slaughtered for meat, that mousetraps kill mice — and yes, that people eat frog legs.

Second, kids see humans die realistic deaths in movies, have relatives die, and so forth — a million times more traumatizing than any frog’s death.

Third, it is not unusual for kids themselves to kill small animals like frogs. However perverse this sounds, I remember clearly that 8 to 9 year old boys at summer camp would catch frogs, poke them around with sticks and kill them. I saw others kill a squirrel. They had yet to develop a healthy respect for nature and life. The point is, this idealized notion of the “innocent child” is nonsense. Watching a televised frog disappear into a pot of boiling water would not traumatize ordinary kids.

I find it despicable when the media seize on parents’ fears for political purposes — in this case, to take down Glenn Beck.

67. Mahmoud | 09.24.09

The believability of Beck is bolstered because… JOHN BOLTON backs him up? That’s like saying Jack the Ripper must not have been such a bad guy because Charles Manson vouched for him. How do you accept a liar’s lie because another liar said it was true?

68. Bob J | 09.24.09

“commentator” - your post contains a racial slur. The term “spade” as used in “commentators” post does not refer to either shovels or cards.

Moderator - your assistance in removing the offending post is appreciated.

69. Mark from Florida | 09.24.09

Dont worry about kids watching Glenn Beck. I am a fan of the show, and find it easier to get my kids to do homework, do chores, read, take baths.. any of these they will do rather than watch GB.

70. midwicket | 09.24.09

Glenn’s viewership must be communicated to by very graphic “show and tell.” methods. Otherwise they will not be able to grasp simple arguments.

71. Virgil | 09.24.09

So? Isn’t this how you cook a lobster, anyway?

72. bruce | 09.24.09

i did not see anything actually go into the pot.

73. ATLCT | 09.24.09

LOL LOL Jeremy wrote “(former UN Ambassador Michael Bolton)”

Michael Bolton? You mean the guy who sang “When A Man Loves A Woman”. He’s an ambassador now? Haha, good for him LOL

I believe you are referring to John Bolton, former US Ambassador to the UN

74. M Gooch | 09.24.09

To Bob J. •To “call a spade a spade” is to speak honestly and directly about a topic, specifically topics that others may avoid speaking about due to their sensitivity or embarrassing nature. Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (1913)

The commentator was not referring to race.

Can I have some more whine with my Cheezy Poofs.

76. Jim in Texas | 09.24.09

As soon as Glenn paused and got the “surprised” look on his face I got the joke. No live frog went into the water. It was a “sight gag”. Johnny Carson used to do these all the time.

But for those who found the thought of a real frog being put in hot water, I ask you this…..have you ever eaten lobster or crawfish? Do you know that dropping them live into boiling water is the first step in preparing them for you?

77. PL | 09.24.09

I understand the plastic frog is suing Beck for attempted frogicide and undue emotional distress. Mr. Plastic Frog wasn’t particularly upset about being thrown into the boiling water but he did understand the analogy and it gave the poor little plastic thing nightmares.

That said, I’m disappointed in CSM for publishing the blog in the first place but they do deserve credit for the prompt retraction.

Oh, and guys, David Copperfield doesn’t really saw people in two…

78. rey | 09.24.09

@#5, Rachel M Hervey PHN “If Glenn Beck had used a plastic frog he would have made sure (with all the technology we have, now) that it, It deed, would be able to jump out of the water !”

Umm. No. Because his point was that although we think we can jump out of the water, we can’t because Obama boils us so fast there’s no time. He used a fake frog precisely so it wouldn’t jump out of the water. If he wanted it to jump out, then he would have used a real one. DUH!

79. UtopianComrade | 09.24.09

The trick was genial!
It proved that all in the fringe liberal media need to buy the “arguing with idiots” book.

80. RightWingRocker | 09.24.09

… he concluded the segment by saying, “And forget about the frog, because it was fake!” (But that’s not on the video. So who knows?) …

I was watching and I did in fact see and hear Glenn Beck not only say the frog was fake, but also take the prop out of the pot of water and show that it was in fact a rubber frog.

His point was very clear, and to miss it is as foolish as both the sudden wave of increased socialism that’s forcing us to jump out of the pot and the previously slow onset of socialism that was killing us more slowly.

It’s time to roll back socialism and get back to the ideals of the Founding Fathers. Hopefully it’s not too late.

Sincerely,”

Rachel-PHN,
You are right, education IS important and YOU need to get one.
Had you watched the show or even read the article you would know that Glenn had a point he was getting to. KNOWING that audience would not be listening to him because they would be too busy wondering if the frog was real or not he said, “Don’t worry about the frog because the frog is fake.”
Furthermore; had you watched the show, you would have caught him when he said (paraphrased,) “Before we did this demonstration we checked and knew that a frog wouldn’t really jump out.” Because the boiling water would likely cause a shock to the nervous system and kill the frog. I duuno. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiling_frog

82. Rocky | 09.24.09

Jeeeehosaphat!!!

You people and your lack of initiative. Do you really believe everything that you see on TV? You hate Glenn, you hate John Bolton and may I ask why? Because they have been painted as liars and con-men by the very media that fooled you in the beginning and continues to fool you now. If you saw the show you would understand from the use of a video of Glenn reaching into a box of frogs then cutting back to Glenn with a fake frog moving away from the box of frogs, it appeared he had a real frog. If our media really did their homework themselves and not copied someone else’s article they would have seen not only the humor of the stunt, but the relevance to whats going on in America today. For the sake of all thats holy, and for this nation that I love so much, PUT ASIDE ALL YOUR DEPENDENCE ON THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA AND ALL THAT THEY HAVE PUT IN YOUR MINDS OVER THE YEARS. Do not hate because they tell you to hate. Look into it yourself and decide for yourself. You may have seen the video of a man in a crowd that had a couple of guns on him at what I think was a tea party even, and that video was played over and over of this man bearing arms and was portrayed as a white guy radical, but what you don’t see is when the camera pan’s all the way back the gun owner was a black man, and yet the main stream media portrays it one way and people obediently gobble it up as truth. Shame on them and shame on us for believing.

83. Ray | 09.24.09

When my wife and I watched this segment on television, I immediately laughed and told her that the frog “incident” with a plastic frog would cause the goofey fringe blogs and media to raise a hue and cry. Bingo!

It is Glenn Beck they object to, not some silly stunt to help make a point. He is one of a small few who shine the light onto the cockroaches. Some folks out there in La-La Land need badly to get a real life. Rome is burning, folks and they complain about the air quality.

84. Eric | 09.24.09

“Glenn Beck was generally surprised and slightly shaken up when that frog didn’t jump out.

The fact that it didn’t jump out ruined his entire point. Therefore why would he use a plastic frog? Lets face it, that man came out and said that to cover up the fact that he accidentally killed a frog on live tv.”

It was a sarcastic remark. I don’t know if it has it on the video (I really doubt it) but I actually watched it… he says that it is a myth about frogs and he already knew that.

85. Cody | 09.24.09

Glenn Beck says that frogs will jump out of boiling water immediately. He compares this to Americans revolting against Obama’s “too hot, too much” policies. He will prove this point (the latter one) by throwing a frog into boiling water. Because FROGS JUMP OUT OF BOILING WATER, his point about the current US government is true.

See, this is what was supposed to happen. Does anybody see any holes in the logic here?

86. ohpuhleeze | 09.24.09

To post #70 Bob — To “call a spade a spade” is to speak honestly and directly about a topic, specifically topics that others may avoid speaking about due to their sensitivity or embarrassing nature. Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (1913) defines it as: “To be outspoken, blunt, even to the point of rudeness; to call things by their proper names without any “beating about the bush”.”

The Oxford English Dictionary records a more forceful variant, “to call a spade a bloody shovel”, attested since 1919.

The phrase predates the use of the word “spade” as an ethnic slur against African-Americans, which was not recorded until 1928; however, in contemporary U.S. society, the idiom is often avoided due to potential confusion with the slur.

May I ask if you perceive a racial slur in every idiom? I believe the new term for those who cry “wolf” (or racist, in this case) is a “racer”. Even President Obama, by his own admission, is not prone to seeking a racial slur in every utterance.

Do you not realize that by seeking some ulterior racist underlying in every comment will in effect lessen the importance of those who truly are racist and make racist comments?

87. Mike M. | 09.24.09

Bob J,

Sigh. The idiom, “call a spade a spade” has nothing whatsoever to do with race or ethnicity.

See: http://www.randomhouse.com/wotd/index.pperl?date=19970115

There are enough problems with bigotry in this world without inventing new ones. Please stop assuming racism where none exists.

88. Jason J | 09.24.09

For those who think that his whole analogy was ruined by the frog not actually jumping out of the water: it’s still a relevant point — there are still millions of people who are STILL staying in the water, and those are the people who he is still trying to reach (those who “get it” have already jumped out of the water).

and to Bob J — now you’re just going out of your way to invent racism; even when it isn’t there. get over yourself.

89. Timmer | 09.24.09

If his point was that frogs will jump out of boiling water, doesn’t it defeat the purpose to throw a fake frog in the water that will not jump out?

90. dom youngross | 09.24.09

If you want to traumatize kids, watch PBS.

I watched a PBS program quite a few years back, narrated by Stacy Keach, about condors. Apparently, some in the Andes (Chile, if I remember correctly) so revere them they are an object of worship. To attract and temporarily capture a condor so they could worship and praise it, and feel ‘blessed’ by its presence, the locals would leave out a ‘fresh’ carcass. In the program, some of the locals actually felled a real live horse that they had walked out to a mountainside. One or more then wrapped a rope around the horse’s neck while one or more wrapped a rope around the horse’s back legs. Each end pulled as hard as they could and strangled the horse while it was struggling on it’s side. Then they maintained a vigil from a distance until a condor landed to scavenge on the dead horse and was entrapped by a snare. The locals were ecstatic and overjoyed, and lavished great attention on the snared condor. The PBS show had a happy ending — the locals let the condor go after a while.

So if Beck wants to really shock people en route to making a point, he need only replay footage of that horse being strangled — and equate it to the extreme new federal debt and/or ‘war of necessity’ so enthusiastically supported by so many as a means to worship, glorify, and praise president Obama — and by default, themselves.

91. BudG | 09.24.09

As if boiling a frog is the most evil thing he’s done.

92. Norman | 09.24.09

The analogy made sense to me. BTW, the frog… fake. Fake just like most people we vote in and out every two years. The people reading too much into all of this really need to take a break.

93. Bagdadjoe | 09.24.09

Hmmmm, it’s ok to boil a lobster alive….but not a rubber frog? Actually, I like frogs and would be royally p.o.’d if someone boiled one of my little critters. I watched the show and…hey, anybody ever watch Penn and Teller??? Same deal, only Glenn gets boiled when he does it. (Pretty good, huh, boiled….get it?) Are you still wasting time that you will never get back reading my assinine post? Try to start thinking…you’d already have a head start. Maybe think about how we are letting Obama steal the soul of this country…

94. Mark & Barb | 09.24.09

If you are a subscriber to NewsMax magazine there is a short bio on Glenn showing a pic as a 13 year old amateur magician (circa 1977) on stage - you must know he’s not above a few ’slight of hand’ to put a point across…he’s right on.

95. Sue | 09.25.09

I was a journalism major in college. Apparently that was a long, long time ago because we were taught - grilled, pounded into our heads - to check, check, check our facts before writing and then - check again and do a rewrite!

It makes me so sad to see constantly, day after day, story after story on virtually every major media outlet that this is no longer considered necessary. Or even desirable, it seems.

When did it become OK to take a bit of info and run with it? To use a half a video clip and report that as the whole story?

No wonder Fox has the lions share (and the tigers, too!) of the market. They at least try to verify the stories before running with them.

MSNBC, the NYT, CNN and ABC/CBS/NBC are all a joke, and now the CSM is also. If you call yourselves journalists you are lying to yourselves and your readers. Shame on you.

96. Rachel | 09.25.09

Wow….Cannot beleive people are actually angry about this article..this was unbiased…They were stating fact..”people are upset”. They also stated the Huff Post ended it with the frog being fake “but thats not on the video..so who knows”. they said they dont know if the frog was fake, but they are writing a story about what he did on air. Where did they lie again? They said time and time again..We dont know..even the title has a question at the end. Come on..people.. read with open eyes before you get so angry..(typical republicans ready to get angry at everything because their not in office)dont worry you’ll have your turn again.

97. Rob | 09.25.09

So Rachel, it’s our fault for not reading with “open eyes” before getting angry, but no complaints that major sources of information run out and post this **** without checking the facts fully or watching the full segment with “open eyes” as well???

98. Whittney | 09.25.09

When I began reading this article I was sure I was going to be the only one pointing out the blatant inaccuracy (stating that Glenn did not tell the audience that the frog was fake, which he did).

Instead I am stating my relief that there are still sane people out there, who already posted this for me.

There is hope yet!

99. Mike Chmielewski | 09.25.09

Face it Glenn, you are a plastic holocaust denier. Even though it was plastic, you killed it! I only hope you have the decency of properly recycling, like perhalps making a tie tack form one of the legs.

100. Chazz | 09.25.09

Obviously, there is a lot of knee-jerk reaction to this story. I happened to be watching the actual broadcast that night. He specifically stated that the frog was a fake a few sentences later.

I was in the middle of cooking dinner so I didn’t see the part where the former ambassador verified that it was a fake frog. It is my understanding that the next night they showed ‘behind the scenes’ footage of how the stunt was set up.

Apparently, people were rushing to write on their blogs and missed the revelation of the fake a few seconds later. Props to the CSM for making atleast a half-hearted correction.

101. J Harris | 09.25.09

Beck is just a step away from being a political pundit version of Gallagher. He’s nothing more but a populist clown, doing his antics to make himself money. Anyone who says he’s providing truth needs to seek medical attention.

Instead of a frog gag, show the video of Katie Couric of all people stumping Beck in asking him ‘what is white culture?’

102. jaissen | 09.25.09

slowly boiling to death (McCain) quickly boiling to death (Obama) death is death wake up America !! the frog is not the issue. the fake frog shows us that we will die either way, we are not so stupid as to think that scalding an animal of that size would not kill it, it would and we KNOW it!!

103. Patty Weaver | 09.25.09

I don’t care what animals, real or fake, that Beck does
or does not boil or pretend to boil in water, oil or the liquid of your choice.
For me, he seems like a howling lunatic and when his raving rants come on,
I flick the channel. But hey, if you think he was “sent to us by God,”
to each his own. Enjoy.

104. Whateve | 09.25.09

Even if the frog was “fake” Who in their right minds would use such analogy ever? You’d have to have a mental age of 5 to do such thing, from my point of view this isn’t about the frog anymore, It’s just the fact that he would go as far as this just to grab media attention.

It’s really funny how right wingnuts ran to defend their clown.

105. karen kellock | 09.25.09

GLEN BECK’S SICK CRUEL FROG TRICK: it doesn’t matter if it was a fake frog. He faked a horrifying thing putting ideas in people’s minds and making the rest of us VERY sad. Although I have watched Beck every day for a year, and loved him–I now see him as immature and dangerous. Another immaturity is his jocularity about urgent issues which should not be minimized (through comedy) in any way. Though his comic act bothered me I watched him anyway but after this sick cruel trick I’ll just skip him.

106. James | 09.25.09

What do you expect from an ex morning radio show shock jock who once posted his bumper stickers all over the cars at a rival DJ’s wedding or mocked another rival DJ whose wife had just had a miscarriage.

Too many years of daily drug use have turned Beck’s brain into pancake batter.

Funny how the SoCons adore him so much.

107. James | 09.25.09

Too many years of heavy drug use have apparently turned Beck’s brain into pancake batter.

108. john | 09.25.09

The liberals need to create the federal frog police to get to the bottom of this. Investigate everyone. What was that frogs name? Trial lawyers file a lawsuit quick, Glenn has money for you to redistribute.

109. John | 09.25.09

Jon Stewart should have fun with this one. He knows there is no room for humor in politics. No more tears please, I am laughing too hard. This is too funny that liberals commenting here would grab on to a frog prank and run it up the flag pole.

110. Brian | 09.25.09

Mr. Beck should have done his homework. The boiled frog experiment has been debunked several times. A frog thrown into boiling water usually dies. A frog that is slowly heated up jumps out. Unless the sides of the pot are too high. OK, if the water is heated up at less than 0.002 degrees C per second then after about 2 hours the frog may be dead. Unless it got bored and moved on.

But maybe it’s different with people. Perhaps Mr. Beck should throw himself into boiling water to see if he dies or is able to jump out. Then, supposedly, we’d all know which way to go on health care… But we should at least try to get our metaphors right.

111. JimC | 09.25.09

RIBET

112. Scott | 09.25.09

Wow, so many upset about this. I see more violence on prime time TV and families who allow their children to watch it.

His point was made, many only see or here what they want and then make their opinion and then tell others it is the truth. Beck said within a minute after he put the (fake) frog in the water it was not real. He also had it confirmed by his guest that the frog was plastic.

He also stated that the idea that the frog would jump from boiling water was not a fact, but myth.

See, I watched the whole thing with an open mind to see what the whole story was about. For those who jumped to the conclusion that he was a frog killer only heard what they wanted and stopped.

Open your minds people; listen to what is going on in the nation and don’t stop listening once you heard what you want.

Beck got a lot of publicity from this and that makes more people wanting to see what he has to say. Listen, you may learn something.

113. GOP Thinker | 09.26.09

Glenn Beck ‘kills’ a frog.
Roe v. Wade kills 40 million unborn babies.

(And guess which one liberals are more upset about?)

114. jill | 09.26.09

Watched it…and Heck, to me it was obvious that it wasn’t a real frog……ya’ll need to quit worrying about the ‘frog’ and listen to the message!!!!!! There are some of us here that KNOW what the Founding Fathers were doing and We KNOW what the Constitution is….and SHAME on America School Systems the they DON’T Teach American HISTORY!!!! My Daughter, 14 yr, in Jr. High….Looked at her “HISTORY” book (by the way it’s “Social Science” now.) has NOTHING about the Civil War, NOTHING about the Koren War NOTHING about the Vietnam War Et al…..what ‘history’ (oh my mistake….”social Science”) is about the Arabic countries. I frankly find it offensive…..I want my daughter to learn the history of her country!!! I want her to learn about Ben Franklin, Abarham Lincoln, George Washington…and I want her to learn about Nixon (he wasn’t all bad) and Kennedy and Carter(although, now, he just needs to build houses and keep his mouth shut…..he’s just stirring…huh ****) and the Bushes and Clintons and Ronald Reagan. I WANT my daughter to have a CHOICE….I want my daughter to say “NO I do not wish to watch political movies, broadcasts, etc” in school…I WISH we had a PERMISSION SLIP come home with them so WE could say MY CHILDREN ARE NOT WATCHING/PARTICIPATING in this….WE the PARENTS (PEOPLE) seem not to have a CHOICE. We are also apparently too stupid to stand up for ourselves…we need ‘glenn beck’ or ‘rush limbaugh’ or ‘joe smoe’ to tell us we can…….WE THE PEOPLE ARE STANDING UP AND TELLING YOU YOU MUST DO WHAT IS RIGHT and WE ARE NOT GOING AWAY!!!!!!!! Look at the NUMBERS!

115. Jill | 09.26.09

Yes, I am still having nightmares about Glenn Beck throwing the non existint frog into the water!!!!!! I think I get a lawyer or call PETA…..they should be able to defend the frog in the cage he pretended to catch (but very obviously didn’t….he ain’t as quick as a frog ROFL) for mental anguish!!!!! I’m sure he tramatized that live frog that was jumping in the cage…….let’s hang him!!!!!!! GET A LIFE PEOPLE worry about what’s happening to US not a silly plastic FROG.

116. RonK | 09.26.09

Please, get serious. If you’re going to post a claim, show the entire video all the way through. You proved Glenn’s point. The media don’t do a decent job of covering all sides of the news, just the liberal point of view they hold — as shown in various Pew Media polls of media people themselves.

Also, remember that Pew thoroughly studied the coverage of our 2008 presidential campaign and found that the most balanced network was…Fox News Network. That’s the reason Fox is growing so fast. And the left-stream media are losing audience because they present only their liberal view of the news. It’s sad. Walter Cronkite must be turning over in his grave.

117. Homunculis | 09.26.09

Poor Kermie. “Oh Kermie, look, it’s wonderful.” “Like a dream come true.”

This article made me laugh on the inside. My sisters used to get mad at me for skipping frogs when I was a kid. You see frogs have streamlined bodies, and if you skip them on a lake or body of water they skip very well. If you do not let go of their legs the legs detach and they make a great skipping stones, skip, skip, sink. I am a little sorry for this discovery, but just a little.

“Poor Kermy” I used to say in my best miss piggy impersonation to my sisters, my sisters hated me. It was great.

118. Robert | 09.26.09

The analogy was great and I knew when I seen it there would be an outcry from the liberals about the poor little frog that got boiled as has been demonstrated from reading all the comments posted. But what really amazes me is the fact that there are a large number of liberals watching his program. So I have to say to Glen “Keep it up Glen, this is the kind of stuff that the liberals need to watch, maybe they’ll get an education”.

119. Lori | 09.26.09

How come there was no breakdown of KBR, Blackwater, and other corporations like Acorn. I do recall Acorn recieving about 15 Million or so over 15yrs but the EVIL corporations like KBR and Blackwater who have killed innocent lives by there own faults keep gettin hundreds of millions even w/ pending cases of fraud, waste, abuse, distortion and death….Why doesn’t the government stop funding / awarding them big money contracts? Can I get some news about that…I just want it to be fair, you do wrong then you recieve the punishment…

Lori

120. J. J. Kirchenbaum | 09.27.09

This poor guy has gone insane. Why on earth anyone would put an innocent frog and kill it in front of millions. Enough with the Acorn and gibberish with Obama. Republicans are desperate and this helpless glenn guy is trying anything to have people’s attention.

Our founding fathers came here for freedom and liberty. Not for creating a republicanist country and democrat country. We are one nation and there is no need for spreading false hate. These protests has gone way beyond out of line. Disrespecting the president and for what he stands for is inexcusable.

Open up your eyes and educate yourself. Learn both sides of the Acorn story unlike glenn. People need a healthcare reform. U.S. is on the bottom of the list in the world in healthcare. Do not waste time with bigotry and rubbish talk. Republican party is just a political party like many others in the history. They may disappear, something else may come. Same with democrats…

We should be dealing with how to better educate our children, how to be more competitive in the world market, how we can bring jobs back to the U.S. and how we can create a logical healthcare system not glenn beck, or any other republicans who are puppets to several companies.

121. Dale Evans | 09.27.09

120 comments, yep Glen Beck has acheaved his goal, get people talking.

122. BeckonBeck | 09.27.09

Beck is a strange man. It would be interesting if Becks LDS Ward he attends could be observed. Some of the whacky things things he does, look like some of the props used in some of the LDS church classes. His ward has to be a wild place!

123. Jasmine | 09.27.09

No wonder the media is losing it’s grip on the American people. This article was just obsurd!

Talk about important issues, not plastic frogs. You are losing your credibility.

- Your idea here

Just say no.

125. jaissen | 09.28.09

Where has ANYBODY heard that EVERYBODY that disagrees with Obama is a racist. Can’t I disagree with a him on his ideas, or has that escaped your reasoning? I disagreed with some of Bushs’ ideas, Clintons, Reagans and others does that mean that I hate whites too !!! If the fact that I voted against him means that I am a racist would that stand to say that those that voted against McCain just because he’s white , make them racists too ?
